Genius talks to XXXTENTACION from jail about his music. Honestly, the flow stealing allegations people are throwing at Drake are BS. Such a generic ass flow that pretty much every artist has used on a trap beat at one time or another. Probably stolen from someone, but this dude specifically? FOH

Another More Life Snippet.

Drake in the studio with Thug.

Zaytoven Interview. On working with Jay Z:
I was in L.A. in a meeting with [veteran publishing executive] Big Jon and he was like, ‘Me and Jay was just talking about you.' So he text him and [Jay Z] said, ‘You have Zaytoven over there? Can he come to the house?' And I'm like, What? For real?

This is me having no idea that he even cared about my music. First thing [Jay Z] said [to Big Jon], ‘Tell him when he come over, make sure he bring them beats with them strings and pianos in it.' So that means he's paying attention to what I'm doing. I feel like I've been behind the scenes, making music all this time but I've been making it just to satisfy my demographic.

I didn't know how far it was reaching. So when Jay Z invited me to his house and told me what type of beats he wanted, it opened my mind up to be like, ‘My music is reaching everybody and touching people in a certain way.' There's a distinct something when they hear my music. I feel like [the collaboration] is gonna be for both of [our projects]. I know it's going to be a trophy for me.

Jeremih underrated af. His tapes been dope.

Drake stale af. Tired of his style of songs by now.
Yeah, even though I'm anticipating "More Life", it's more like I'm anticipating the one or two good songs amid the mediocrity. Drake doesn't do much for me, and his incessant adoption of styles is just annoying and blatant at this point. There's supposed to be a grime song on this tape, there's "Fake Love", there's going to be one or two ballads or "Marvin's Room" type songs, and him flowing over beats he doesn't really go well with.

It's so middle of the road that I'd prefer Drake pull something like "Yeezus" just to be interesting for once in his goddamn career.

For all my Francais fans, just discovered Jul's Tchikita... 125 million views damn:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmtWgkxMlRw

Them Mediterranean vibes. My friend was just in Algeria and morocco and has come back with a load of french tunes for me to dive into. Its crazy how many views some of the songs have, and we so oblivious to it here in the UK. I am loving this new global world though, starting to hear more foreign music on UK radio. Especially french, dutch and german rap. Someone recommended me that Bist Du Down German hip hop song the other day. Rinse FM (big UK station) has been playing it regularly!

Yeah, Bist Du Down went a bit viral over here. I posted it months ago in the last thread.

Been loving French Trap since I discovered Hamza through Moody and Nibel last year. Kekra is dope af, too.

But I don't like the Afro Trap sounds that's getting popular in France, right now:

Y'know, Culture is growing on me. Most of the songs on there are pretty strong and it has several standouts.
Yeah IMO it's a pretty solid project. Pretty much no "bad" or offensive songs + multiple really high notes/standouts/bangers (B&B/What The Price/Kelly Price), several non-bangers that are a change of pace and still good outright (T-Shirt/Deadz/Out Yo Way). Having that many songs that are listenable alone puts it into the top 50 percentile of albums IMO. I like the intro too.

Very little to complain about on a project like this, which is not what I expected, not being a previous fan of them and all. Pleasantly surprised.

This is dope.

Not French but I've had Sapés comme jamais stuck in my head for quite a while. Video is fire and decadent as fuck too.

Whaaat? Afro trap 5 is a staple with my friends! Its such a good tune... Ngatie Abedi Ngatie Abedi Ngatie Abedi !
Something about it sounds like some cheap-ass, plastic Ibiza club hits. Btw, the most successful German Rap album of last year, which did crazy numbers here, was heavily influenced by that sound and dancehall mixed with Trap (which is heavily influenced by French Trap in general):

Speaking of fresh shit from other countries: Funk ousadia/Funk ostentação. Heard it last year for the first time because someone here posted MC Bin Laden and I realized that I've heard his voice before sampled on another track in a First Ear Radio mix. It's such a strange sound. Young Favela kids that look like Disney Channel child stars rapping about drugs, fucking, guns, street shit, Pokémon etc. on minimalistic beats only made out of very sparse samples of strange sounds like motor bike ignitions, beating on the table, electric sparks, and short voice samples used like percussion. The strangest yet most fascinating new genre I discovered recently. Raw af.

Drake was all good prior to Views from the 6. that was boring shit, hoping his next album is more up tempo and high energy. or just goes all in on whatever he's influenced by right now. dancehall or grime or whatever.

Yeezus a top 3 ye album.

Lmao at travis scott falling in the hole. wish we heard his autotune yelp.

Welcome to the cult of Yeezus.

We meet Fridays in the abandoned factory.

But it's the rapping that I find hilarious as fuck and completely hilarious. I can't get enough, I listened to gleefully stupid lines like "What Would Jeromey Romey Rome Think" again and again.

The music is....holy crap as well. I'm In It is amazing from top to bottom and had me laughing unconditionally.

You know, a Dance hall Drake album in its entirety sounds like a great idea.

The fact that I'm loving a Kanye album instead of being ambivalent on it is a whole new experience for me. I need to go back and listen to MBDTF which I was eh on.

Oh don't get me wrong, Ye's got garbage bars on this, but oh my god the production is god-tier. I'm glad humanity was blessed with the glory that is "Blood on the Leaves."

Nah, I legit love his lines though despite how corny they would be from anyone else.

This is what people talk about when they say his ego and charisma allows for him to pull off the shit he does musically and lyrically.

I take Ye's bars as jokes, which I believe it's the purpose.

No one raps about having a go pro on his dick seriously, I believe

Also, IYRTITL is Drake's best project
