eh, we got two different meanings on how an L can be taken. catching mad feelings off a throwaway track? pretty fuckin' bad. even as bad as MMG fucked up this year. Kanye will Kanye. If you touch him like that, you’re gay.’” Yet next to these displays heightening ignorance and intolerance was a comparatively more benign stigma, cooties, represented by a photo of a young girl.

Sorry about the constant melodrama. Guy that did it seemed nice, but didn't have a damn insurance card. The police apparently didn't ask him for his insurance information even after citing him...And now I'm stuck with a police report that doesn't have shit on it and bus rides to work every morning in a business suit. But at least I had fun.

Gonna try and stay away from old stuff because generally a lot of that shit doesn't stand up lyrically today and active battle rappers that people can follow.

Plus fuck Murda Mook after that Iron Solomon battle. Washed up has-been. 5 rounds of snoozeworthy material over an hour, no thanks.

Also I am mad URL-biased, but they have a ton of classics that will keep people's attention throughout. Still got some other leagues throughout.

Someone I know just brought up his view that Mackelmore took advantage of the LGBT agenda to get himself exposure. I never really thought about it that way but I guess I can understand coming at it from that cynical viewpoint that he doesn't really give a shit, he's just using it to help his career.

Wait that didn't occur to you until now? I thought that the moment I heard he was supporting the cause. LGBT rights is in my opinion the second biggest theme going on in America next to healthcare. And arguably has far more proponents than Healthcare reform.

It really didn't. Which is odd because I'm the type of person who immediately thinks about the worst case scenario/cynical view point even if I don't end up believing it, I almost always consider it right off the bat. No idea why I didn't in this case.

The song did sound sincere and you being out the country you are probably not exposed to the same media sources that I am that bring up the topic daily. Keep in mind that could of just inspired the song but idkthe timing of the song made me cynical towards it.

Well, probably because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you look at the facts. I know I'm stereotyping myself here, but fuck it.

Same Love was the fourth single. Thrift Shop and Can't Hold Us already had him near platinum and he was already catching endorsements from the NBA and other places before Same Love was released.

Can it be argued that he may be doing the cynical thing? Sure. But considering his success was locked in before that song ever caught the eye of the Grammy committee, I think it's equally fair to say that they're using their success to give their opinion a platform.

EDIT: And Wing$ had the 'I don't normally listen to rap' crowd on lock before Same Love, too.

And yeah overcast, it definitely did. One of my friends back in the US who has maintained a strong hatred of hip hop her entire life just posted pictures of herself going to a Mackelmore concert with her goddamn mother. I'm talking a 30 year old rap hating hippie and her 50 year old mom going to a rap concert, bizarre.
