BOATS2 has more high moments that I initially gave it credit for, but there are also way too many boring as fuck low points on the album. If I could rate it just on the good tracks it would be one of my favorite albums of the year. But as is, it's just average as fuck.

Yup, feel the same way. I do it was the biggest grower on me. I saw the guest list and immediately dismissed it. It doesn't help that it starts so slow. Now it's one of my favorite songs of the year. That beat...damn.

Employee of the month is odd to me. Great fucking beat, like the hook, but it has some of the worst verses 2 chainz has ever spit.

I can understand this viewpoint. I just don't think a lot of the variety worked. A lot of boring beats. And 2 chainz, while never being lyrical spectacular, seems to have taken a huuuuuuge step back lyrics wise on BOATS2.

Listening to Stay Trippy from track 1 till the end buts me to sleep quick. But when I put it on random and shuffle it up, suddenly it becomes one of my favorite albums of the year.

BOATS II is a grower. Like, I don't NEED to compare the two projects because 2 Chainz delivered what I wanted either way, but I go back to less songs on BOATS I even though those (Crack, I'm Different) are probably the best of his career. And the stretch from Fork to U Da Realest is just impeccable quality. Only listen to Livin as far as songs after that goes.

BOATS 1 had some of my favorite 2Chainz songs ever, but 2 is just a much better packaged overall to me. I feel like he carried himself A LOT better on the non trap beats than what was in the first album.
