For HSR you are trying too hard. My Acheron is much worse than yours, 55% Crit rate 160% Crit damage, I don't even have a lightcon for her, I use Good Night and Sleep Well. And that's enough for me.
I've never tried to min-max artifact stats, I don't have a single signature lightcon, and I haven't collected any edolons. If you just build characters relatively well in this game + give this character a good group, that's more than enough. A well-placed group in this game will solve many problems. Don't get too fixated on one character, just make good balanced groups and you'll be fine.

I just went into the game and ran through all the modes.

I screwed up the last rotation and FF ended up not being able to finish off the boss and lost points, but I'm too lazy to replay the fight. :messenger_grinning:
Sorry, I was busy catching some fish for an Inazuma weapon in Genshin. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I think I might have gotten some of that brainrot that the regulars of /r/AcheronMains have so don't mind me. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Noice on clearing all the modes though! :messenger_sunglasses:

Yes, I just don't want you to burn out ahead of time, farming artifacts in games from miHoYo is probably the worst part of them. And considering that you decided to choose Acheron from all the characters as your main focus, this means sooner or later you will have to pull Jiaoqiu, since without him she is a very mediocre character by the standards of today's meta. And oh my god how "pleasant and easy to equip" he is, I know a person who farmed artifacts on him for 4 months and still could not find good stats. Therefore, most "the fun" is yet to come, naturally everything will depend on your luck and randomness.

I already told you, my man, I have the /r/AcheronMains brainrot, which means I'll try everything to extract that potential out of Acheron -- except getting Jiaoqiu. I already have enough pulls saved up to get this lovely catgirl as Acheron's second Nihility teammate so I can get the full benefit from her "The Abyss" trace. Before she arrives, I should probably have enough saved up to get her light cone as well.

Sometimes our wishes are shattered by reality. Let's see how it will be in reality. I like it so much, there is such a hyper fixation on Cipher, despite the fact that there is no data at all that she will be suitable for Acheron. If you look at 3.3, there are absolutely brutal banners. There in the first half Hyacine, together with The Herta (Absolutely broken character), and the second phase Cipher and Aglaea (Second absolutely broken DPS). I can just see how everyone ran to get Cipher for the sake of Acheron. Especially considering that 3.4 is a collaboration with Faith. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Welp, looks like hoyo wants to empty my wallet with all these rerun banners in Genshin, and now in HSR as well. I'll def have to get The Herta too since she's one of the reasons, along with Acheron and Castorice, that made me start playing HSR. 😩

Anyways, take this fresh Escoffier gif I've made for giving me the bad news (I snagged her over the weekend and now I'm building her up).

Edit: I don't care about Saber from the Fate collab though, so there's that at least.

Not sure if it was a gacha, but Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link finally got shitcanned. I hadn't heard a thing about it since its reveal.

Some interesting stuff here that I thought is worth sharing since it relates to the gacha game industry.

This is expected i, in China there are not so many companies that release games autonomously. Most studios, if they show results, are immediately bought by one of the giants - usually Tencent. By the way, Tencent wanted to bite off a piece of Mihoyo at one time, I haven't followed this for a long time, I don't know whether they ended up buying part of their shares or not. If I remember correctly, Tencent bought something around 35-40% of Kuro's shares. There is even a joke in China - "Sooner or later, everything becomes Tencent." :messenger_tears_of_joy:

As far as I know, Tencent doesn't have any investment in mihoyo, but they continue to buy shares and make investments in mihoyo's competitors (a good example here is the one you've mentioned with Kuro), since I'm sure they want their own golden gacha goose.

I think they're still salty that at the time an independent game studio (afaik, mihoyo is still a private company to this day) managed to beat them to the punch and become the most well known gacha game maker in the industry.

And hate hoyo as much as you like, but it's best for them (and for fans of hoyo games) that Tencent has zero influence on them. Also, just for good measure, fuck Tencent, lol.

Nobody likes them. But they are so big that it is also impossible to write them off from the counts. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
In China, there are only two companies that are disliked even more than Tencent - NetEase and Perfect World. These are probably the top 3 most disliked companies in China.

Damn, I was barely able to get 15% in the new Nikke solo raid. Usually I hover around 10%. Honestly, I wasn't feeling it this time though and only did a single run and cut my losses. Gluttony was a shit boss.

I didn't want to make a thread since the last one went bad, and I also kinda forgot about this news which is now a few weeks old, but it looks like the Global version of Umamusume is finally launching on Steam next month.

Also, I looked up in my Google Play Store and the game is rated PEGI 18. 👀

I played the Japanese version, though a long time ago, I left after they started adding wedding dresses to the event. I definitely won't play again, since the game loop is not very interesting and quite monotonous. Regarding the donation, it was relatively calm on the Japanese server, although of course the premium costumes from Gatcha are much better than anything in the game from the free ones.

