I really don't get why Jay didn't fuck his life up, or why other artists just don't refuse to work with the guy. I mean, fuck everything else, it's just bitchmade to fuck up a girl like that. Whatever.

Money > morals.

Anyway i don't really have a beef w/ breezy. His stupid fangirls yeah

But im fine w/ him. I wish him success & healthy relationships .

I always think the same thing. I have a strange mind (shocking I know) and on occasion I fantasize about being famous and doing talk shows or radio and what people would ask me, and after reading something about brown the other day I was imagining what I'd say if someone asked me about all the shittalking I do on gaf and how I'd explain I don't really have a problem with anybody personally, there are just aritsts whose music I don't enjoy and I like being a sarcastic dick, but that the only guy I truly think is a piece of shit is Chris Brown and how it would end up being some big deal and words would go back and forth and I'd end up running into him somewhere and I'd knock him out after he put his hands on me...yeah I think of weird shit when I'm drunk. And then was a very long run on sentence.

Dude, everbody has dreamed about being rich and famous, at least once.

Araabmuzik - Instrumental Academy

I know I have a few araabbros over here. It's a collection of previous beats and...it's aight. It's also up on Spotify, which is the better option if you do it, cause none of these beats are worth any money.

On a side note I find it interesting that no one talks about how poorly some of Dilla's stuff was received at the time. Let's not forget people revolted at Beats Rhymes and Life. Today many people regarded it as the underrated classic it is, but back then folks weren't fucking with that. Same with Q-Tip's first solo album, and of course Labcabincalifornia

happens when anyone dies. beats rhymes & life was classic shit, and im glad i wasnt connecting with anyone beyond my friends & the source at the time to hear it get shat on. i know tip's solo one did too, but i wasnt as big on that one, and i dont even recall what the last one you said there was.

I'm not trying to shit on dude or anything, but I always thought Donuts is pretty much the best thing he's done outside a few other projects here there (See: Some killer Slum Village tracks). He was thought he was a more focused Madlib (As in, not afflicted with stoner ADD like madlib seems to be) but madlibs highs have always been way higher and his catalog far more interesting. I think J was getting there though, what with the way internet was changing the way we experience music and how artists deliver/start and work on projects. That is the most tragic thing about his death. What could have been, not what he was.

Jaylib fucking sucks.

controversy in the spoilers, but honestly, i had much higher hope for the project so if im being honest, i felt that way to.
honestly? i know donuts is like his most-loved thing but it's not nearly my favorite, personally.

It seems like there's a perception that hip hop producers simply make "beats" to be rapped over, and all their work is an instrumental until someone hops on it. We're seeing some people transcend that mentality now, like Clams Casino and Arab Musik's recent albums. No one looks at a DJ Shadow or Flying Lotus album and says "aw man I need to jump on that!" It's its own genre of music and I feel like there was a clear difference between Dilla's instrumental works and what he saw as tracks for rappers or singers. For instance, the Ghostface tracks on Donuts which were specifically made for him.

^100%, but then again, i half made the jazz/instrumental hop thread for that very reason. not every beat was made to flow over, and shadow/lotus are perfect examples. i dont want people on either of those, even my favorite MC's.

Anyway, Dilla ain't got shit on Timbaland.

see, if i hadn't caught you in that 3DS thread trying to figure out what every hint screen was, i'd never know just how crazy you is, jo. it all makes sense now, haha.

wayne is saying nobody gives a shit about "the throne" when Cash Money is churning out platinum albums faster than anybody in rap.

his 12 year old fanbase got addressed, but i wonder if he ever gets sad knowing his 15 minutes gotta run out sometime, and his shit will age about as well as ja/g-unit/etc? i imagine he does, and then cries into his money-pools.

AoTL was a highfalutin mess, Power was a better song by far

i'll co-sign this.

It's funny, girls (or quite a few I've encountered) were pretty quick to forgive and forget but every dude I know who is even just a little aware of CB and what he did Rhianna still don't understand how he's still making music/selling records.

man, i shoulda seen this since chicks was rushing out to the dancefloor whenever luke/"youse a ho"/ or whatever this week's misognyist as fuck track came on, yelling "AW GRRL THIS IS MY JAM" but yeah, fanbases dont give a shit. it's crazy.
and brown is like thoroughbred bitchmade.

Dilla was a fucking beat god. I admit I might be a lil of a stan, but so what if dude had some crappy albums?
Jay-Z had a couple of 'em too but his dope shit overshadows most others.
People are just starting to catch up to Jay's dopest shit. Dude was ahead of his time, and had a style like no fucking other.

The Grammy's are 4 years behind. Too bad he couldn't get it for "For Emma, Forever Ago".

GAF-Hop, I need music to chill out to before I start breaking shit. I've had Doppelgangaz on repeat but I need some more. More than just instrumentals too.

Holy shit, someone needs to make a GIF of when Lupe shows up.

What a fucking goof.

haha yeah, shit just made me choke on my food. Lupe is such a fucking bum haha. I'm about to learn how to gif just so I can gif that moment.

nujabes brahh, i know his album has a few instrumentals but still always soothing and calms me down. Really only time I listen to his stuff.

Blackace

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
That's what I thought too, def not a fan of that beat.

Not a fan of Killer Mike either :/

There's no looking back now. I've listened to it too many times, already grown onto me.

I thought so originally when I first heard it(mainly the chorus section though), still like the song though.

Yeah it's the chorus.. the pacman like riff is dope..

common universal mind control

album caught too much hate. >> Finding forever.

Nujabes or Dilla - The Shining. Common - Be or Finding Forever would be good too.

I got a thread for you, m'man

dru hill was hot shit

they had some tracks - wait around long enough, R&B will cycle back to that kinda sound.
..eventually. i hope. be cool to hear some motownphillybackagain type shit but that might be a stretch.

Xxplosive is such a fucking great song. 2001 is my shit atm.

everytime i open spotify at home, my chick's signed in with all her reaggeton bullshit, and i have (i think escha's) hip hop playlists, east & west, and that's always a go-to track for me.

*edit: CRS with another good call.

Kingpin Skinny Pimp is back! I have no idea whats going on with this video, why it only starts being a video from 40 seconds in and it appears to mash a trailer for another song on the end but still...

This is admittedly more suited for the summer months, but I was loving the Clean Ass Whip mixtape by Prince Aries last year. It's all west coast chilling and cruising music with originals being blended with the rap songs that sample them at some points and I highly recommend to anyone just interested in good ass music whether relaxing or not.

So fucking hot. That whole album was amazing.

Yeah. People really don't give it a lot of love, and I think i understand why, but it's really still in my top 10. I can listen to it all the way through easily.

Can't Knock the Hustle
Dead Presidents 2
Feelin It
D'Evils
22 Two's
Can I Live
Coming of Age
Cashmere Thoughts
Bring It On

All classic tracks imo

I need to give Reasonable Doubt more listens, but I think I like The Blueprint more.

On another note, Childish Gambino is the truth. Camp is so fucking good
