Not best of the year, but I like it. For whatever reason gaf-hop has a stable of artists that they aren't allowed to like and Azealia Banks is on that roster, but I think she definitely has her moments.

I never understood the "gaf hop hive mind" argument given that we're arguing and shitting on each other for various reasons all the time. Azealia Banks just sucks, I wish she didn't suck but suck she does. She's like game, she has decent skills and picks some OK beats but her terrible personality oozes forth like a shart in a pair of fresh pants in every single piece of music she makes.

I never understood it either. It's actually quite annoying to see people act like they know who we like and dislike then decide to bunch us all together. Like I am sure if both Domino and Thabiz named their top 5 so far it would be completely different.

I can't help but read that as anything other than an acknowledgement that there is an understood umbrella of artists that gaf-hop generally likes/dislikes and that Azealia falls in the "dislike" pile. On the opposite side of the coin, for example, it's rare to find someone here who doesn't like Deniro Farrar. I don't think any of this is really controversial and acknowledging it doesn't make us all band-waggoners or whatever the implication seems to be, it just means most users have similar taste.

Sure, but like I said originally it's only a certain group of artists where there is an overwhelming consensus. I never meant to imply that our tastes across the board are nearly identical.

As I mentioned earlier about Angel Haze, I think she'd be a much more interesting artist if she had less attitude in her voice and more of this side of her came through in her music. So far, though, her music doesn't do much for me.

Yeah, when I listen to Azealia I don't hear the egotistic, shit-starting side of her that much and generally I enjoy her stuff. When I listen to Angel Haze, I don't hear the dry, somewhat high-brow humor side of her and I generally don't enjoy her stuff. Sage Francis said something like "My music is better than me" once and I think that definitely rings true for some artists.
