Yeah I liked it a lot. It's hard to follow Steams at times but he's dope. Check out Ahdi Boom vs. Mr Wavy, that was my first time watching Ahdi Boom and Mr Wavy came with it to IMO. One of the better PG battles that has released recently.
Lux has barely battled on camera, but he's a legend from the Smack DVD days, and his previous showing was also a complete and utter body bag that put Miles out of work for years. It's not hard to watch everything he's put out since theres so little: battled Midwest Miles, Murda Mook, 7-win streak on 106 & Park, and Calicoe. I wasn't around for the Smack DVD era but from pretty much all the cyphers you can watch online and shit, how he's basically fathered and hand picked most of the legitimate talents or innovators, and all of his peers that he used to scrap with are legends as well, he has pedigree thats not hard to believe.
The last time he battled on camera was 7 years ago vs. Midwest Miles. He cooked that boy and IMO I like that straight bars style Lux better.
Bonus clip of Cassidy getting scared and walking out when Lux gets in the cypher, especially after feeling the generic shit other dudes were saying.
EDIT: I love the Miles battle so much.

Attack on Titan is fucking garbage. You should know better. The manga has THE worst art I have ever seen in some official non doujin shit. Both it and the anime rely on bullshit twist after twist M.Night Shyamalan fluff. The only thing going for it is the level of violence. The twists aren't even interesting. IT's straight up the shit you dont think you should expect to expect that happens. It's never interesting. Pretty much every other shounen shit ppl make fun of going on right now is better than it (Naruto, One Piece, Bleach) and I'm way behind/gave up on those fucking years ago.

No irish, Attack on Titan is garbage and you should feel bad. The plot won't deliver next season. Just don't watch anime. What you do is wait for shit to run it's course and pick shit up. Get a good two year buffer going and you good or don't make bones about what you're watching. Attack on Titan is "dark" the way a Tyler, The Creator album is dark.
Berserk is dark
Evangelion is dark
RahXephon is dark
Zeta Gundam is dark
Attack on Titan is violent. That's it. It's hyper-violent.

mind you this is not nihilism on the scale of berserk where the only representatives of god are things from Hellraiser movies who enjoy human torture & suffering and your only chance against them appears to be becoming a demon or a skull knight or some shit but i do think it qualifies the world as bleak, if not dark. cast members can be viciously killed at any moment, as life is cheap in their world - simply because it counts as shonen or the kids in Off Topic tell you it's not cool because lots of people watch it does not negate these things

But it's totally overblown. Not a single thing about Titan is subtle or menacing. Outside of the first few eps/chapters where its like oh shit everyone is afraid. Then they spam you with OH GOD REACTION WIDE EYED FACE TO SOMEONE GETTING EATEN THAT YOU DIDN'T EXPECT TO DIE HORRIBLY ONLY YOU DID BECAUSE THIS IS LIKE THE EIGHT GUY YOU DIDN'T EXPECT TO DIE UNEXPECTANTLY TO DIE JUST LIKE THAT.
Berserk works because not only is the world absolutely brutal, its more restrained. It's not just people getting eaten. It's men visiting horrific violence on other men, and then sometimes it's gods and monsters. Miura's world is fully realized. It has politics and shit going on outside of the fantastic. You take out God Hand shit and the demons and you still have child rape/molestation (lest we forget that Guts is a victim of this), just straight up rape and horrible deeds in general. Berserk's world is hopeless, bleak and dark only because they keep taking it away from us. For every triumphant moment, we learn where troll comes from (FUCK!).
I guess this is the mistake whoever made AoT made. Where Miura tends to establish a bit of hope before take it right away from you, AoT starts out completely hopeless. Humanity lives in a small country walled off with few establishment outside, most of which are basically gone at this point since the titans have ratcheted up their attack ont he wall to a big degree. Where do you go from there? Oh right, the very obvious titans are some how the humans who have died/being eaten being transformed into it w/e. Something I pretty much predicted from the first fucking episode/chapter.
Attack on Titan about to be some bullshit on transendence or w/e Watch. Garbage.
On RahXephon, I like it more than Evangelion which I always considered melting pot religious iconography bullshit (angels, crosses, dudes relaitonship with his father and his relationship with literally every woman in the show, lol plz). Eva is hollow shock hype entertainment (haha Attack on Titan!) Eva's creator's contempt for his audience doesn't help either (and he does hate eva fans (and anime fandom in general), this is well documented and written about). At least RahXephon tries to build an emotional connection with characters and the audience which is greatly appreciated. I despise ironic bullshit (das racist, childish gambino et al)

...alright, that was a good post man. i wanted to say Berserk's been at it forever now but honestly, the world is even more fleshed out (and detailed) even early on when it clearly felt like even Miura wasn't certain what scope he was going for. it's a go-to for examples of darkness (for reasons you just highlighted) but it's also a pretty high bar in my book, so point taken.
I still find AOT entertaining but that's because i don't take it terribly seriously as an action thing, and again i wish i had something better going but i don't. its clear now that you're dead-on about the people as titans plot point, i think i'm waiting to see the motive they have before cashing out though, as that'll make or break my enjoyment personally.
i was more forgiving with over religious studies 101 symbolism in the late 90s with Eva, Xenogears etc but yeah it's pretty tired now...and ive heard Eva's creator not only has that disdain but kinda snapped/went crazy because of some deal where the publisher was embezzling tons of $ and they barely had the budget to finish the original series or something like that? anyway, putting your recommendation on the list, thanks man.

Eva fandom has always been weird to me because from jump I always felt like Shinji was a critcism of otakus and otaku culture. Refusal to grow up, shirking of responsibilities even when the so much is at stake etc etc. Xenogears gets a pass from me since its kind of a "wow fuck you church/christianism" as someone who spent a large portion of his schooling in catholic and christian schooling "I can dig it." Also, I fucking love giant robots (two easy ways to get toku to watch/interested in an anime? Extreme violence and or giant robots and this stems from my early experience with anime as kid. Macross and Hokuto No Ken from my uncle when I was like 6)

Anyway anime is a lot like american television. Some of it's great, quite a bit of it's good and a large portion of it is inconsistent as fuck but at the end of the day what floats your boat floats your boat. s/o to all my stuck in the 90s ninjas.

No but seriously I had a brief anime phase on my younger twenties when an ex got me into it. Deathnote ended that. She and others hyped it to hell and it ended up being the stupidest fucking show I've ever had to endure.

Once in a while i'll see a battle that I find entertaining. But most of this pre written shit is just a bunch of dudes who have no actual musical talent whatsoever but are clever enough to write some funny lines. They always end up trying to make an actual song and shit the bed.
