Nah, I'm not excited about anything he does anymore. He hasn't dropped anything good since his eponymous EP, other than Yep with Rome maybe. He already said he's turning his back on the energetic banger nature of the EP, so I'm gonna turn my back on him. Him being an idiot on Twitter made that easier for me.

What albums are you guys looking forward to for the rest of the year?

We got Deerhunter, Joanna Newsom, James Blake albums coming up. Hiphop-wise we got VFT6, Jay Rock, Metro Thuggin, Juicy J.

Also a new Lupe is welcomed.

I'm hoping that Sky Ferreira drops her new album this year, but I'm really excited for the new Skylar Spence, Sir Michael Rocks (and both of those come out next month), Drake, and Metro Thuggin

Probably slowly turning into Detox, where he can't find a single sound he wants to cut the album along. At least that's my guess given the singles, snippets and some comments Travis and others have made. Ye also seems to have a fixation for wanting to release stuff before the summer so when he doesn't pick things back up until winter again. Hopefully the name change is also symbolic of a change in direction.

Dude played like 20 songs at some party a year and a half ago, about as many at Def Jam many months ago, etc. Early this year he was all like ima drop this shit ASAP, but recently he said I'm taking my time. For the better, I guess.

s/o to me having the OT for that album done for over a year now and it still hasn't come out

There are so many possible things going on with it right now that I've basically removed it from my radar. I doubt we'll get anything soon. Maybe we'll get it before the end of the year, but I'm not holding my breath.

It seems like he's mostly just having trouble finding a through-line between all of the stuff he's been working on. If you listen to All Day, I Feel Like That, Wolves, and Only One, and perhaps mix in some of the snippets of Piss On Your Grave and whatever that track with "can you be/can you be" on the hook is called... none of these sound like they're from the same project. None of them really sound bad, mind you, but they're pretty thematically muddled. We know Wolves was originally for some postponed or axed project with Drake. We know he obsessed over All Day for so long other artists working with him began to comment on it (we also know that, despite that live performance being one of the best thing's he's ever done, the CDQ hasn't set the world on fire). We know he's executive producing a ton of albums, and a lot of them have been hot garbage. We know he's played a ton of new songs for people at afterparties and stuff. There's new material out there, there just isn't an *album*.

I mean, shit, if the album really is still on track to have ten songs, that means we've heard Wolves, All Day, I Feel Like That, and Only One. That's nearly half of the album. Do you want that album? I'm not sure I do, and I'm a massive Kanye stan.

Kanye can take his time at this point IMO. Or shit, get Drake back on board and let him do the heavy lifting and just release canadian WTT while he recharges for a proper album.

On point. Exactly what I've been assuming, too. This is the first time he doesn't seem to have a clear vision. Really curious to see what it will turn out to be.

It's really good. The song sounds so much better with that energy and all that reverb from being performed live.

Wolves wasn't off the Drake project, they just share a name. I pretty much agree with everything here though.

Kanye is pretty ecstatic right now that he's cool with Drake again. They've both been very careful not to throw anything out together despite this being a pretty big reconciliation as far as industry relationships go and we know they've hit the studio multiple times. I'd be shocked if Ye isn't on VFT6, and if he isn't I think they might be working on Wolves that they can fuck the world up with a sudden release.

I have a feeling that a general divided focus is getting to Ye right now, and he knows it. He admit to failing both Big Sean and Teyana Taylor in that respect, and a lot of the projects he helped oversee like Bang 3 and The Gold Album took forever to come out and to little fanfare, basically no one knows what the state of the adidas line is at this point, his solo singles sound all over the place etc. Then he's done one offs for French, Madonna, Rocky, Vic Mensa, Theo, etc etc.

He just needs to get to the point where he says fuck everything else and sets up a camp to finish the next album.
