Mercy definitely deserves top 10 in the past 5 years. It's put together so well. Only really came around to all the nuances it has this year.
That Complex list isn't terrible since there are a lot of hot beats on there, but I would find it hard to order hot beats myself considering all the different styles I like. Clams' Always Have A Choice would be up there though. Maybe Double 07 from Covert Coup.

I'm from little Stafford VA which isn't far from DC so that's nice. I go to school in Blacksburg though so occasionally I'll make the trip to NC for concerts in greensboro and the like

That's about right as far as I know.
Even though SFG isn't his major label debut, I consider Lust For Life his best opener. But nonetheless, I hope this delivers. I even grew to enjoy SFTB after the music video for that song dropped.
