Gallup: RNC convention resulted in loss of support instead of gain. First time ever.

What do you expect when you put out Scott Baio on Monday night instead of Thursday night?

Chaichi's star power was wasted, wasted I tells ya!

Weld's less goofy. But that'd make him a worse Samantha Bee guest probably.

It really is unbelievable how dumb Wolf is.

Well to be fair, Johnson's competition for the Libertarian candidacy included a guy named Vermin Supreme, and a guy wanted for questioning in several South American murders.

Stop spreading this liberal bullshit. They were CENTRAL American murders.

No, the statist scumbag is for that stuff. That's why he got booed at multiple debates and the convention.

He's for some of it and against other. It's pretty funny to see people's own candidate get booed for saying he would have supported the Civil Rights Act and that people should require a license to drive.

Anti-PC people lining up with an anti-PC candidate? Who knew?

That much is obvious. It's the cherry picking of polls, any they disagree with are dismissed as "biased"*, that really shows the same mindset.

*"Unbiased" polls can become "biased" the moment they disagree too.

Good, hopefully the results of this election will completely invalidate platforms based on demagoguery.

Well considering how much support Trump has even after being completely loony tunes, it kinda paves the way for with similar views but a bit more positive opinions like not insulting the family of a veteran or threats of nuclear warfare.

I generally vote Republican (I'm a libertarian) but this year I'm going third party. Besides, Hillary will win by a landslide in MN.

I can't remember when Trump lost me (it was early) but I watched the RNC to see if he could win me back. Just moved me further away.

Due to my profession, I can't overlook Hillary's email shenanigans.

You forgot the fat guy who stripped down to his underwear on stage.

That's what I thought. We had polls and threads saying Trump and Hillary were neck and neck after the RNC. Was that wrong?

Trump had already been gaining points on Hillary leadiing into the RNC and that momentum continued through it. That made it difficult to discern between what was actually a convention bounce and what were the general gains he had already been making.

This Gallup poll is basically asking for an assessment of the convention in retrospect.

He was running for chairman of The Party, not Presidential nominee.

He's also running for Livingston County Sheriff: http://www.weeksforsheriff.com/

He's less enchanted with party presidential nominee Gary Johnson and vice presidential nominee William Weld.

"I don't know what two former Republican governors have in common with the Libertarian message," Weeks said.

Not this shittu again!!!!

What's interesting were the the amount of "celebrities" they had. Like why? Surely you they could have either gotten more relevant people or at least good speakers like the DNC did.

The far right had always had a chip on its shoulder about "left Hollywood", and it being the culture center of the west.

So much so celebrities on the left, after years of being apolitical, have said fuck it. You saw it in the endorsements and production values of the DNC. Meanwhile the RNC looks third rate, as they try to fill that gap and feeling of betrayal from Hollywood.

Hell, there's a whole group of directors that really are only a thing because they play up their conservative in Hollywood bonifides.

The fact that this racist, intellectually bereft business failure and Carney barker had you in the first place, says a lot more about you than your email principles.

Legit question. How do you feels about prior SOS utilizing private email servers, and/or attacks on diplomats under other presidents.

I honestly don't really get how/what Clinton did was much different than BAU to prior administrations, besides the focus on it. Not that it wasn't wrong or that things should be changed.

If this is implying you're in IT consutling/ITSec, then as someone in the same field, you should know how clueless 30-something exectives are... what would you expect from a grandmother?

Not to mention it would be on her IT team, not her. I've had to explain to CFOs that they shouldn't send unsecured e-mails from gmail with credit card/checking account #'s in them.

RNC was basicaly: fire & brimstone, end of days, hell on earth, everything sucks, we don't win anymore, pessimism

DNC was basically: we are good and we can be better, optimism.

optimism wins

This gives me hope that while america is a racist shitpot. It's not as racist of a shitpot It seemed to be earlier on.

Lol @ gop. Your party is broken.

This gives me hope that while america is a racist shitpot. It's not as racist of a shitpot It seemed to be earlier on.

There's a solid 40% of Americans (white) who are straight up racist, admittedly or not. Then there's about a 5-12% percentage that are just straight up dumb.

A lot of people are not okay with extreme overt racism.

It's when you start talking about subconscious bias does it begin to make people uncomfortable.

Some (probably not most) of the people who don't care for black lives matter literally don't understand it. They see it as a movement for black people to purposely divide rather than unite. Some people who pretend to be colorblind often do so with good intentions.

I'm glad that Trump is losing the educated white vote. People who are a bit more educated tend to understand that his antics are not okay for presidential standards.

All he's got left in his corner is less than educated white voters.

Yes, my "seemed" is about -10/15%. I don't think it's night and day. But nice to see sense prevailing a tad. The morons are no good for our nation and I hope they go back into hiding.

What is your profession?

What I get from this is GOP is still effective as ever of smearing opponents, but got themselves in a pickle with a candidate they can't effectively sell.

As a fellow Minnesotan, I can't help but find it a little gross that the RNC was the tipping point, that you actively wanted to see a Trump presidency for any period of time. Trump at his worst well predates the RNC.

He said Trump lost him well before the RNC. He watched it to see if he could be won back.

He might have supported him a little at that point when all the other candidates were pure shit and Trump was at least new and surely he can't screw up worse than this can he?

I know some Hillary voters who were initially in that stage until late Fall 2015. (One also liked Carson. No, it wasn't HUELEN10.)
