I know I was hating/lowering expectations earlier about the GFK probably gonna suck...It's pretty good. Some great beats. Love the beat on "Superstar." Headphone music right there.

I feel the same way, but in no way in hell is this the best Ghostface album ever :lol :
This would be hard pressed to win in a fight with Supreme Clientel (my personal favorite) and Iron Man but it's good and has some great beats with strong features.

Outside Apollo, I've only listened to Ghostdini, Ironman and Supreme Clientele.

Never been a Ghost fan, but I can say for sure I like this better than those albums. It's just my kind of energy. Scatterbrained and upbeat.

Any ideas what 'Apollo Kids' is referencing?

Yeah I'm not expecting anything to touch Supreme Clientele, Iron Man (or even Fishscale) until Supreme Clientele 2 comes out.

But what's the consensus on this album so far in the past few hours or so? :lol

It's good. Definitely worth paying for. One of his strongest post Supreme Clientel.

Yea, "Starkology" is probably the weakest track on the album. Don't care for that beat at all. Asian tune on "Handcuffin them hoes" is just...great.

It's definitely in the solid Ghost list

Ironman>Supreme Clientele> Fishscale > Big Doe Rehab = Apollo Kids > More Fish

...Best discography in the game IMO

I'd put it up with Fishscale.
Honestly, I like Big Doe Rehab slightly better than Fishscale...I just didn't rate it that way to avoid getting flamed. Yolanda's House puts it over the edge for me.

You're missing albums.

Supreme Clientele > Ironman > Bulletproof Wallets (Original Tracklist) > Fishscale > Wizard of Poetry > Apolo Kids > Big Doe Rehab > More Fish

Apollo Kids is a solid mixtape but it barely compares to the rest of his catalog... at all. Fishscale's production is some of the best Ghost has ever graced and everything before that.. his lyricism doesn't even compare to what anyone is doing now (not even him).

Listen to Ghostface on Supreme Clientele, Bulletproof Wallets, Wu Forever, and The W. Tell me he is not the best lyricist of all time, and I will knock myself out. He's a shell of his former self. He sold out to stay relevant. He's great at emulating stereotypical gangsta rap and keeping up with the likes of Jadakiss and such, but was it worth it?

edit - Why is everyone jerking off over this... it's a mixtape. Boring beats that bump hard... generic throw away lyrics... nothing sticks out... It's good but completely forgettable.

You're crazy man, Big Doe Rehab and More Fish are insanely underrated. More Fish has like all of the grimiest shit that didn't make Fishscale: Blue Armor, Guns N' Razors, Alex, and Street Opera.

Big Doe has Barrel Brothers and Yolanda's House. The rest of it is boring garbage IMO.

More Fish has those DOOM beat songs... but the only good one is Alex IMO. Guns N' Razors is a Theodore Unit posse cut... ugh. But on second thought, I might put it above Big Doe.

GFK + DOOM = Sex

The last amazing GFK songs were all from RZA productions... Run and The Heart Gently Weeps. His solo work since has not topped his level of storytelling in those songs.

Thanks for the heads up on the ScienZe mixtape.
I liked a couple songs I downloaded from him, didn't realize the tape was out. I'm like 5 songs in...this is my type of shit.

People talking Ghostface and not mentioning The Pretty Toney Album?
PTA is his second best, right after Supreme Clientele, and it might even be the best, need to give those two albums a few spins again.
The Pretty Toney album man, I might need to give y'all a few samples...

...More party bangers, if you liked Rollin' check this out, they are all in the same vein.

I basically download anything entirely produced by the Blockbeattaz (my favorite production crew right now). It was alright. The beats are obviously very nice, but I can't help but want an ST verse on every track. "Cuz It Feel Good" with the "Mo Money..." re-flip is a really dope beat/hook.

The new G-Side LP can't come soon enough.

I need help. There's a song on Hall Pass produced by J57...I recognize the beat but I have no clue where I've heard it before. It's track 10 Music (Rainmaker).

I tried to make a top 10 list but failed. But I think my favorite album of the year was Wale's "More About Nothing" I'm not sure why, but it's the only album to not leave my rotation for more than a week.

EDIT: How did I miss this? Perfect fucking description.

Most Disappointing Album of the Year
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Fuck Fest 2010 BYOB Chickachicka What
This album is disappointing because it could have been amazing, if Kanye would just stop being so fucking crazy and show some god damn restraint. We didn’t need 3 minutes of Chris Rock telling the same joke over and over at the end of Blame Game. We didn’t need every artist Kanye has ever met making a cluster fuck of All of the Lights. We didn’t need random Rick Ross verses. We didn’t need approximately 30 minutes of this album. But we got it anyways. Because Kanye is fucking crazy. And it’s beginning to become evident that it’s no longer in a good way. It was clear to me that he got halfway through and got distracted by other work, or something shiny in the next room, or Jay-Z’s dick in his throat. And as a result he treated this album like a plaything, carelessly throwing random shit on top of random shit.

If you can't make a top ten this year I don't see how'd you be able to make a top ten any year.

It's just a sample of an old MGMT song

That's my point...

Edit: I misunderstood you...I thought you were having trouble coming up with ten good albums to put in your list.

I should have figured as much. Here I was hoping for new MGMT on a rap mixtape. I know they worked with Cudi but I set my hopes too high. :lol
