Uh, why don't you shut the f-ck up and stop complaining

PEACE

:(

I also wonder if these people do it in real life. Like "Did you see the game last night? Brian." I mean you might as well, makes as much sense.

People that post in boxing threads but have no interest in MMA.

It'd be like prefering teeball to baseball. Okay, maybe not, but I just wanted to get a shot in at boxing. Actually, I like boxing somewhat (it's certainly superior to team sports) but MMA and even kickboxing to a lesser degree is better in about every aspect.

Re: wrestling. I think I may have been too old for it when it hit big in the 80's.

Oh, Penny Arcade threads. Now that I know about the site (from GA) I see no reason to read the cartoons in a thread here, followed with 20 posts saying "it's not funny."

Except that I still look at the threads, and recently I said it wasn't funny either. I still don't get it, my own involvement included.

It's contagious. And with luck, no one will moan about you expressing your opinion.

The majority of the time I don't get demi.

But he's still funny regardless....I think.

Same here, and it applies to some other posters as well. Something their replies are simply incoherent and yet it seems to be funny...

Hardcore fanatics of a series who create threads spoiling every second of an upcoming movie in said series BEFORE THE MOVIE ACTUALLY COMES OUT, usually at least 6 months before. They discuss the script that they chose to read in its entirety, hunt and gobble down any scrap of new information they can find, including plot twists, and then pay money to watch a movie they spent months dissecting inside out.

Then, the same day, they come back and start discussing the sequel.

Box office numbers. Especially since the theatrical gross of a film has almost no direct correlation to how much money a film actually makes.

All the SAME fuckers who keep coming in to UMD sales threads saying "I don't understand."

WE FUCKIN GET IT ALREADY.
I don't understand.

Hell, you can spout off in here about wrestling all you like and get it out of your systems. Just don't come trolling the wrestling-specific threads and expect mercy. :)

All complaints about hypocrisy can be cheerfully addressed to that brick wall behind you.

Poor Stu.

I'm just saying, is all.

I don't really get the whole "my console is better than your console thing." It's a little creepy the way people identify with, and defend, a giant conglomerate that puts out a console.

And the threads that just scream "LOOK AT ME! I NEED ATTENTION RIGHT NOW!" I secretly wonder if it's so bad, the people in question can't get the attention they need from normal human interaction.

Here's my thing I despise about GAF...

People who bitch and moan and don't buy a game because of BOX ART! The game could be the game of the year, but GOD FORBID it has ugly box! HELLFIRE, BRIMSTONE!

Oh and people who hate wrestling and yet keep going into the threads and saying "It's fake!!! Why do you like it, it's got homoerblah, blah, blah"

If you don't like it... don't go into it.. it saves Bish the effort of banning you.

I understand this even less than the wrestilng threads themselves. As I said, if I realize something is a wrestling thread, I don't click. So much of GAF would be more civil if
a) I did this with everythign I was disinterested in or disliked
b) everybody else did, too.

Apples and oranges. One takes place standing up, one is a non issue altogether, the other is primarily on the ground and slower paced. They're completely different things. :/

I don't get any of these GAF cults of personality. Lohan, Tom Cruise, Britney, Vida, whomever. With all of the "ass" on the internet, there is no one ass worthy of that much talk.

the obsession with famous fuck-ups (Lohan, Cruise, Holmes, Alba)...

WHAT THE MOTHERFUCK.

I can see Cruise, Holmes, and Lohan, but Alba is not a fuck-up. Someone just about everyone WANTS to fuck, but no fuck-up.

true that. It makes me happy there isn't much talk of her around here. I have a chance damnit. I know it!

Here, here!
I think this would be a better place if the trollng stopped in all threads. Or, if the mods were more stringent on their trolling policies...

what really confuses me is that it often seems like it's alot of people's first day on the internet and they haven't learned not to feed trolls, it is amazingly easy to bait people here, phenomenon of stupid? does that count?

On the gaming side, I do not get the cult-like worship of Resident Evil 4. Sure, it's a great game. I loved it. One of the best this gen. But WTF is with all the hyperactive tards who insist no other game is even close to it? Even if it is your favorite game, to say nothing else is even close is stupendously near sighted. It's as ridiculous an opinion as any I've seen here.

Why is it so hard NOT to respond when someone rightfully mocks the DS?

cause the ds is a great system and anyone that repeatedly trolls it is just a blind idiot. Especially MAF.

I'll also echo the anime thing. I could never get into most of what I watched. Most of the cliches of anime (overly dramatic pauses, frenetic speech, goofy facial expressions, etc) kinda turn me off.

I don't get why there's like a 20 page post on the football draft. Sure football might be fun to watch but I don't get what's so interesting about keeping track of trades and new draft picks?

I also don't get the mainstream's obsession with poker. Sure it's fun to play every now and then with friends but people aren't shutting up about it! And watching the World Series of Poker???

I could get why wrestling and anime are popular, as these interests cross over a lot into games (wrestling or anime fans tend to also like games as far as I noticed) as I like them both but I don't really follow them nearly as much as I used to.

No disrespect or offense here, just an honest question here.

If you believe they are blind idiots, why do you care what they think and/or post on the forum? Seriously, I'm just curious so please don't take this as snarkiness or anything like that.

its that song that never ends It just goes on and on my friend, some people started singing it, not knowing what it was, then they kept on singing it just because.......

I fucking hate that song its annoying as shit.

-"late to the party" threads isn't that I hate those threads, is just the cliche of saying "late to the party"

-Old > New, aka: be nostalgic is cool

* Folks who assume that anyone who disagrees with them or fails to share in their beliefs is an idiot -- or an evil idiot, if the topic at hand is political.

* Wrestling. When did modern theatrical wrestling begin, anyway? Were there real wrestling matches in any sort of league capacity before the fake ones began? I mean, we've had collegiate wrestling for quite a bit...

* Box office numbers -- if only because cash intake means nothing. Gauging something by the amount of money it brings in is silly, because of inflation... the only real way to compare film is by individual tickets, and we don't record that information. Adjusting for inflation helps a bit, and shows us that most "box office records" are pointless -- few true record holders had good first weekends, including the #1 movie of all time ... Gone with the Wind.

Eh, they're somewhat related. Shit, boxing is a major part of MMA.

I guess I can understand why someone would prefer one over the other but it certainly isn't an apples to oranges comparison.

I've never followed wrestling. I've always thought it was incredibly stupid. I'm not sure what part of sweaty men performing fake moves set around soap opera storylines is supposed to be appealing.

So yes, the wrestling clique on GAF is something that I don't get.

That is beyond true. I mean I used to watch "wrestling" ... when I was 6 years old.

I mean at least olympic wrestling has that true athletic thing going on. What with it being REAL. That I can at least respect... even though I don't watch it. As supposed to the "sports entertainment" trash, souped up with trashy whores and assholes that seems to be popular today.

Yeah, originally, they were legitimate contests. Professional wrestling has its roots in carnivals with strongman contests and catch-as-catch-can wrestling. Around the late 1800's/early 1900's was when the matches started being worked. This was due mainly to the fact that the legit ones were exceedingly dull and went on for hours.

Dude, Siamese Dream.

And Drinky, mocking is fun. It's just that you can do it with more finesse than you have been recently. Actually, I think it'd be difficult to do it with less. But hey, that can be an artform too!
