that Future/TNGHT thing was dope. it's weird to see HudMo getting shine because he's been at it for a while, especially for this wack shit. he can do much better than that.

King Wizard 3.4 million views on Vevo, Just What I Am has 4.3 million and my shit is not on regular rotation on radio. Hmmm. Trinidad James got 4.1 million views on his hit (rightfully so), and I hear that jam EVERYWHERE. Wheres my fuckin spins??? Im talkin numbers. Im talkin stats. To my label, I swear to all that is fuckin holy in this world, if things dont change soon, theres gonna be some problems. I worked too hard on all this shit. Producing, writing, directing AND executing the shit proper. I did my part, I put in work. Wtf. Yall kno I cuts no slack. Not w my music. Every song is my life. A piece of my fuckin tormented soul. It matters to me. I give a fuck. Done goin off and snappin my head side to side.

...Also Maino made a wack ass song dedicated to Molly over Scarface's Mary Jane beat.

Im still not a Cudi believer. What does he think that rant is really going to do tho? All hes gonna do is piss the label off and take longer to get what he wants.

If they don't just drop his ass. You think there aren't a million people who wouldn't want his access to beats and marketing budgets? Anybody could recite shitty poems over some of those beats and move his numbers - clearly. He needs to just shut up, stop Budden-ing himself and go ask Kanye for another track or two.

its fucking impossible to get your name out there now with such an over saturation of producers. ive been emailing a&r every day trying to get some placements.

btw any of you know of any nice labels a&r reps on twitter?

You need to know more than that. You need a crew and proof samples and legit market muscle. The talent is here.

Let's organize and get y'all paid.

For instance, the mixtape? Really, why is this not a thing yet? Everybody has a soundcloud. Not too many people have full projects and the ability to sell that project on a professional level.

Shit is doable.

agreed. its real tough.

The best way, imho, is to spam D level rappers, im talking sub 20k followers on twitter, with beats and hope they blow up, taking u with them. I've gotten responses on twitter from a few rappers that way. The a&r game is brutal though.

I agree that that sounds awesome- but how would that get made lol?

What do you mean? You mean how would that help the tape from being completed? It wouldn't really but it would stop people from being disappointed from everytime we act like we are going to do one. We would just talk about song ideas and such through emails and PM

Maccadonna on the cover art

Ace, Peter and Caco on the production. The talent is all over the place on actual wordplay. Macca on art. I'll bring my marketing experience to bear.

The ingredients are there. We going to cook this meal or just talk about other peoples plates?

a Gafhop tape is not going to get any attention lol

You definitely wouldn't call it that, for starters. And have you seen some of the shit that gets by? You don't think you're a better producer than whoever does the filler beats for generic rap crew 10043?

Of course you wouldn't call it that...Maybe like Booth Invasion, Hosted by DJ ACE. The cover would feature a DJ booth with a guy scratching a record shaped like a girl's ass and an MPC with jewels for buttons

this sounds like a plan.

either that or get on w/ some local cats (idk where you live) and build your own movement from the ground up.

shit, mike will started out giving his beats away for free because you have to establish that track record. if a record blows up enough you'll get paid on the back end (see Plain Jane).

if nothing else you can try Lil B lol. he always needs new beats and a few of the newer cats (Clams, Beautiful Lou) have raised their profile from him.

The CuDi rant a few days ago where he was RTing people about how shit WZRD was was some pussy shit. Y'all know I'm a CuDi stan but he was straight up being immature about people not liking something SO DIFFERENT and SO TERRIBLE compared to what you built your fanbase on.

It blows. Remember a dude who had like 5 seconds of miiiiiiinor minor internet blog shine a few years ago, called Marky? Sent him a ton of stuff, he might have used em later bc we went back and forth for a minute, but prob not because his flame burnt out super fast. Same thing has happened a few other dudes.

Honestly though, you're beats make way better of a first impression than mine (just bein honest), so who knows.

I am with all of this

One thing that could be super dope if some MCs are down is I could do a 15 to 20 min mix of some made instrumentals like my mix tapes and we spit verses on them

The game is about positioning and consistency in how you present yourself as an artist. Sending off beats to artists' Twitter's and all is great. It sometimes gets you noticed. But they don't hold the real power. The people who put the records together, they make a ton of those calls. And they don't listen to any fool who approaches them on the street.

If you have an actual professional product, you'll be ahead of most of the idiots hitting them up all the time.

1) Tape. Can't do shit without a proof source.
2) Web presence. Same as above, at least from the marketing aspect of it.
3) Time. Nothing will happen overnight, or the first, second or 12th time you try something. And yeah, you will often get one shot with anybody. Nobody has time for anybody who doesn't have their shit together.

Anyway, it's late and I've been working since 5am. I'm barely cogent at the moment.
