Harry Fraud Rolling Stone Interview

But the upper echelons of the rap industry are littered with hit-makers for hire. Big name beatsmiths are added to an artist's album as much for marketing cachet as for improving the listening experience. Beats and verses are hurriedly sent back and forth across the Internet; often the artists never meet. Harry Fraud has made hits at this level — "Shot Caller" ruled New York City radio in 2011; he can list Pusha T and Juicy J in his production resume — but he insists the anonymity of the back-and-forth file sharing is not for him. He admits that hit records can be made this way, but reiterates that his best work comes about when he gets to forge a personal relationship with the artist. From that, the creativity flows naturally

Fuck does Jay know It's 2013 not 2002?

Jay fucking went the fuck in on that. Like destroyed that shit. Ross was alright. The beat sounded like an old Kanye track too. Maybe it gave Jay an Alzheimer's flashback and shit.

Track is dope

...... Yeah this Ross beat is wack. Waste of a great jay verse (them shits is rare these days). I could see this on the album but as a single? Ross should know better.......

Also Jay talking up his barnays connection trying to reframe it as if it was something to be proud of is dissapointing. Trying to relate Barnays to VIM (or as I call it "very immature male") is even worse, but like I said earlier the worst part is it was a good Jay verse over that beat.

BREHS

Jay crushed the building with that verse. Damn.

damn shame the drums are so weak though...reminds me of that 3 Kings beat on GFID in terms of it needing a better...sheen, dunno.

Rap nerds have speculated whether “The Language” is a subliminal response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” Is it appropriate to put those two records side by side?
I don’t ever want to get into responses. It’s a commitment to go there. “The Language” is just energy. What it was inspired by, I’m sure that, and other things. It’s just me talking my shyt. I never once felt the need to respond to that record. The sentiment he was putting forth is what he should have. Of course you wanna be the best. Where it became an issue is that I was rolling out an album while that verse was still bubbling, so my album rollout became about this thing. What am I supposed to say? Nah, we’ll be buddy-buddy? Mind you, I never once said he’s a bad guy [or] I don’t like him. I think he’s a fucking genius in his own right, but I also stood my ground as I should. And with that came another step, which then I have to realize I’m being baited and I’m not gonna fall. Jordan doesn’t have to play pickup to prove that he could play ball, no offense. But I’m not gonna give you the chance to shake me necessarily, ’cause I feel great. There’s no real issue. It’s tough because the people wanna see us tear each other down; I don’t wanna give them that. There’s no point. I have no ill feelings toward that guy. It’s just like, it’s there for me if I wanna fall for it. I’m just too smart for that. Hopefully it’s the last time I gotta talk about this, ’cause every time I open my mouth up about it, they take this piece and take this piece. And he’s hungry, so he’s going to do what he has to do like the BET [cypher]. But again, it’s not enough for me to go. We haven’t seen each other [since the BET cypher,] but I’m sure we’ll see each other and it’ll be cool. And if it’s not, then I guess that’s how our story unfolds.

Drake just called himself the Jordan of rap and that he's too big to respond. This shit is on you enablers who buy his shit. Hope your proud of yourselves.

I shit on Drake a lot but that isn't a corny response to me. He should of said that in the beginning (or after the BET cypher) and kept it moving. He is not a battle rapper and survived common shitting on him by avoiding conflict. Why switch up the tempo with kendrick. Yeah it might not be very Hip Hop but its an effective dispute resolution technique everywhere else.

On the flip side he might be seeing his subliminal verses are not garnering the response he wanted (a lot of people think his verse on sh!t was shit) and this is him throwing in the towel (and potentially the title as best pop rapper of the era) and moving on. I mean shit this beef had him trying to make a an 80's action movie as a video for a song with the hook "your a good girl and I know it".
(Worse video of the fucking year lol)
If he keeps fucking around with Kendrick he's going to end up as Ja Rule making clap back songs and going broke.

I'd respect that Drake comment a lot more if he had not responded with his sissy disses. If you don't have to play pick up games, why are you playing them? Dude is so heated he can't help but constantly contradict himself. I thought he said Control was a fleeting moment no one would remember, so why is he still responding to it months later?

It's a very reasonable response aside from the Jordan bit, only peterb0y would cosign a comparison that off-base lol

I think he got emotional because he felt he did Kendrick a solid on poetic justice..... But the control verse wasn't that bad of a diss it was more like a jab at everybody. Like I said if he had said this and kept it moving he would be in a better place career wise than where he is now after all the passive aggressive bullshit that led to the lightskin memes and the more direct drake memes.

how does Drake not take home biggest L of the year? come on.

sure Yeezus is a mentally crippled baby and Game has video proof that he loves hugging other shirtless men named Chris Brown with their pants below their underwear, but Drake...

we all know who the clear victor this year truly is.

He still sold mad records, and ran radio harder than anyone in the genre that isn't named Macklemore and that includes Jigga. It's Kanye or MMG bro. Pick one.
