I've liked pretty much everything Asher has put out up to this point. The Greenhouse Effect is an amazing mixtape, I love shit like The Lounge. He's pretty versatile, he can put out pop songs, intellectual stuff, and songs that throw a bunch of crazy rhymes together. He doesn't get enough respect in my opinion.

Also, what's everyone's opinion on this? (really really LTTP)

I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about this album. After a couple of listens, I am wondering why this isn't mentioned more when classic 90's albums are discussed. I'm sure most people know Back in the Day (which appeared in three different versions on the album) but every song is really good. I've been hooked on Ordinary People, we need more shit like that!
i agree with everything in this post. asher is dope and that ahmad album is dope.

The quicker Cudi stops rapping the better, far as I'm concerned.

Anyway David Banner and YYT were fucking fun as hell. Yeah they're washed up, but i got a lot of good grind going and heard some classic club bangers. Not so bad.

No one else cared when I posted it but for what it's worth, I think the David Banner x 9th Wonder death of a pop star ep/album is good. Particularly the 1st track/intro and this one:

I own that Ahmad on cassette..somewhere...or I did.

Gucci didn't throw that chick out of the hummer because she wouldn't fuck em. It had to be something else. It's not like he couldn't roll around in a Lambo and fuck any piece of ass he wanted. I think it was on some other shit.

Just throwing a chick out of a hummer is some stupid shit.. not on some white knighting shit on some you just killed men and all you got was community service and and then you messed that up and were finally almost cleared on that shit..

Lloyd Banks - "Getting To It (Mandatory)

first leak off of "Cold Corner 2", the beat is produced & mastered by Doe Pesci (Hawaiian Snow).

wordplay is good, so is the beat, but i'm not in the mood for this with spring & summer kinda here already.

but this on the other hand.....

DOPE. Danny Brown & Pill kill it, also Danny is signed to Fool's Gold now. 50 didn't want to sign him because of his appearance.

chick coulda had a gun on him trying to get his jewelry. Well'll never know. All I'm sayin is, there are legit reasons to throw chicks out of hummers. this, considering the woman was 36, which probably rules out attempted rape, was probably one of those legit reasons.

FREE GUCCI MANE

hip hop is on hiatus until his freedom

Danny Brown could make a nice living touring. Another reason we need hip hop mega festivals. Every summer. At outdoor venues. With cold Becks and hot sun.

that Banks song is pretty weak..

yeah, definitely not up to hfm2 or the blue friday tracks quality...

well the beat on haters is dope & the hook, other than that....... lmao

it's produced by scoop deville (This Weed iz Mine, I Wanna Rock), i don't know why producers waste fire beats on yayo lol, probably because they wanted to shop them to 50 if i had to guess.

Well G-Unit songs are beat plus hook and maybe a decent rapper as a feature..

also say this Wiz quote

It’s an appropriate title. It’s called Rolling Papers, like the papers that you roll, the papers that I roll, the papers that we smoke. But it’s deeper than that too.

I used to just put this shit on repeat:

Especially when the beat changes up halfway through. So good.
Is that the song about the asthma attack?(no speakers and I never remember names of songs) If so I absolutely agree, my second favorite song last year (only beaten by Ro's - These Days)

Btw. Some dude send me something via youtube thought I share, It's pretty good.

Wiz's album is perhaps the worst thing I've ever heard.

:EDIT: Can someone recommend me the best hip hop tracks that have been released this year so far? We don't get half the coverage you guys do in the states.

i was thinking we should do a monthly wrap up for summaries... i dont live in the states either and i dont listen to radio, not that aus has good stations, or have bet/mtv anything... i read magazines and check cd stores if i dont read up for stuff on the net so really alot of stuff i need to chase and when its some half assed rapper who released a good song amongst a wave of shit, theres a good chance i will miss it... let alone being slow to get on anything already old in the states

something like a wrap up would be useful every month or two

Great interview with Young Guru, Jay-Z's engineer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJx-TTYI

Says he's in London to listen to Jay Electronica's album, and also discusses him in general, Exhibit C, etc.

i haven't clicked but i pray to everything holy and unholy that he has nothing to do with the jay electronica album.

edit: here's a link that works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJx-TTYI8jQ

edit 2: good interview. i hope we get this electronica album in my lifetime.

My favourite so far:

Ghostface Killah - Purified Thoughts (feat. Killah Priest & GZA)

Big K.R.I.T. - Time Machine (Fantastic album as a whole)

Tyler The Creator - Yonkers

Not proud of this one:

Lil Wayne - 6 Foot 7 Foot

I really don't like Lil Wayne, but I think this shit is so good, so many one liners. I don't know why I like this track and absolutely hate A Milli.

I guess that's it for me... there must be more that I don't remember.

You can tell he's concerned about what Jay Elec is doing, album-wise.

I don't see why they coddle the dude so much. Is he that incapable of acting like an adult, in handling his business?

Young Guru is one of the richest cats in the game. After getting the Hova cosign he instantly became the highest paid engineer in hip hop. He's worth it too. Dude can work the boards like not other. Only Dre can rival his board work.

I didn't get that impression. Sounded more like he doesn't want the album compromised in terms of having a mainstream single/pop shit, but at the same time not being too underground.

The album will be dope, if it ever comes out. I just wonder if it's Act II or Act III

Nope, going straight into the album in a month or so.

6'7' goes hard as fuck. Still bumping that shit. Perfect song to return with. Doesn't get 'nuff love on here.

I think you're degrading horse shit in a bear's ass with that comment.

If you want something nonsensical to ride to then okay, I guess. I'd imagine with the right bass that shit could be filthy.
