I swear Barrel Brothers (Skyzoo and Torae) is one of the worst collabos I can think of in recent memory.

Sure they can rap but they might as well be the same person

Drake says this new warmth is not an accident—that he’s making a point of rapping over beats that are a little sunnier than he’s accustomed to in order to see if he can match the level of potency he knows he can achieve when working inside his gauzy, minor-key comfort zone.

“I love dancehall flows, especially as of late,” he says. “I pretty much won’t even rap on a beat unless it’s got some magic element of new tempo or new pocket, where I hear myself and feel like I’ve stumbled upon something new.”

Views gon' be trash, pack it up

The Fader interview is actually a really good read (and Drake's first in a while as far as I know). The snippets about Views have me hyped. Need 40 to bless that album.

The choice to stay local while working on Views was a response to growing up: at 28, Drake says, he has realized that some of his best friends may no longer be at a point in their lives to “chase me around the globe anymore.” Drake and 40, in particular, have had to renegotiate the terms of their partnership. “We’ve grown a lot over the years,” Drake says. “He used to be the guy that would track me in hotel rooms at 4 a.m. And now he is not that guy—I have another guy that does that.”

He needed 40 for Views, though, he says. “If I want to make the album I want to make, I have to go find him. I have to go sit with him, and we have to really put in effort.”

Perhaps not unlike the Future project, the tape was conceived as a palate cleanser, Drake says—a wild sprint he wanted to get out of his system before turning to the marathon that would be Views. “It was the set up to be able to return to working solely with 40, which is where I’m at now,” he says, explaining that the new album has involved collaborating more intimately with 40 than he has since Take Care. “I just wanted to be able to come back to that and have it be important.”

Chino is going too fast for the beat and Finale is going too slow.

Apollo is quality as ever though so far

yeah i much rather Drake keep going like he did this year than go back to 40. he should be beyond that at this point. i thought he found the right balance between rapping/singing with his post NWTS stuff.

going back to 40 mean its probably a few joints that are just outright skips cause he gonna struggle croon like a bitch on it.

Maybe Drake gave you guys an onslaught of bangers across two glorified mixtapes because he wants to, you know, grow as an artist on his actual album. God forbid he do anything different after feeding the streets all year.

The fuck you talking about breh

Drake + 40 is the best Drake combo on this planet; them working together is the best foundation for a solid album

Sounds like it's gonna be another mixture of sounds that don't add up to a cohesive project but still have those strong cuts you go back to all the time. I doubt he's gonna entirely give up trap bangers when his fans love those songs. At least he's ready to branch out sonically.

Tiller might be the best Drake clone yet

this is pretty good. I wish Don't was booming a bit more so this would actually do numbers. is he signed to anyone? a label could get that joint rolling if they tried cause everybody i played it for loves it.

Lol I knew you'd love this shit.

Here, folks, is the true differentiator between the BangerBro and the Soulja Girl. Marvel at BB's inherent like for anything Fetty and the utter disgust produced by the other. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and should be cherished for its purity.

What the hell at that Yeezus/TPAB discussion. I like Yeezus a lot but it's just a collection of bangerzzz.

TC still the best Drake album even though he's improved enormously as a rapper since then (although that excised outro on All Me from NWTS is one of the greatest). Looking forward to Views.

Mac Miller's album is solid IMO. Get rid of Perfect Circle/God Speed and ROS and you're left with ~14 good tracks. Not going to blow anyone away but I like it.

Rush Hour is the bounce Big Krit's been trying to (re)capture for years

Mac Miller is getting good reviews from people I fux with (like Toku) but dunno if I'm in a mood for "order horderves feelin kinda sore when it rains it pours, fucking Italians like a Moor" rhymes right now.
