Shadow of A Doubt is a Freddie Gibbs sample platter. There's no real sonic or thematic through-line beyond braggadocio drug raps, but you get a little bit of every part of his style from Gangsta Gibbs, to wavy Money Clothes Hoes melodies, to 2009-2010 low key introspection, and even a bit of Pinata style MadGibbs on Extradite. It's all over the place but Gibbs' flow is so damn strong it doesn't matter. Dude hops on any style of production and owns the track, even the back to back helping of derivativeness in Mexico and Packages.

One of the most enjoyable first listens I've had in 2015, and maybe my favorite opening and closing stretches of the year. It's better paced than any album he's done aside from maybe Pinata, the weed carries are kept to a minimum, the production is equal parts banging and wavy; Instant top 3 album. Another year, another dope Freddie Gibbs project.

This is usually where I'd list my standout tracks, but 12 of the 15 are some of the best he's done so far. Pockets ain't empty, cuh, and we ain't hawngry no mo either, bruhs.

I feel the same, great listen. Mexico is pretty redundant, same-ish material but covered better but Packages? Man, Gibbs jumps on the ATL wave and completely flips the fuck out. Hook isn't that strong though which lets it down but it's sure to get some burn on my gym playlist. The last run is just, wow. Freddie Gordy has been on repeat for half an hour. The first 6 tracks are crazy too. What the fuck is wrong with this guy? God damn

Alchemist's Retarded Alligator Beats gets better with every listen. Some serious earbugs on this.

Man, I totally forgot about that and Isreali Salad, even though I bumped them hard around release. Gonna play both today.

Just too much good stuff this year - almost too much. I'm sure I will have forgotten half of my favorite records by the time we're doing our AOTY lists.

I hate to admit this but I've never listened to a full Redman album. So what's his best? I've got Dare Iz A Darkside, Whut? Thee Album and Muddy Waters. Wondering what is his best. Started Whut? Thee Album right now.

I have listened to both Blackouts so that won't be necessary to list. Love the first, really like the second one except for a few tracks.

Whut? Is pretty good so far. Will hit up Muddy Waterz next.

I'm still loving that Michael Christmas you posted here recently - thanks, bruh. Probably will have an AOTY spot.
