So I'm driving to Taco Bell for lunch at work. Damn you 30 min lunches!

I'm behind this jeep at a red light. Light turns green and the jeep just sits there. So I kinda mouth "come on let's go" and give a little hands up, come on gesture.

Jeep goes.

After a second the window rolls down and I see a hand giving me the finger.

Nice!

So I just sarcastically give him a cute wave I would give to a 3 year old... I'm still behind him.

Another finger.

The light ahead goes red. He immediately pulls over to the turn lane to my left at the red.

I look over and see two black dudes in maybe their mid 20's. Driver rolls down the window and goes for the jugular...

All I hear is, "yo fa**it ass white boy"!!!

Dude is screaming at me, "fuck white people"!!!

His friend is just chilling.

I just said, "why u mad tho, who hurt you"??

This triggered him to the stratosphere. He was frantically waving his hands screaming about how I'm so gay and white.

I blew him a kiss and drove off when the light turned.

Dude was SOOO mad.

I lulzed all the way to Taco bell!

HA. One time I was leaving work, and I was behind one car at a red light, we're waiting to turn left, at a light that does not stay green for very long once it changes.

The light goes green, and I clearly see the person in the car in front of me has their head down, reading a phone. I gave the horn a quick tap, just waking you up buddy, this light ain't green forever.

In an ideal world, this guy would have given me the I'm sorry wave gesture, and carried on. What did he do instead? Gave me the finger lol.

A few months back, a 20 something year old kid gave a bad driver the finger right near where I live, and the dude came up to him at the next light and shot him in the face. He's alive but obviously pretty fucked up.

I get massive amounts of road rage, but this story has made me force myself to just let shit go on the roads.

Back when i was still driving trucks OTR it was pretty much guaranteed to see road rage 5 to 10 times a day. Especially in bigger cities where everybody expects you to come to a dead stop to let them merge from an on-ramp.

Absolutely. I think the faster pace of the world and people's increasing narcissism, coupled with the fact that very rarely are you called out for bullshit on the road makes for a lot of shitty drivers (someone might honk a horn - but in general, short of an accident, people get away with things like cutting people off, not using signals, driving like a maniac, etc. far more than they should, which doesn't help curbing these behaviours)

I may have kicked off someone's driver side mirror when they didn't signal and almost ran me off the road.

Some guy didnt go at a light so i beeped. Next light he pulled into the turn lane. I looked over he pulls out a gun and shoots my car up. Good thing i was rocking my bullet proof car with side missle launchers. I push a button missles shoot at his car and i drive off as his car engulfed with flames. about a year ago some jackass in a f150 raptor was revving at me(mind you these are automatics so he had to put it in neutral) and being a complete douche, trying to race light to light, etc. One light he hit the gas too hard on the slick roads and did a 360 and sideswiped the car in the next lane

We have a dangerous intersection where I live, so I take an extra amount of time if I’m turning right on a red there. Traffic comes from a blind corner going 60mph (the speed limit is 60, so really people do 75). So unless you are 100% sure you best not make that red. Our community has asked for a “no turn on red” sign to be put up.

While I’m being cautious and waiting. Inevitably some jackass will lay on their horn. I usually just ignore it, but if they really are laying it on I’ll just wait for a green no matter what. We’ve had 2 people die at this intersection in 5 months, not risking it ever.

Great points and now more than ever, it's really important that people let these things go both for their safety and sanity. Always saddened to hear about road rage deaths.

Don't do this, no use in wasting effort and gas on a person with zero driving sense. Let them go, Darwinism will solve the problem eventually.

Don’t avoid road rage. If you have road rage you have issues with constructive use of aggression and are probably boxed in an office all day. People that road rage need to be confronted and arrested. One time a guy was pulling close to me in a work van when I was crossing the street ( walk light was on ) and I kind of gave him that look like back off you’re making me uncomfortable, and after I turned he pegged his accelerator a little to fuck with me. I walked right up to him and said hey, would it help if a yanked you out of that truck and bashed your skull in? I really enjoyed turning his smarmy expression in to one of fear.

A lot of people get away with way too much because people are scared to confront anyone. And no, I’m not Bill Badass, I just deal with shit in an immediate way.

Agreed with Nymphae . Move past really all encounters in your vehicle with haste. People out there are insane. You're not able to balance the scale of them irritating you, and you'll put yourself and others around you in possible conflict.

I have an extremely shitty hour and a half commute home everyday riding from the north side of Boston to the south of the city and it is a complete free for all and after awhile I just got to a point now where I am numb to it all and just laugh at these people who get pissed off at the slightest driving indiscretion.

One time, when I was about 19 I cut a guy off in traffic. When we got to the next red light, he gets out of his car, walks up to the driver side cussing me out as he does. I had my window rolled down because I had no AC and when he gets to my window he rears back and punches me hard in the nose. Blood every where. I mean just coming out like a faucet.

I had no clue what to do so I just drive. Got home. My parents start freaking out. My brother tries washing the blood off my nose with the garden hose in the backyard. I pass out. Come to a few minutes later with EMS standing over me.
