I saw your post earlier then I had to check out their old shit first.
I wanted to like that old overdoze more than I did. The album cover made it seem like the exact kind of album id love, but I remember finding the production underwhelming. It's been a long time since I listened though. Maybe it's time for a revisit.

On a hip hop related note, did anyone else hate that fucking young dro album a much as I did? Dude is just boring as fuck. The very definition of a generic thug rapper with nothing to say and no talent to be original or interesting in any way. Definitely in contention for worst album of the year for me.

Lol honestly I have no idea why I got it. I must have been in one of my " get as much new music as I possibly can!" moods and he got swept up in that. But when I started listening to it I just wanted to give up on rap music forever.

Sounds like my experience with the Yo Gotti album. I like his old mixtapes, but this label album he put out is just so disappointing. It's sounds like he didn't even try.
I can't hate on Chingy. His existence led to Holiday Inn. Its amazing for that Luda verse.

I keep reiterating it and nobody will listen (understandably), but the first Young Dro album is super fucking dope and sounds nothing like Shoulder Lean. Just based off of what the South was like at the time and his single, I never expected going into it that it'd have so many dope beats, introspective songs, and bangers all in one package.
What makes it worse is like none of the songs are even on YouTube or available online, so I can't even link to examples.
He became shit pretty quickly though when he started dressing like a golfer and shit, and obviously he didn't have the biggest name/rep in the first place.
