Sales aren't everything though. You could probably put Gucci on some of these lists at different periods of times and I wouldn't expect more than 20k from him either. With the way this is looking, Tyga at #3, Meek Mill is a shoe-in for #2 and they probably have Mac Miller at #1.

I feel like a lot of people's complaints for WTT circle around it containing a lot of poppy-er tracks, and less, I don't know, rap-number-crunching you could say. Some lyrical flexing onto subjects that aren't on-top-of-the-pedestal rap.
Now I'm obviously biased, but I thought WTT had a ton of memorably good verses. I still wouldn't call it a poppy album, but the remnants of the original WTT project all seem the most promising. I'd love for an album of New Day/Murder To Excellence stuff, that's what I wanted out of WTT. And although I listened to WTT last year more than any other album, I still was and am disappointed with it. It's like a best-of of the WTT sessions, which is great, but not what I wanted either. I didn't expect them to dial up the ratio of fun songs to the rest that much from the initial reports of what they were gonna focus on.

I get chills at the end of Ye's verse on New Day. Am I the only one? Please say I'm not the only one. That shit stings. Both of those verses are some of the best on the album.

Overall though, yeah I guess it's fairly inconsistent. My view of WTT has warped considerably since it came out. I'm done with 'expectations' with Jay. He's as versatile as he wants to be. Whatever the mood or feeling is for a song when it's made reflects the quality, not the skill at all really.
New Day is really underrated. My biggest beef with WTT is that it's sort of... try hard? I feel like Black Album and Graduation had songs that just WERE badass because of their wordplay and overall cleverness. Sometimes I feel like WTT is trying to beat me over the head with how "swagged out" it's trying to be.
That said, NiP is so goddamn good and I've listened to the album once a week since it came out.
