but a Controller 2 version of the Famicom Micro?!

It is great for RPGs like the final fantasy series, but for stuff like Mario it feels too cramped for me. Seeing this thread makes me want to dig mine back out and play some FFVI again though with my Famicom micro.wondermega said:it's nice to come and cruise in this thread once in awhile and look at the pics, and revel in the love for the micro. Like many folks, when it was announced (years ago) and shown in pics I was unimpressed and didn't care. Then I saw my buddy playing one and thought I MUST HAVE THAT. And never looked back..
Now some years later I still have a lot of love for the little guy. Nearly all my portable gaming had been on micro (never got a DS, PSP - for shame, I know!) and until iPhone it's been that way. Still, "for portable gaming with actual buttons," it's number one for me..

I vastly prefer the plain colors. I don't really need random splashes of color or graphics bordering the tiny screen.
I recently got 100% on Super Mario World (Mario Advance 2), and I noticed that I died. A lot. I don't remember dying this much on the SNES. There were many times that it was clear I died because I couldn't see how close I was to an enemy, or some other aspect related to the super small screen or controls. I feel like I perform a lot worse on this than I did when playing on the DS.

Well that's the thing. At least according to the eBay listings, the faceplate was a Club Nintendo bonus or gift of some sort so they all sell them separate from the system for maximum money-making.Gameboy415 said:I saw a few of these at a used game store in Osaka a few months back.
I wanted to buy one, but they were over $70!
....for JUST the faceplate!
Turnstyle said:- Can I use my existing SP or DS charger to charge the Micro?
- Does the faceplate also cover the screen? In other words, if I buy a unit with a scratched screen, can I simply buy a new faceplate?
- What sort of battery life does the Micro give?
- no...Turnstyle said:Even though I have an SP and a DS, I'm looking to get involved in this 'scene'. I love the idea of a truly portable system that I can play at any time and any place. I'm playing through a lot of GBA games at the moment (and GB/GBC too, but I know the system can't play those), so a Micro would be ideal (plus, they look awesome).
So, I have a few questions:
Here in the UK it seems that the Micro is pretty expensive, even second hand with no box etc. Given this:
- Can I use my existing SP or DS charger to charge the Micro?
- Does the faceplate also cover the screen? In other words, if I buy a unit with a scratched screen, can I simply buy a new faceplate?
- What sort of battery life does the Micro give?
Thanks in (Gameboy) advance!
Shin_Kojima said:-No, it has its own unique port (sadly).
-Yes, a new faceplate would fix a scratched screen (unless some idiot scratched the screen under the faceplate screen)
-Very good, takes a long time between charges. I suck at estimating stuff like this though.
Don't know if the brick is the same but the connector is definitely different.Zing said:The micro uses the same power adapter as the DS Lite. You can use either.
No you can't. The micro's plug is slightly bigger and the two won't fit in each other's sockets.Zing said:The micro uses the same power adapter as the DS Lite. You can use either.

Try and get a hold of Rhythm Tengoku if you can.Turnstyle said:So then, can anyone tell me a good game for 5 minute blasts at work? I've got quite a few Advance games already (for use on DS/GBA SP), but I feel I should buy something new for the latest addition. I'd like a game I can turn on, play for a few minutes, then save. Something where I can progress a little bit each time.

Goddamn, dude, you didn't learn from last time to double-check before posting incorrect bullshit as fact in here?Zing said:The micro uses the same power adapter as the DS Lite. You can use either.

Bumping this thread because I want to get one of these babies for my Micro, but this concerns me. It's hard for me to find a Mini SD card at a good price, all I can find are microSD cards with Mini adapters.oracrest said:I recently went through the process of buying an EZ Flash IV cartridge to play Another World on, and that seems to be working well enough. Make sure that you buy a mini SD card, and not a microSD convertor into mini. I had issues trying to do that, but the mini (which you can get through amazon, but I don't know if stores carry them, Fry's didn't) worked fine.
I got mine from this place, and it arrived fine. (I live in the US)

I had a lot of difficulty finding a mini SD card. At first, I tried using a microSD card in a mini SD adapter, which was the only thing I could find at a store. It didn't work, so I ended up ordering a mini SD card online, which I have to put into a regular SD card adapter in order to use it on my computer. The mini SD card works, though. The flash cart is a little glitchy, but I assume it's just the product itself.Fantastical said:Bumping this thread because I want to get one of these babies for my Micro, but this concerns me. Has anyone else had experience with this? Do they really not work?
Grr... I don't like the sound of that. I had one for my DS Lite and it crapped out on me. But glitchy do you mean it would restart itself and stuff?Dragmire said:I had a lot of difficulty finding a mini SD card. I found one, thanks!B.K. said:I don't think they even make Mini SD cards anymore. I bought a used one from Etech on Amazon when I bought one of those flashcarts. I haven't had any trouble with it.

Same, except I want the Famicon version. Only problem is I don't think I could justify the cost, mainly because I already own a DS and a PSP. It's just such a great device =[ Wish I never sold mine.Yes Boss! said:I kinda want to get another micro. Like the Pink one. This system keeps drawing me back...never was a GBA superfan.
