Throw me inWell, I am bored now, is it ok if I make an All-Vigilante game to practice a bit? It would be a pretty fast game too.
The objective is simple. You are alone, everyone else has to die. Shot Priorities are randomized and set from the beginning, so the "Mafia" part of the game is deduce how good or how bad is your priority compared to the others, and during the day convince the others to not vote you out, lying about your priority, the lowest players in the priority list also get a second ability to balance it out, but I won´t say what it is.
And by fast I mean 20 minutes night/30 minutes day interval, so whoever would want to play would have to say it now. Also considering 24 hours intervals since not everyone has a free afternoon, I guess.
The plan is to have sign-ups until say 5/6pm Pacific Time (That is 17 minutes for now) and start 10 minutes later, and the game should just take the afternoon, game can start from 5 players, the limit is 10, first come first serve.
Who is up for it?
It would be done in Quicktopic so you don´t get locked on gaf post System.
That's a good idea and I've thought about it before. It will play a lot like the board game Diplomacy.
If we count Meowfia, I'm 3-0 with:
1 Mafia win
1 Town win
1 Neutral win
But I see a Day 1 turbo in my near future:

I didn't necessarily mean something newbie only (could add 2 vets and I think it would still work well), just something that's a bit more standard, easier to jump in, and a bit less intimidating than the main games. If it's a fast one it also feels less punishing to die since it's over faster, and you can introduce some of the key roles. Just use a standard power deck (say 1 seer, 1 doctor) to get people acquainted with the more common roles and an idea how it works.
How about...Afro Samurai?

Yes
Fuck, another 2 I am not familiar with, same with Gantz and Hunger Games.
I could just combine them... Yes.
BETRAYALTON: Backstabber paradise
Every role is the biggest dick of a different series, work or history.
I can think of:
-Erik Cartman
-Judas
-Benedict Arnold.
-Sasuke Uchiha
-Light Yagami
Give me ideas people =P
I agree with throwing 1 to 2 vets in for a small newbie game. My first 'real' forum Mafia game was Dangan and it definitely took a while to get my footing and figure out what to do but watching other players play helped out a lot. It would also help those who are interested see how some roles work, get the general 'feel' of the games, see if their schedules worked with the games' pace, and it might help them decide if they want to stick around for full season games or not.
The idea of letting 'new' or 'soon-to-be' Mods work these games also sounds like a great idea. There might be some issues letting a new Mod host a game dedicate to new, maybe inexperienced players but considering the game will not be role heavy there shouldn't be too many problems.
Just my 2 cents though. :x
Yeah, I wouldn't see much of an issue with it (especially since I was thinking it could just use a standard deck from online, no crazy roles, not much creativity needed other than flavor text).
Aye Ayer CaptainThe yes meant I was in, so I'm above Hyper. Don't make a thing about it, just do it.

I want to be Light because he was right and not an asshole.
List of Possible roles (For Flavor purposes only):
-Erik Cartman
-Judas
-Benedict Arnold.
-Sasuke Uchiha
-Light Yagami (lol)
-Joffrey Baratheon
-Dolores Umbridge.
Don´t forget to propose a role! Hell, you can even choose who you want to be if I feel like it x), as long as:
1) He is a jerk or
2) He killed lots of people.

Quick game, everyone can kill at night and vote in the day, different priorities, special abilities for those who have the worst priority so they have a chance at winning.
Hitler?
Considering this. However I'm starting school part time and I work full time. So now I'm going to have very little free time. I won't be able to be TOP POSTER in games anymore.
Add me to the list, but make me very low priority.
Great choice.
Also my list lacks Videogame characters.
Manfred von Karma.
Don't forget DL-6
Brilliant.
Gary Oak could be a fun one too, but I could see Giovanni killing a guy with his bare hangs.
Gary was a bit of a dick, but never evil. And he became pretty decent.
edit: Dio Brando....
you cant not use him.
Debatable.
L should have won and you know it.
Sweet. Best example yet.
Sylar, in honor of Heroes coming back?
Sylar, in honor of Heroes coming back?
I watched Season 1, it was ok, Sylar was kind of a lame villain to me, his whole clock thing was really silly. His role stealing power was cool tho.
I watched the first episode of season 2, saw the girl crying black ink, laughed and forgot about the show.
I can join.
Just put nice players in, and keep the darryls, sorian, aand squidyjs FAAAR away
Nah, it's fine. It's true that I like to avoid the newbie if there's an equally good target, and I ESPECIALLY hate it when people use previous game to justify a player's behavior (UTTER BS)
If a player plays scummy and was town before, then plays scummy and gets lynched again as town, and again does the same and gets lynched, too bad.
There's been some discussion about lynching new players on D1 in the GAFia GAFia Game, and there's some arguments that people who get lynched on D1 won't play again if it's their first time. I know there's been some debate against having Newbies only games, but has there been a consideration to do some smaller practice games to combat this potential problem? Something like 8 players (2 mafia maybe?), along with some basic power roles should be fairly quick, and could give new players a better training ground/way to ease in without feeling bad if they died immediately in the season long games.
I think our trend towards having more mid-season games is good, but this might help the other way as well.
I'm not attached to Hitler; I may change mine.
We're all vigilantes. Multiple people can die each night.I honestly haven't even read the rules, but I saw we kill this ^ smug bastard first.

There's no reason to lynch / kill new players on day one unless there are an overwhelming number of new players in the game. If new players are scum, they'll still be scum after day one. Let them get their feet wet and focus on other targets. Common courtesy that helps our community grow.
I will play as myself.
In fairness to Star Wars, we had a newbie roleclaim Mafia on Day 1.There's no reason to lynch / kill new players on day one unless there are an overwhelming number of new players in the game.
