I dont know why it took this long but we threw together tracks from the old EP and the newer LP and put it up on zhare.
With all this great hip hop in this thread you aren't going to find something amazing but it might be worth a laugh. It's free afterall.

21 tracks, I rap in english, partner raps in spanish. All production done by us. It's a fun album, we don't take ourselves too seriously but we try to throw in the occasional "serious" song.

Hey man, sometimes you need to "run" into a good "trainwreck" to straighten your head out
and hopefully start picking better beats for your albums.

Some fantastic new drops:

And Laws released a no-dj/deluxe version to a classic mixtape of his with a couple of bonus tracks

Laws – 5:01 Overtime (Mixtape)

I just finished listening to this.

HOLY SHIT WAS THAT AWESOME. So, so awesome. What else can you recommend like this?

Not many dudes with flows like Laws, this is pretty hard, but the closest is probably Quest though he doesn't have Justice League beats to rhyme over. Check out How Thoughtful posted on a previous page, you might like that.

Also:

Donnis - Diary of ATL Brave (You Probably Already Have This)

Feroz - Invisible Man

Skewby – Proving You Wrong Since 1988 (Mixtape) ( A Personal Favorite of Mine, though definitely more retro sounding)

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
I really with that Gilbere Forte album had songs more like the book end stuff, and less like the middle which seemed a little to much standard affair for my tastes. I really like the 1st track that remixes the Freelance Whales song 1st Floor though. Give me more of that please Forte!

I know I've been preaching the gospel of Gangsta Gibbs for a minute now but I'm really excited about his future and just to prep any slackers on his upcoming ep:

Dropping August 3rd:
sqEZP.jpg

01 Str8 Killa No Filla [ft. Big Kill]
02 Rep 2 Tha Fullest [ft. Jay Rock]
03 National Anthem (Fuck The World)
04 The Coldest [ft. B.J. The Chicago Kid]
05 Personal OG
06 Live By the Game
07 Rock Bottom [ft. Bun B]
08 Oil Money [ft. Chuck Inglish, Chip Tha Ripper, Bun B & Dan Auerbach]

Eight track EP from Gangsta Gibbs and Why should you care about Gangsta Gibbs?
He's one of the most exciting rising stars in the game right now with the lyrical capabilities and a dope flow. It's a return to that great gangster rap we've been missing for awhile now. You know, the shit that isn't completely commercialized or from the south only. He was actually dropped from Interscope a year or two ago simply because they didn't know how they'd sell his shit. Here's some of my favourite tracks:

YouTube - Freddie Gibbs - Boxframe Cadillac (This track got me into him in the first place)

YouTube - Freddie Gibbs - Pearly Gates (full) (This track is one of those perfect "bent up in the staircase" tracks)

YouTube - Freddie Gibbs "The Ghetto" OFFICIAL HQ UNCENSORED Music Video

YouTube - FREDDIE GIBBS - "What It Be Like" - HD Music Video OFFICIAL

YouTube - Skee Music Presents Freddie Gibbs "Womb 2 The Tomb" ft Pill - OFFICIAL HD Music Video HQ

YouTube - Freddie Gibbs - Bussdown

Here's a little blurb I did about one of his mixtapes that I love (theres also a dl link there):
Straight explosive; highly explicit. « Skeleton FUMES

Too many mixtapes and not enough good albums. Laws is good, haven't got a chance to check out much else. Skewby is good, Gibbs is alright, Nickelus F is most impressive.

So you think there's too much free music out there? Gonna have to disagree with you on that, especially given that there have been more than ten quality albums released already this year.

The ILLZ tape it better than 99% of pay albums released in the last 5 years. It's brilliant.

But I have to say a few of the mixtapes sound like they are made by rappers who sucked the style right out of lil waynes dick and are trying their best to be the next drake. Why anybody would want that I don't know.

It's not that I don't appreciate free music, it's just an individual thing. I haven't really been "wowed" by anything I guess. "Been there heard that" attitude; and I agree most albums have been great, I just hope it keeps going in that direction instead of fizzing out.

Something I found earlier that I got excited about:

I'm pretty LTTP on this one since they were only active from 90-97, but I'm glad I stumbled on it anyway.

Honestly there are plenty of rappers that don't fall into predictable topic cycles that have already been listed.

I just got into this today and it's pretty amazing. Especially the track "Come IN".

What's Gaf consensus on the latest Charles Hamilton releases.

Charles Hamilton is a joke, someone needs to set his recording booth on fire with him in it.

I'm so sorry to potentially shit up your thread with this, but my friend showed it to me, and I just felt compelled to show it...I just couldn't stop laughing, then I got kinda depressed. I heard a song a little while ago that I didn't think was the worst thing ever (digital?) but this....reminded me of why I just can't fathom...how anyone finds this entertaining, but different strokes for different folks I guess.

Yup. Condoms on the baby seat. Doing songs and becoming the employee of your arch nemesis. Ridiculous child support payments. Dissing Raekwon and not getting on the OBCL2. And now this.

I'm bumping Teflon Don. Definitely a hot album. I wasn't a fan of Ross' first two albums but Deeper than Rap, Anastasia and Teflon Don are definitely tight. He's replaced Trick as Miami's top rapper.

And I had no idea Green Lantern was sitting on unreleased jewels by Jay-Z. DP3 is definitely one of the last "old school" Jay-Z songs.

I laughed, but then cried. To redeem myself, I listened to this:

It evened it out.

You'd be surprised how many quality tracks were on Atlantis and A..., Autumn Harvest, and Well Isn't This Awkward. He walks a thin line between genius and insanity.

you know my input, charles hamilton is a very good artist. Im sorry but he is lyrically really good imo. Anybody that hates is just a hater. Sure he has some immature songs but when he is serous he is really good.

I have a question regarding an Adult Swim bump.

I have no idea what song it is, but it has a repeating piano in it. It's one of the newer bumps (from the past few months), so if any of you could help me find it, I'd be very grateful.

thats pretty vague but there is a fan site devoted to them bumpworthy.com and they have a message board where someone might know
