1. Zelda WiiU - This was really the largest hype train coming out of the conferences. Nintendo finally announcing an 'Open-world' Zelda game. We have yet to see full-on gameplay footage, but the trailer was all in-engine. The game looks beautiful and I cannot wait for the potential of this game to be seen in 2015.
2. Smash Bros. - Whether it was the adorable way they introduced the Mii/Amiibos, the press conference with Sakurai and The Pac, or the hype as hell Smash Invitational, Nintendo somehow satisfied the unrealistically high expectations that I set for Smash this e3.
3. No Mans Sky - This was one of my favorite reveals from e3 2013, it was the thing from that conference that stuck with me ever since. Watching that ship take off and fly straight into space seamlessly with a beautiful artstyle to boot was fantastic. And this year they built on that with everything in that game looking solid. It still seems so ambitious, but I'm so glad the project is coming along, and I cannot wait to play this game.
4. Codename S.T.E.A.M. - When we heard a new 3DS title was being announced in a closed door meeting, no one expected this. A Third-Person Strategy RPG, in the spirit of Valkyria Chronicles. I honestly loved Valkyria Chronicles and wished more games took a page out of its book for gameplay. It looks like a fantastic game from one of my favorite developers of all time. I'm a little wary on the smoothness of the artstyle, but I think Intelligent Systems can pull it off.
5. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - The more and more that I see of this game, the steadier and steadier I'm getting excited for it. The game looks huge in every way possible. Story, options, map, experience. The Phantom Pain will have it all.
6. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - The big shocker coming out of Ubisoft's conference. It looked pretty exciting from watching it the first time through with a lot of cool concepts implemented, but after seeing some of the off-screen footage that has been shown around, I could not be more excited for this game. It's looking like the tactical shooter I've been waiting years for.
7. Kirby & The Rainbow Curse - Canvas Curse was an amazing departure from the normal Kirby games we were use to up to that point. Getting a 'sequel' to that with a Clay artstyle is just icing on the cake.
8. Splatoon - Talk about a surprise. No one really knew what we were going into when this game was on the Treehouse list, but seeing it during the Nintendo Event, it looked actually pretty cool. It's quite a different kind of third person shooter/splatter that I could see being really fun. The game has a lot of color and heart for sure, and I'm excited to see how this game turns out and how the community reacts to it.
9. Halo: Master Chief Collection - You could almost just take the Halo 2 remastering from the collection to put this at this spot. Halo 2 is my favorite Halo game by far, and one of the first games to get me into the concept of online multiplayer. The whole package is really great too, and I can't wait to finally go back and play classic Halo.
10. Yoshi's Woolly World - Boy do I love me some Yoshi's Island. While the newest one wasn't the greatest, this game's artstyle and gameplay are definitely showing me that this game is the real deal. Very interested to see more from Woolly World. Also that name. So perfect.
Honorable Mentions: The Witcher 3, The Division, Batman Arkham Knight, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Scalebound, Bloodborne, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
All of the honorable mentions could have made it somewhere on this list, they were all fantastic games and announcements, but cuts had to be made. This year's e3 was a lot better than I was expecting it to be, and the fact I had to actually think and make cuts to a top 10 list makes me really happy that more e3's will hopefully move in the right direction.
