GAFers with both the Xbox One and PS4...

Only Xbone and PS4?

Bro do you even lift? I have all three.

To answer your question, PS4 for most multiplats and games that will eventually go multiplat. Microsoft for their exclusives. Nintendo for their exclusives and if I ever have guests over.
Yeah I have a wii u too :jnc

It seems kind of odd that it's mostly junior members stating the "multi - Xbox, single - ps4" thing. Sure there are plenty of XBONEs out there but with the sizable lead the PS4 has the numbers don't seem to support XBONEs XBL being as far ahead of PS4's PSN as this thread would seem to indicate.

Friends sorta dictate what console I buy multiplats, but since I have have friends that own different systems I largely base it on performance and DLC type stuff. Honestly though, if it wasnt for indies both my consoles would be collecting dust right now. The WiiU, right now, is the only console I consistently go to, to play.

I agree Bgamer and you will see in my earlier post that I said first and foremost it makes the most sense to go where your friends are.

He's a little defensive, why I dont know, about the xbox. Clearly if you have friends that simplifies the choice for multiplayer, but I think that kinda goes without saying.

The better port.

Sadly, ends up being the PC.

Not for me. My gaming laptop can't hang. It's not so cut and dry. Then you have every Ubisoft game that runs like crap. I can't even play Far Cry 2 without seeing a 500ms input lag that makes it unplayable. Then I switch to another game and it's just fine buttery smooth 60fps with no input lag (borderlands 2). So I know it's not my hardware...

I see your part of the greatest master race of them all.

The "I can play anything I want without salivating" master race.

It really doesn't. Microsoft pays colleges students to talk about their product. Usually you get to meet your quota with Facebook and twitter, but places like neogaf count as more market penetration. I hated that job.

The fuck am I reading.

PS4, I like to have my games run as good as possible and right now my GPU in my PC is only a GTX670.

Though I prefer the X1 controller over the PS4's.

the whole xbl live vs psn argument is so last gen. And even last gen when xbox fans was shouting that they have dedicated servers allot of there main played multiplayer games utilized P2P so I never got that argument from them. They spoke of dedicated servers as if they was the only ones that had them and used it as a justification for paying for xbl at the time. I played Sony exclusives on dedicated servers, MAG, Socom, Gturismo to name a few.

Almost...I have a MacBook Air so I can play the latest Europa Universalis or Total War games :/

Now I need a low-mid range PC. Then my gaming ecosystem will be complete

What? I see three juniors saying this and it's hardly the majority.

Multi-plat + Exclusives = PS4

Kids Games + Exclusives = XB1

I generally game on the PS4 while the kids use the XB1 so it makes my choices easier and both get good use.

When my friends are excited for a game and it's multiplayer component, I usually go Xbox because that's what they have. They are long time Xbox fans. But when it comes to single player experiences or games they don't care about, PS4 all the way. Superior version wins out

Heh, it's more than likely people who live in America. Gap isn't as big as it is in other countries (and/or overall); There's a decent sized American userbase on both new consoles right now.

I love remote play. It's been an unexpected deal breaker for me.

Graphics between the two are not different enough for me to really care about that. There's not a single X1 game that I've played that didn't look great.

PS4 for multiplats

X1 for exclusives

friends and controller preference would rather have a lot of input in people's answers, don't you think?

What's odd is your inability to do basic math.

PS4 multiplats, X1 Exclusives. It was the other way around last gen. I just hope MS makes more unique experiences like PS3 offered in its lifetime of exclusives.

PC/PS4- multi
Xbone- exclusives

I'll always go for better performance and graphics, I love both controllers so that's not an issue for me. My Xbone won't get burn until halo and sunset overdrive

PS4 for all titles except for Xbone exclusives. Pretty much the exact reverse of last gen. I love Sony exclusives, but they've got nothing on Halo and Forza, not for me, not yet anyway.

Xbox could still turn some of the tide by pushing dedicated servers, but so far that seems to be limited to their few exclusives. So PS4 has it, because of the stronger hardware and that stronger push out of the gate.

My latest purchases (wolfenstein, watch_dogs) have been on the ps4 while I bought ghosts and NBA2k on the X1 along with FIFA at launch. Lately I've bought games on the PS4 like trials, MGS:GZ and The X1 is where Ive been playing online but the destiny alpha and battlefield hardline beta has meant I've been playing a lot of online on PS4. I generally stick with PS4 for multiplats because of generally better versions however if it's something my friends get on X1 like COD then I'll grab it there. Playing with friends is better than strangers.

I go mickey mouse built a house, how many bricks did he use? dot dot dot dot dot dot dot. Seriously it varies. get what i play on the most, X1 my PS4 barely comes out of the box. Gonna change that in October.

Microsoft exclusives on Xbox

Everything else on PS4

If theres a multiplat on Xbox that performs the same as on PS4, I might get it on Xbox just so the system can get some use (its what I did with wolfenstein)

I buy most of the multi-platform on the PS4, except some multi-player games that my friends buy on Xbox One. I use them both quite often, and I like both consoles quite a bit.

Xbox One for exclusives, and PS4 for everything else.

I can't think of a single reason I would buy a multiplat game on XB1 unless it turns out to be better somehow (unlikely). I have more friends on PS4, most multiplats will look/perform better, I like the controller and the OS better, etc.

I have a question, though: why does everybody's friends here play Xbox? lol

I base it off 3-4 things

Friends, price, and then a battle between controller preference and graphics .

Usually in that order. If a game has a significant multiplayer component I go Xbox.

My friends and family have continued to migrate to Xbox. I'm literally the only one out of about 8 to also own a PS4 (WiiU too).

Do you suggest I ignore all of them and go PS4 for online focused games because I'd have more strangers to play with?

I'm in Australia mind you where both consoles have done very well. They might even be neck a neck.

How do you decide which console to buy games on? I feel bad if I leave one console sitting there without touching it for months on end...

I'll be buying the lion's share of my multi platform titles on PS4.
Microsoft seems bigger on competitive multiplayer games though, so I'm considering buying CoD (and any other titles with a focus on competitive multiplayer) for X1 from now on, and possibly dropping PS+.

For now it's solely based on exclusivity since i have a pc for most multiplatform titles. Destiny is the first game that i'm having to actually think about.

I use Xbox for everything except exclusives. My Xbox is always on when I'm watching TV, so naturally it's easier to have the majority of my games on there. Everything is just a voice command away. With Ps4, I have to switch inputs on my receiver and fiddle with the TV settings when I want to play a game. I also don't want to pay for PS+ when I'm already paying for Xbox live. The PS4, just like the PS3, is the perfect single-player exclusive gaming console. The Xbox is the best "everything" console for me.
