Pretty much how I've gotten with vaporwave music honestly. I remember finding this マクロスMACROSS 82-99 to be amazing and then I decided to listen to the original and yeah.....I'm with Cheddahz, not down with vaporwave artists that don't do shit but digital crate dig and then basically just speed up the sample or slow down the vocals. I rather do the crate digging myself now and listen to the source material.

Dudes sounding like blog writers in here.could say the same about most samples in general. does it really matter if it sounds good tho?

What, the 3-4 years you were gonna dedicate to this genre are almost up? My goodness.
This isn't quite the same since it's more like ambient or whatever, but I really liked that 2814 album you posted near the middle of the year. You guys really don't know what we mean, there are some good vaporwave artists that really flip the source material and then there are really lazy ones that pretty much just get away with playing the source material as is because a lot of it is so obscure. I mean listen to how good the original of Kaoru Akimoto's masterpiece sounds:
Dress Down
The Vaporwave Mix
People sound like blog writers because they have strong opinions, fuck outta here with that noise, still miles better than sounding like that uninformed barbershop client in the back who always brings a 40 to the shop to watch cable because he doesn't have it at home.

Oh, you mean like how a lot of producers in this genre do? Well known ones, too. It's nothing you should be unfamiliar with. Trust me on this.
Now go put that in your Complex article.
VF: How do you juggle designing a collection with everything else you have going on?
YE: It’s family first. And then when I work on music, I’ll sequester myself and work on it with a team of three, four, or five really focused experts for two weeks at a time. And then with apparel, the office is right across from my house, so I go to the office every day.
VF: In terms of the soundtrack, was there a reason you chose that particular song, “Fade”?
YE: We had a couple options and I just thought it sounded good against the people. For the 40 theaters across the globe, for the kids that all went to see it in theaters, I thought they’d be happy to hear some new music. I’ve been doing that [making a new album] too. That’s like a sonic landscape, a two-year painting. That song I played has been a year and a half in the making and it may be still a year from being complete. But it was to let people get a glimpse at the painting.
VF: I know we’re here to talk about the fashion, but people are just a little bit interested in the album. It could be another year?
YE: I’m not sure. I’m not worried about the years. I’m worried about the life and the body of work that I can put out while I’m breathing.
VF: Then you’ve got to keep swimming. Is the album still called Swish?
YE: It’s currently called Swish. I’m forgetting even what the last name of it was now.
This is amazing.

I love that new Isaiah Rashad track. Nice laid back vibes.
New Apollo Brown is out there
Still using that fake vinyl effect I see
Yeah TPAB shook Yeezy
After the tweet about how it changed music and then Kanye going silent about his album. Dude is probably reworking every single track from the ground up.
Naw, not TPAB particularly maybe in a way. Drake too.ya'll really think this is what happened? im sure it affected him but how did you envision swish before, then?
Bryson Tiller and Big Grams leaked too!
What? The album is gonna go platinum and has plenty of discussion. You don't like the album but don't be ridiculous.i promise you aint nooooooobody worried about TPAB lmao. aint nobody trying to have an album that don't have any hits or get people talking.

except Kanye last time out, i guess
1) his recent singles are meh, and aint really poppin off
2) Cruel Summer, Yeezus, MBTDF were a big mess of different shit and he hasnt found the right group of writers and producers to shark
Ye talking about 'years' now
Kendrick stole this man's summer
ride for strip club music no one remembers a month later but dump on platinum albums that get chanted at protests brehs
TPAB/Kendrick shook Yeezy if you have followed basically zero information about Ye's project thus far and you follow Top on twitter.
Ye never had a firm release or concept in mind and he's been clear about not wanting to put something out just because he can. It's not really more complex than that, besides Ye feeling he's peaked musically and he needs to take his creative energy elsewhere, which is totally understandable if you are a creative person.
