Shit is dope

Anyone else having trouble connecting to GAF on chrome with their laptops ?

Dope song, I never thought I would say this again but I might be hype for a new Fab album. Like since cuffin season got some shine he's been dope on everything I've heard him on.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but all 4 artist are signed to def jam right? because it feel's like such a random pairing or artist.

I'm not sure if Ma$e is signed to Def Jam but I know for sure the rest are on Def Jam.

Nope. I'm on Chrome and a laptop but there is no problem.
Outages right now from Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T. It's affecting certain websites as well try using Google to reach GAF and see if that works.

My phone is in shambles since I don't have 4G nearly everywhere now. It hurts.

Oh my gawd. ONP is probably my most favorite out of those. Might be my favorite electronic artist on the low.

Thanks so much for the heads up fam. See you there.

Yeah, I pray I don't work night next friday. Crazy lineup.

Brehs, this live theater integration description...

Boiler Room said:
In addition to the live music & DJ sets throughout the night, we’re working with Kubuki choreographer Kaz Matamura and a troop of theatrical performers to add a surreal performance angle to the show. Wearing specially commissioned costumes designed by Tirsh Hunter - expect to see masked mannequins stalking the stage and 10ft high monsters marauding through the crowd.
It’s going to be a lot

Can't believe that there was riots and martial law going on in my city just a couple miles from here. They zoned that bitch off.

I need to move.

Stay safe homie, it's pretty unfathomable what's going on in STL is a thing in 2014.

I was wondering how that was for you. Hope you and yours are alright man.
damn man, hope everything stays safe for you. Is there any thought that things will pop off where you are?
I was near North County today and that shit was cordoned off, no in or outs. What can you say. State of emergency. I have one friend up there and she's taking part in the protests.

Fucking cops man.

I'm fine though guys, I live a few miles away from all that shit and it's business as usual out in the county in general. Thanks for the concern though.

Even though business is pretty normal (most of my work involves me doing a lot of talking with people), social media is aflame in my circle since I have so many STL natives. On one hand you have people talking about the systemic racism in our city and just america in general, on the other hand you have people caping like crazy for the officers and police response. Lots of racial subliminals "thugs", "typical north county", "stay classy" etc. I've had to defriend/unfollow more people now than at any other time in my life actually. There's always been a lot of racial tension in the county and now it's all coming out.

I had to hop off social media yesterday for that reason. It really got to me.

What the fuck is this. You need to go reevaluate your entire life right now. Just go find a monastery somewhere, shave your bumpy ass head, get some robes, renounce all your shitty possessions, give up your dirty ass porn collection, and seek some balance in your life. Find your mothafuckin center.

This seems like an overreaction.

Man, shit like this is what makes me super apprehensive to even consider schools in the South to go to. I just don't feel comfortable even living close to where shit like this can happen.

a few months ago in south carolina, there was a confederate party at the state house and they laid down the confederate flag on the stairs

Apparently it's old. The KKK here is basically a bunch of bitchmade cornballs though. All they do is rally or rabblerouse on the highway sides or print out fliers about black people and distribute them on lamposts every couple of years. They aint shit really and they know it. Most of them are sore sorry losers from meth head south county and they don't have anything better to live for than blame black and mexican people for their troubles.

If you were in a small southern town, that's a different story though...

Never a good thing when tensions boil over like that. It's one of the big selling points of joint community planned events, but very few cities take them (or similar measures) seriously.

I don't have a lot of experience with STL, how fragmented are the communities out there? I'd heard there was racial tension, but is it pretty heavily segregated, too? How much interaction do they get between one another?

Depends. West county is all white, jewish, and asian. The center of the county area as you go closer to the city is pretty much a mix all around, racially and socioeconomically. South county is mostly white with a smattering of black people. North county is black with a smattering of white. The city proper I can't estimate, it's changed a lot over the past 6-8 years. East Saint Louis across the river is pretty much 100% black. As far as racial tension, honestly Saint Louisans generally get along pretty well. People are usually polite here in all respects tbh. There are a few exceptions (I seem to recall an interracial black man white woman cover picture in STL mag rustling some jimmies) but overall I'm not surprised that basically North County is ground zero and the rest of the tri county area is like whatever.

"Anticipation for the release of Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album is high. After his critically acclaimed debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city, hip-hop fans have been anxious to get any information on his next LP. XXL recently caught up with legendary producer Pete Rock, who said that he’s working with Kendrick for his next album. “Kendrick Lamar, I worked with him on his new album,” he said.

Soul Brother No. 1 states that he’s actually does the hook for one of K. Dot’s songs off the former XXL Freshman’s upcoming LP. It’s somewhat similar to what he did for Nas on “The World Is Yours” off of Illmatic. “I did some scratching and I’m on the hook on one of his songs on his album,” said the New York native. “I’m really excited about that. It’s just a regular hook. I can’t really sing it to you, you’re just going to have to hear it.”

How did Kendrick Lamar and Pete Rock even meet? The superproducer says it was through text messages. “I met Kendrick through texts actually,” he said. ”I got his number and [we] had conversations through texts. Me and Ab-Soul were working together. I was already working with [Kendrick's] people. I did a song with ScHooolboy Q and Mac Miller where they took a old jazz beat of mine that I was surprised they used. I’ve been slowly working with TDE.”

Details have been rare, however, just last week TDE’s co-president Punch gave XXL a brief update and said that it’s too early in the process for Kendrick’s as-of-yet untitled LP to have a particular sound, but there is a concept in place. Producer Cardo also recently shared news with XXL that he was working on Kendrick’s approaching album. Back in February, Top Dawg Entertainment‘s Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith hinted to Billboard that K. Dot’s LP will be released in September."—Emmanuel C.M.
