Wolves wasn't off the Drake project, they just share a name. I pretty much agree with everything here though.

Kanye is pretty ecstatic right now that he's cool with Drake again. They've both been very careful not to throw anything out together despite this being a pretty big reconciliation as far as industry relationships go and we know they've hit the studio multiple times. I'd be shocked if Ye isn't on VFT6, and if he isn't I think they might be working on Wolves that they can fuck the world up with a sudden release.

Given that realistically Swish/SHMG has the potential to be Kanye's last album "on top" in terms of popularity, he's probably relieved that Drake isn't coming after him knives out. Regardless of what anyone's individual opinions on Kanye and Drake might be, I think most reasonable people can see that Drake is absolutely the "new" Kanye in terms of massive popularity and media attention. My crystal ball says that Kanye releasing an album with Drake in the next few years would feel a lot like Jay's presence on WTT in 2011.

There are so many possible things going on with it right now that I've basically removed it from my radar. I doubt we'll get anything soon. Maybe we'll get it before the end of the year, but I'm not holding my breath.

It seems like he's mostly just having trouble finding a through-line between all of the stuff he's been working on. If you listen to All Day, I Feel Like That, Wolves, and Only One, and perhaps mix in some of the snippets of Piss On Your Grave and whatever that track with "can you be/can you be" on the hook is called... none of these sound like they're from the same project. None of them really sound bad, mind you, but they're pretty thematically muddled. We know Wolves was originally for some postponed or axed project with Drake. We know he obsessed over All Day for so long other artists working with him began to comment on it (we also know that, despite that live performance being one of the best thing's he's ever done, the CDQ hasn't set the world on fire). We know he's executive producing a ton of albums, and a lot of them have been hot garbage. We know he's played a ton of new songs for people at afterparties and stuff. There's new material out there, there just isn't an *album*.

I mean, shit, if the album really is still on track to have ten songs, that means we've heard Wolves, All Day, I Feel Like That, and Only One. That's nearly half of the album. Do you want that album? I'm not sure I do, and I'm a massive Kanye stan.

Kanye can take his time at this point IMO. Or shit, get Drake back on board and let him do the heavy lifting and just release canadian WTT while he recharges for a proper album.
Agreed on all this.

I'm actually hoping that it'll take a while at this point tbh. Wolves was interesting, but all the other recent tracks were average at best to me. Would be disappointed if all that ended up as a third of the final album.

Also, a Drake / Kanye WTT type thing would be so dope.

What albums are you guys looking forward to for the rest of the year?

We got Deerhunter, Joanna Newsom, James Blake albums coming up. Hiphop-wise we got VFT6, Jay Rock, Metro Thuggin, Juicy J.
James Blake, Views from the 6, new Neon Indian, Sky Ferreira, Jay Rock, Sir Michael Rocks, maybe Kanye.

Edit: also Dear Tommy by Chromatics is right up there with Views from the 6. Could drop at any time really.

Kanye said himself Yeezy Season is over and it's all Drizzy Season now, I think him being on top of the game is past him at this point. MBDTF was his thesis and the closing of that chapter. From here onwards it's going to take being much more open minded about what he's doing and having faith in his creative perspective to enjoy his music, because he's also said he thinks he pretty much hit his ceiling musically, so he's probably approaching making music much differently now.

Drake and Kanye were on bad terms?
It was brewing beforehand but Ye felt some type of way about some light shots Drake took at WTT, 40 insulted Kanye, etc. It was under the radar because they kept it that way and media usually shut themselves up before they got into talking about it.

This is how I feel myself there's a lot of people coming out with projects that I'm excited for Ye just needs to take his time and make sure it's his best.

I'd add Pusha, Future (Ape Shit), Mac Miller, Game, Travis Scott.......

Isn't young thug's whole career just a mess of ownerships and contract signings? Last I heard Birdman and a few others have ownership over his stuff

Tory Lanez on Sway In The Morning.

Yo.. how this R&B dude spit such a hot freestyle? Goddamn that caught me by surprise.

He mentions he put up $10k for Drake to listen to his mixtape at 16 and Drake could keep the money if he didn't like it. Also how he avoided the OVO situation because he wants to build himself and his own team. I can respect that considering signing to OVO is pretty much exactly like signing to modern Bad Boy.

yo this dude even went to high school near me, what. Hope he makes it further than D-Pryde, lol
