Don't you guys think Days Before Rodeo is better than Rodeo? It has Skyfall, Mamacita, The Prayer, Drugs You Should Try It.. I mean I like Nightcall and Maria, but they're not as good as the good tracks on Days.

It has some decent highs but as a whole or considered as an album Slime Season sounds more polished and well composed and that's just basically Thugger leaks.

gotta say Barter 6 > Slime Season 2 > Slime Season

Honestly Slime Season 1 shouldnt be a thing. It's way too many leaked tracks and yet somehow my favorite leaked tracks still ended up on SS2.

Barter 6 is maybe 1 Check level banger away from being a blassic. The understated beats are the perfect template for what's Thugga best vocal performance over a whole album/tape so far.

DBR is easier to enjoy cause Travis aint going as ham on the beat changes.

The perfect album indeed, but SS2 is really close. I'm still formulating a critical opinion on it hype aside, but if anything I will just praise it even more. Just like I did with SS1, that has some of the best songs of his entire career but doesn't hold too well as a whole album.

I think I just love how WEIRD SS2 is, its like Thugger lost any and all fucks he may have given before.

Slime Season 2 is definitely >> the first. There's some quality production on this, pull up on a kid was instantly a long-term track when I heard it. plus flaws is easily one of the best songs to come out of the leak.

Oh Lord production is out if this world. By far my favorite. The song is a bit weak but I could listen to that hook all day.

I liked the Stereogum article on SS2, especially the part that analyzes one of the lines on Phoenix, which is one of my favorites from the tape.

On “Phoenix,” the eighth song on the new Young Thug mixtape Slime Season 2, Thug is talking to a woman, and he tells her this: “You can have my son, no Phoenix.” This is one of the most puzzling rap lines I’ve heard in recent memory, and the puzzling thing about it is, paradoxically enough, the clarification that it includes. Thug is talking to a woman about maybe the most serious thing you can talk about. He is saying, “Let’s bring another life into this world together.” He’s saying, “Let’s create a human being out of nothing. This is a journey that I want to take with you.” And he is also saying, “By the way, I am not referring to the Phoenix Suns, the professional basketball franchise. You might’ve been confused by the phonetic similarity between the words ‘son’ and ‘Sun,’ but don’t be. I’d just like to reiterate that the Phoenix Suns, the team that includes Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight and has a pretty good chance of making it into the competitive Western Conference playoffs this year — they’re not what I’m discussing here. Rather, I am referring to a baby.” That line is part of the song’s chorus, so Thug says it a bunch of times. He wants to make sure it comes across. That’s not a brilliant rap line or anything. Really, it confounds the entire idea of brilliant rap lines, since it operates on a whole different logic system than what you or I might use. But it’s a line that shows what kind of level Young Thug is working on. He doesn’t think like the rest of us.

As a whole though, SS1 > SS2, and that may be because I didn't listen to any of the leaks. Barter 6 is still better than both.

My favorite track off SS2. Didn't hear it in the leaks thankfully. The beat is so mean, and that great simple ass hook is already seared into my brain.

Agreed. Like I said before, SS 2 is just a really fun listen.
