I mean, there are some definite duds on Slime Season and it's too long but I like it more than Barter. That one was like a 6.5 this is like 7-7.5

Gonna give What A Time a few more spins. I think Rodeo has higher highs than that tbh.

Rodeo >= DS2 > Barter 6 > WATTBA > Slime Season

Rodeo is much more well rounded, less misses and has more highs than DS2, but I can see people preferring the rawness and toughness of DS2 vs. the vibes of Rodeo, and there is always an overarching preference here for less diversity within projects.

Honestly not feeling Slime Season that much. So many of these songs are old as fuck and haven't really stood the test of time as well as Check, Never Had It or Halftime. Might even put WATTBA above Slime Season.

EDIT: Thinking twice, yeah, definitely Slime Season below WATTBA.

Rodeo>>>>>>WATTBA>=DS2>Slime Season.

Nothing on the other albums are really fucking with Rodeo tbh

90210,Impossible,Antidote,Ok Alright,Oh My Dis Side,POYG, Maria I'm Drunk are all Great. Such seemingly meticulously produced sounds. Surprised by how good it was.

If I didn't hear over half of Slime Season months ago it would've been the clear winner for me. Tracks 3 to 17 are dooope, and Best Friend is one of the best singles this year, possibly even better than Check. Unfortunately the leak stole some of that hype so Barter 6 is still on top.

Best friend goes. Might be my favorite YT track

Halftime is probably my favorite Thugger track.

If I was Cheddahz this is the part where I'd say it's better than Nas' Halftime.

Listening to some of "The Album about Nothing". It's funny that the album title pretty much sums up the release in a nut shell.

I did like The White Shoes though....

What a Time > DS2 = Barter 6 > Rodeo > Slime Season

I don't think Slime Season is all that amazing.
The new stuff is cool but they could've scrounged much better tracks from the leaks.

I still think Thugger's peak is The Blanguage. Few songs I've ever heard have flows and verses so perfectly tailored for a beat.

I'm not as familiar with all of his work but Future's peak is probably News or Somethin' for me, for similar reasons; maybe Lay Up or Stick Talk. Not gonna lie, even though I didn't really "get" future when he broke out, I bumped Tony Montana a LOT. Future really shines over production with keys.

La Flame's peak is probably still Bandz. Maybe Uptown or Quintana?

EDIT: This is carrying off of Courage's comment above and some brief discussion a few pages ago of these guys' peak.

Whew. So I'm not alone on What a Time.

I would put DS 2 over it, just because it feels like a more complete album for me, but yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot.

Really liked all 5 projects but if we ranking....

Slime Season > DS2 > Barter 6 > Rodeo > WATTBA

Slime is the best because I haven't heard the leak, and thats the main reason why it drops on ppl's lists. For my ears those were 15 new Thugga songs, in addition to Best Friend, Again, and Be Me See Me (who were released weeks/months before the tape dropped.) Love it.

DS2 is just flat out hype, and its been on my repeat since it dropped. Best productions this year IMO, and Fewtch blends it better than anyone that would try his style.
Classic?

Barter 6 is very different from the two above, but it shines on how chill it is. There aren't as many tracks where you just wanna swing your arms and jump around, but it hits me so well just because on how well Thugga blends with the very slow beats (when compared to Slime/DS2)

Rodeo is straight up dope production and the features on the album make it shine. Really like it too, but it aint top 3 since IMO, it falls off towards the end.

WATTBA is also hype af, but like I said before, no synergy aside from a couple of tracks. Ngl it might go higher with time

TPAB is my AOTY, and Black Dollar is on my top 5, bless

I do find the lowkey negative reaction to it a bit funny. Like what else did you expect out of a project with Drake and Future in 2015 other than what we got. 2 dudes at the top of their game meeting on the more workable soundscape to make bangers.

Drake also bring more of the memorable moments between the two so Im really not understanding the "hes just there" shit. Whatever. Too much of a good thing rub some folks the wrong way I guess.

I recently reviewed Anthony's impressions of Rodeo on my second forum home:

Anyway I totally forgot to discuss why Anthony's Travis Scott review really rubbed me the wrong. It all boils down to what I see as a discrediting of anything that can truly be associated with the trap lifestyle, if it's not some sort of bourgeois reinterpretation of the said lifestyle or genre. Anthony seems to almost reward Travis for stealing elements from other popular artists in his realm. For example, at one point he notes that Scott steals the entire cadence and melody of a chorus from one of the weaker songs on Future's earlier mixtape and yet this is seemingly seen as a positive rather than a negative note. Travis Scott's record isn't that much different from Dirty Sprite 2, and aside from some of the stellar production, the subject matter is also fairly similar though it's been sort of transmuted from these sort of moribund street references and lowly vices to upper class relishes and lavish lifestyles. Does Anthony consider Rodeo to be higher art because of it's supposition of class? Are true trap albums where Scott seems to be pulling all of these sounds considered to be lower on the artistic spectrum because the artists aren't associated with pretentious figures like Kanye West or the Hollywood lifestyle? I don't think that's what Anthony is purposely suggesting, but at times that's how it comes off to me. I think the funniest thing about Travis is how he actively seems to try and get collabs from the people he's swagger jacking almost seemingly as a way to conceal his theft.

..I was gonna take a hiatus from this place, but now I kinda feel like it's a cess pool without me so I'm staying forever

DS2 > Barter 6 > Slime Season >What a Time> Rodeo > Bang 3 BTW

Bang 3 is average which is only notable cause Keef spent the better part of 2 years being utter dogshit. We celebrating some semblance of a return to form.

breh this would align perfectly with my ranking but Bang 3 being worse than Rodeo? Granted, I haven't heard pt 2, but pt 1 was pretty damn good.

I actually agree with you, but I didn't want to seem like I was biased against Travis too much. Slime Season is dope, but it's not an album in any conceivable way, and I heard half the tracks prior to their release.

The only good answer. The best thing he has ever done.
I think if you're a true Blu fan you'll appreciate Her Favorite Colour as his true masterpiece, it's less bridled to the standard hip-hop formalities and is more emotive in just about every facet.
rip plug.dj sessions
I kinda want to plug right now!
Drake makes Future sound like Simple Jack on some of these songs.

What tracks are you listening to? They're rapping on stripper joints essentially, so the one that sounds more like a herb is the odd man out, and Drake is the odd man out on most of these joints besides maybe Scholarships.

Bitch post your last.fm and let me laugh at you.
I'm completely down.

Bang 3 is legit good and very concise as an album, even if it's in a cheesy way. I Just Wanna is one of my favorites tracks this year, his synergy with Mac Miller astonishes me.

I just can't say the same about Rodeo, even if I like some of the songs, as a whole project it's bad. It's not concise, there's no identity, it's just a bunch different beats and flows of a guys being out rapped by all the features, with one of them being Justin Bieber.
