I don't think Common/No I.D. combination is inherently bad, I tend to think of No I.D. as someone who can be versatile if he wants to be, but this might be a case of Common trying to bring back the good 'ol days of boom bap. I don't think working with other boom bap or sample heavy producers will change that much.

But on the flipside I couldn't even imagine what a modern Common album would sound like (didn't listen to UMC in it's entirety but even that was a while ago).

see i gotta know if that's a one-off or if this album is looking to be themed about chicago's current violence problems. i mean, i sympathize with the cause but im not checking for a whole album of tracks like that

See I would respect the effort behind something like that but common could do a mixtape and get other artist to support and not tarnish his discography if he really cares.

I got a old mixtape (compilation album) of artist in support of safe sex during the 90's. Its not a new idea to collabo on a mixtape to support a cause. Doing a whole album though isn't a new idea either but still I think a mix tape with other artist on it would get more traction.

true, don't want it messing up that flawless lineup of Electric Circus, UMC (for like 75% of ya'll anyway) and The Dreamer/Believer audio nyquil edition

Yeezy added 9 more dates to the Yeezus tour for February.

Two Canadian dates were added; Montreal, Bell Centre and Hamilton, Copps coliseum

@HollowDaDonLOM
Lux is now saying the battles going be on Youtube, yall can thank me now or later....I bet they hold it for 2 months b4 they drop it

We're eating, fam.

Also, just dropped today from the Born Legacy card in December:

Ahdi Boom vs. Steams.

Tay Roc vs. JC.

Watching now.

EDIT: Ahdi Boom vs. Steams is debatable as hell, but I'd edge all 3 rounds to Ahdi Boom, I like his style more, plus those wrestling schemes and that Sharkeisha line had me dying.

EDIT2: Tay Roc vs. JC is good. Those first two rounds, damn. I'd only give JC the first, rest of the battle is debatable.
I'll Jam Master JC, whew

JJ DOOM - "BOOKHEAD" (Official Video)

Look forward to that new Common that 1st release is what I have hope for, though I still want more because I am greedy.

I hope as singles its not all that, but as an album its great,

was good that nobody else had to make an appearance on that track even if it sounded like nas could have been great on it

Jonzun Crew - Space Cowboy
Jonzun Crew - Ground Control

I really like the latest Sage Francis also.

I like music that I know takes more than a couple of listens, I also like bublegum music though

Macklemore knows we don't want to see him win any grammys. But he's gonna win.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are up for Best Rap Album at January 26's Grammy Awards. In a new interview with The Source, Mack addresses what happens if he, you know, wins.

We’re up against Kendrick, who made a phenomenal album. If we win a Grammy for Best Rap Album, hip-hop is going to be heated. In terms of , I think it should go to Kendrick. He’s family. TDE is family, and I understand why hip-hop would feel like Kendrick got robbed .

He then insinuates that maybe the duo's breakthrough album The Heist should win Album of the Year: "I would love to win in a different category. We obviously had massive success on commercial radio, and I think that, in ways, The Heist was a bigger album, but Kendrick has a better rap album."

Macklemore is right that plenty of hip-hop fans would disagree with The Heist beating out good kid, m.A.A.d city, Yeezus, Nothing Was the Same, and Magna Carta Holy Grail. Kanye West, as interviewer Kim Osorio posits, would more than likely have something to say.

But for as vaunted as his outsider status is, plenty of hip-hop stars have embraced Macklemore as he's ascended to the top of pop music. That includes Kanye himself. Well, kinda.