P.S - I also have DMM and Fanza accounts, but I won't say what games I played there. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It's nice that Cygames is publishing this one. I played Priconne for a year or so and really enjoyed it. It was the perfect little low-time requirement side game with fun stories and goofy events, but Crunchyroll was the publisher in global and they killed it as soon as it dropped below 400k/mo. I always wished that Cygames would decide to take over the server instead, since they already do English localization for GBF which is a dinosaur browser game that barely makes any money.

Anyways, I have no space in my day or on my phone for horsegirls. I watched a few videos a while back and there was even less gameplay involved there than in Priconne. They didn't strike while the iron was hot here, and I don't think they'll see a big playerbase outside of JP for it.

New NTE promo video. There are some legit great character designs in there (the witch and the fox miko, for me), but I'm suuuuper hesitant to touch anything that Hotta/Perfect World is part of. I'm also a little annoyed that none of their promo videos I've seen have shown the UI or any actual gameplay. Kinda sucks since this is the beta trailer.

*edit*

Lmao, classic Hotta. You can't even sign up for the beta. The English version of the form is fucked up and won't let you submit.

I've already posted in the main NTE thread in the gaming section, but I'll repeat and say that I like the improvements they've made to the characters compared to what they showed last year in trailers and during the CN CBT (this includes the MC). They no longer look like indie vtubers and are properly designed which is a big plus.

I'm not signing up for the CBT since my PC will melt, but I'll def give it a try once it releases on PS5.

Also, here are all the gifs I've made with some of the characters revealed in this new trailer:

Looks like Tribe Nine just announced EoS after 3 months.

Kinda bittersweet for me. I thought it was a really great game, and would have been a good standalone $49.99 JRPG, but they flubbed the release and had zero marketing and catered to the worst demographics imaginable (fringe HoYo fans).

RIP in peace.

Honestly, I'm not surprised, it's made very strangely for a Gatcha game. It feels like at one point it was just supposed to be a regular game, but then they decided to remake it into a Gatcha. It was received very coolly in all regions, it seems to me that they overdid themselves a bit, it just needed to be made a regular game and put it up for $15 in the AppleStore and GooglePlay and everything would have been ok for them.

Seen it from a mile ago so I didn't even try it.

I think PonyStation4 PonyStation4 was playing this gacha as well.

Agreed. As a standalone game, it makes sense. As a gacha, it was just not planned out well.

Also, when you have characters like this in the gacha-sphere, you ain't generating any hype for your game:

Wait, we need an expert opinion here. Peroroncino - What is your opinion on this matter? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

So it looks like SEGA themselves are the publisher for the global version of P5X, just as I thought (screenshot from my Google Play Store). :messenger_smirking:
Good news if true, I skip it anyway, I've played enough in the Chinese version, plus in my opinion they delayed the release too much, it should be released much earlier. There are much more interesting projects being prepared for release now.

I tried it, but could't get past the combat tutorial cuz the game didn't register button presses at all for some reason even after multiple restarts. The intro was boring af and way too long for what it is.

Anyway, the fact that it's basically dead now is not surprising to me, the gacha market is brutal.

Btw, Pejo Pejo I had zero problems registering for NTE beta, gone through survey and such. I'm sure I won't get access like always, but who knows....

How did the game perform according to sensor tower?

Technically it didn't really wow me so I just ignored it, still sucks to see, 3 months is way too short.

I think the April revenue was like 50k or something. Clear EoS levels.

Everyone was coping that it was bigger on Steam, which may be true, but not enough to climb out of that hole.

Just saw that the dev for Tribes Nine is Akatsuki Games. They have another gacha they've been working on, which they've revealed over a year ago.

Also, I'm not sure if it is just me, but it looks like these newer JP gachas are failing left and right.

Yes, that's true. In most cases, they themselves are to blame for this. There are two main problems, usually too much delay between releases in different regions. At the same time, they are not in a hurry if the game was coldly received, for example, in China or Korea, they will not speed up the global release. And as a result, when the time comes to release the game globally, all the hype has already gone and the time is up. The second problem is that there is nothing that can hook players, a very large percentage of games do not have any good hooks for players and cannot offer anything new or some new interpretation of old formulas. In fact, all games are more or less the same (This, by the way, also applies to Persona and why it was so coolly received in China and Korea (I think), since if you discard the visual style and a couple of mechanics that they added, there is nothing special in the game). Plus, there is too much competition in this market now, and games are released too often, and if your game gets lost amid all these announcements and releases, this ultimately also has a negative impact on the state of the game.

