Are you on 3.3v1 or 3.3v2 (pre-Oct 23/08 or post-Oct 23/08)? They both show up as the same firmware on your Wii system settings, so it is difficult to know which version of 3.3 you have. If you have 3.3v1 then it will be really easy to update. If you are on 3.3v2, then some extra steps will be necessary.
Anyway, get waninkoko's cIOS rev10 and try to install it. If it won't install, then you are on 3.3v2. If it does install properly, then you are on 3.3v1, and just follow these next few steps.
- Install 'cIOS rev10'
- Update your Wii to 4.0 using Nintendo's official updater from your system settings
- Run 'IOS Downgrader' (this will revert many IOS files back to earlier versions that still have the trucha bug - just make sure to run 'IOS Downgrader' and not 'cIOS Downgrader')
- you can now follow my earlier instructions for installing USB2.0 cIOS (beta3) and installing IOS202, and then running the pre-3.4 version of the DVDx installer and using the 'Advanced' option in order to set DVDx to run off of IOS202. That way it will work with MPlayer.
Okay I did the first two steps. Where do I get IOS Downgrader? And the USB2.0 cIOS and IOS202?
