warm pasta, some mashed up avacado (1 usually will do it), throw in a diced tomato, hit it with some salt and pepper and serve. Shit is delicious with a thick cut of toasted bread on the side. Toss some crispy chopped bacon on the pasta for an extra kick of flavor.

Ketchup is wack, in most cases substituting tomatoes or tomato sauce without all of the high fructose corn syrup is much better.

Ha, I used to put ketchup on rice, still do if there is no butter or other sauce available. You just put a dab and mix it up so it's a slight pinkish color. Don't know why it works but it does. I hate ketchup on almost anything else but for some reason like it on rice.
I used to put mayo on pasta when I was young and broke and hungry. I love mayo and I love pasta but that combination got old quick.
Also seafood can fuck off unless it's shrimp or swordfish. Or deep fried clams with heavy breading. Nasty stank ass food. Used to eat lobster till I worked at a lobster hatchery and saw just how nasty those fuckers really are. Fucking trash animals, rats of the ocean.

All this food talk. I'm going shopping today after work to restock on veggies (mushrooms, corn, spinach, grape tomatoes). I'll get some pasta too. Any suggestions on other side dish stuff? No rice or potatoes, I'm burned out on that stuff.
that's the cheap way of doing mexican rice. if you've got a chopped onion and some peas to throw in as well. Lived off that for a solid year in college.
asparagus, carrots, a shallot (one will last at least two dishes), string beans, broccoli, kale and a couple bell peppers for color.
It's fall make some acorn squash and hit it with some butter and brown sugar.

Like I don't understand this all-or-nothing mentality. "It's wack." Really? In every single way ketchup is used, it's wack? Dipping your fries in ketchup is honest to god wack? Or putting some on your hot dog? I'm not saying put that shit on everything, but it definitely has its uses. It's the same with ranch, or any other commonly used condiment/dressing for that matter; on pizza? no go. On a salad? Fuck yes.
Ketchup ruins a good hot dog breh, I'm from pork city. Some aioli or a little malt vinegar will accent fries better than Ketchup.
You could sub couscous or quinoa for rice. As a brown man I find the mere suggestion that you can get burned out on it impossible (it's impossible) but hey.
As for veggies try things like yams, taro, Lotus root and squash to sub for potatoes. I'd also say some firm tofu fried up hard with some hoisin sauce peppers onion and garlic is dope too.

I usually dip my fries in mayo. I'll fuck around with ketchup from time to time, but mostly about that myo on my fries.
That McDonalds vanilla ice cream soft serve. Fucking delicious sweet and salty mix.
I'm picky with veggie but I recently found I love morning glory (water spinach) and okra. Okra lightly grilled so it's still crunchy with some butter and olive oil and pepper is delicious.
Oh fuck yes.
It's just a grain breh. I don't eat that often but occasionally when I need a fast meal I'll simmer it up in a pot with some sausage, vegetables in a bit of stock with herbs right quick.

Its really nutritious and healthy for you but its basically white people yuppie health food craze bullshit like kale and acai. Not that it isnt good for you, it is. But it's another one of these fads for regional foods that drives up prices in the places they are grown and forces local poor segments of populations to rely on shittier less nutritious foods because they can no longer afford it. Malnutrition in Peru and Bolivia among young poor populations has jumped up significantly since it became a fad in the US and drove prices up ten times higher. Cause I mean you gotta get your quinoa with your pumpkin spice latte on the way to spin class.

Avocado is one of those things I hate but feel like I am missing out by not liking it. I see my friends and family eat it and they look so damn happy. Same thing with tomatoes, I cant stand the texture or flavor of them but I feel bad that I don't like them, people seem to get such joy out of them.
