Jon Conner shouldn't have signed to Aftermath, that's the biggest problem. He can't release anything without a greenlight from the label, and has probably recorded hundreds of songs that will never be released. It's not an issue of being lazy, he doesn't control what comes out or when. IIRC he has released two mixtapes since signing to Aftermath, both of which aren't noteworthy (they continue his "rap over other people's beats exclusively" gimmick).
He released a lot of mixtapes sure, and they didn't garner much attention. However he never really did a project that demanded attention from rap fans. His album has some noteworthy features (Gibbs, Royce) but the production is forgettable. Doing a project with Black Milk would have made perfect sense but nope.
Same shit with Elzhi, man. You can't win while being from Detroit and not working with anyone.
Vince's album is 59 minutes long.
People just seem to weirdly get overwhelmed by 2-discs(!) when in reality it's standard length. It's way shorter than Kendrick's last two albums for example.
You could cut tracks from most albums, it's a meaningless critique when it comes to Summertime '06.
B4.DA.$$?When was the last time we had a real NY hip hop album?

Real average.
Agreed on both. Soul Glitch is dope.- Summertime 06 is rapidly becoming one of my favorite rap records ever. It's in the top 30, for sure.
- Daye Jack has a top 5 album of the year.

lmaoooo rock pls.lmao Jay Rock defending the hook to 90059 and saying the biggest thing he did for this album was experiment with his voice
"the fact that they said they didn't like it shows me they took their time out to listen to it so I appreciate that"
powerful
Norf Norf is a fucking ridiculously good song. Jesus. So many haunting lines that stick with you and that rugged ass beat.
"Police still scared cuz of niggas like me"
Really liked the album as a whole

Today in ridiculous celebrity baby names, Chicago rapper Chief Keef has made his newborn son a real-life billboard for his next album.
No, really — Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozart is the kid’s actual name, inspired by Keef’s current record label, FilmOn Music. (FilmOn .com is the label’s website).
The ridiculous Greek billionaire Alki David, who owns FilmOne, announced the ridiculous news with a ridiculous statement: “Alki David has announced that Chief Keef and his newest baby mama have agreed to name the newborn Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozart in order to promote the release of Sosa’s double album Bang 3 with FilmOn Music and MondoTunes on September 18th.”
"You're not even Troy Ave yet!"
FilmOn is a sketchy as fuck company.
They're the ones who came out of nowhere and put up the 100k+ for Cassidy to come back to battle rap and then just decided they didn't want to pay everyone else on the card on the day-of so they didn't and the promoter got put like 100k in the hole. Also apparently the employees are super racist.
dude gives absolutely no fucks
Guys, when I first posted here and filled out the questionnaire, I put Jay Rock as my most anticipated release.
What have I done?

I mean.. it's okay. I don't mind Rock's voice but his flow is pretty struggle here. Bars aren't there either.