Looks like a new Korean gacha is on the horizon (waifu only with male MC). Not sure about the gameplay, but people are saying it will be turn based.

Sorry, love you. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
They were about a year late with its release.
Tbh, it's kinda shitty they have no EN dub. There's also no localization for the global version other than JP and EN (Persona 5 Royal has FR, IT, DE, SP, etc. in addition to EN and JP)

Idk how they want to make this gacha succeed, but this ain't it, tbh. Luckily the global Persona fanbase is pretty big, but idk, it looks like to me that SEGA & Atlus is half assing this global release.

They're also region blocking the game in a bunch of countries, particularly in SEA. I really come to believe that most of these big JP publishers have no clue how about publishing gachas overseas.

I like that they kind of covered their ass with Sega brand, because they know perfectly well that no one likes Perfect World, but in Steam, developer is still Perfect World. It will be funny if the PW logo appears when the game starts. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Although to be honest, considering the situation that Sega has given up publishing rights in China and Korea (the two most important regions), and considering the weak financial results of this game in these regions. I don't know why everyone was so surprised by the lack of voice acting. I immediately wrote - "Will Sega want to spend its money outside of Japan, that's a good question." That's why the game is released as I call it in the Cold Start - they release it as is, they see what happens and how many people take bite, and that will determine what happens next.

Master Detective Rain Code = Bad sales
Tribe 9 = EOS
100 Line Defense Academy = sales seem bad

It's looking like the end is close for Tookyo Games. Disappointing, because the story and characters were more interesting than any other gatcha I've played.
They've always had problems, especially with game marketing and business decisions.

Master Detective Rain Code - there was extremely weak marketing, plus they decided to make the game exclusive to the Switch (apparently hoping for the Japanese market), but when it became clear that the plan didn't work and sales were too low even in Japan, they weren't in a hurry to release it on other platforms. As a result, when it came out on other platforms, the moment had already been lost and interest in the game had already died down by that time. (And again, there wasn't much marketing for the same PS5 version, the game just came out)

Tribe 9 - Weak marketing, they just overdid themselves, the game doesn't work as a gatcha game in principle. Just make a normal game, put it in mobile stores for $10-15, and people will buy it from you. (You don't have to go far for examples, Fantasian was a great success on phones, even without a version on other platforms)

100 Line Defense Academy - Very weak marketing (I'm starting to notice a pattern...), and again, exclusive to Switch, it worked so well the first time with Master Detective Rain Code... so it had to be repeated again. And no, releasing such a niche game on PC won't help you in any way, unfortunately.

They have problems with their game release strategy and marketing. And rumor has it that they have problems with production costs.

I wanted to double dip on Rain Code (I already bought the physical Switch version on day one), but the retailer I pre-ordered from was screwed over by the distributor, which meant I would have received a regular PS5 physical copy without the bonus paperback novel. Oh well...

Pre-orders for any edition on PlayStation 5 include the novel "How to Be a Master Detective: A Halara Nightmare Case." First-print physical copies of the game include a printed version of the novel, while pre-orders for the digital edition include a digital version of the novel.

After going through survey in GF2 it got me thinking. Folks, how collabs work in these games? Is it just timed events or we can get characters from other games by pulling? And then, how license work in gacha, it is timed or until the game hits EOS?

Now I'm starting to understand why Acheron's banner sold so well back in March 2024 when it was released. I know it was the 1st anni as well, but she was probably the most hyped unit they've released so far in the game.

Same happened to Brown Dust II, also bumped to 18+ but the reason they give is "Sex" :messenger_grinning_sweat: ... but there is no sex in the game :messenger_loudly_crying: ... but some skill animations are close to hentai so i can understand :messenger_smirking:. Nikke still dodging bullets with all the lewds and still rated 12+

I was looking through some comments from JP on the Silver Palace reveal trailer, and the majority seem positive. However, I did notice quite a few saying they're getting tired with all these gacha games, especially the open world ones.

Oversaturation seems to become a real issue, especially once more big gachas start releasing this year and in 2026.

This has been a problem for a long time, it is further aggravated by the fact that not all people can simply get up and leave the game, many develop an attachment, there is also a fear of leaving and many other factors. But in fact, the Gatcha games market has long been overloaded, and the flow of games is not going to slow down or stop. Therefore, the situation for some players will only get worse.

And here, of course, we can joke as much as we like about how people who play all three of miHoYo games at once are to blame themselves (and this is true :messenger_tears_of_joy: ). But the market is now so heavily packed that it is physically impossible to play everything that comes out. One of the reasons why I so drastically reduced the number of games in my Gatcha catalog was not only - tired of these games + disappointment. But also looking at all the announcements for 2025, I just want to try something new. And this is physically unrealistic if I will continue to play old games.
