Be extremely careful about buying this game online. There are a billion bootlegs out there. Anytime you see "game only", just assume it is bootleg. If you still insist on buying it cart only, buy it using a method that would allow you to get a refund if it is bootleg.

I'd recommend not buying from any source that doesn't have a photo of the actual item. I'd also only buy it if it came with complete with the box. Bootlegs almost never have the box. At the very least, ask the seller to confirm that the PCB on the inside of the cart slot has the Nintendo logo and copyright.

Man, I've always wanted one so I can slip it easily in my pocket and play Zelda and Mega Man Zero in Spanish class. It's so sexy too....

Are we allowed to talk about which flash cart is best to get?

And where the best place to get one would be?

I ordered a ton of extra faceplates about five years ago and I think they got lost in a move. I am very upset by this, thus my Black/Black Micro sits in a drawer un-played with as I fear damaging it. I should get a beater for daily play.

Does anybody know where I can grab a mint condition/new one cheap in Toronto or a place that ships to Toronto for a relatively cheap price? I want one so badly!

EZFlash IV works well too. I got mine at RealHotStuff a while back.

The screen is about as wide as the Lite's screen is tall.

I swore I sold all my GBA stuff, but I found Super Mario World and Final Fantasy VI at the bottom of a box today.

Now I want a Micro badly.

While I love the shit out of my famicom GBM I want to get a black one to use while out and about since the famicom one is quite glossy/reflective and I can't stand getting fingerprints/grime all over it.

Plus a black on black micro is pretty sexy.

All of them are glossy. I would assume that the black one attract fingerprints worse than any of the others.

This thread reminds me to finally finish my mother3 playthrough on the gba micro. Love that console!

If anyone has a original black faceplate (or total black gbm for that matter) they dont use and want to sell, im in the market for one. Please PM me if you do. I believe I got some third party faceplates somewhere, but the quality is not as nice.

Also got the famicom version, but cant bring myself to play on that one. Want to keep it mint. I even considered buying one still in the box, that would make it my third one. While i'll sell off all my old consoles, these are for keeps.

Micro screen is ~5cm, the DS Lite is ~8cm (diagonal, of course).

PS: Still selling my virtually new-in-box Micros with an extra official faceplate for $75. There seem to be a lot of people wanting them, but no one is willing to pay the going rate for a new one. Most people seem to just one a loose one that is in mint condition.

I love the micro but after all the posts saying how pretty it was I thought I'd be different and post pictures of it with an ugly e-reader growing out of it.

My point was more about the famicom one being glossy and metallic, makes that shit stand out really well. Also while I don't have any of the other ones all the pictures I have seen of them make them appear to not be glossy compared to the famicom one.

Lesser of 2 evils kinda thing.

Drill Dozer was $2 when I bought it from Amazon.

My battery is dying on my Micro; anyone know where to get a replacement battery? The Nintendo site doesn't have it listed on their Online Store.

Drill Dozer is an exception. There must have been a billion copies of this dumped on the market. My local Future Shop still had copies in the bargain bin just a couple years ago.

Well, it's a cheap awesome game that everyone should own. Just putting it out there.

The black one is just as bad if not worse because it's black. If you've ever seen how a black PSP attracts fingerprints, it's about the same.

You might consider calling customer support? They might be able to get you a new one as a repair, but I'm not sure really.

I wonder if just because Game Freak made it, the publisher assumed it would be the next Pokemon.

I just bought a Japanese Mario 20th Anniversary GBA Micro from eBay is it safe to just charge it through USB on my laptop or do I need a step down converter?

If I do need a step down converter where do I start? I'm from the UK if that helps.

if you have a USB charger, that's fine. your laptop power adapter will be doing the conversion before any power gets to the micro.

speaking of game boy micro power adapters, i finally found mine today! gonna start playing mother 3 on the train.

Two questions:

1) Do you know where I can find a RED Gameboy Micro? I mean what are the countries that received this version (not limited).

2) Could you suggest me a good (and good looking) strategy game for GB Micro? I'd like to get something like Jeanne D'Arc that I played and loved on PSP, or like Vagrant Story (PSX) that is an action RPG. Don't name me Advance Wars that I played and enjoyed.

Thanks!

There's always Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Tactics Ogre for strat RPGs. I'm not sure I can think of anything that compares well to Vagrant Story though. Maybe the Baulders Gate game?

1) Australia received a red GBm model. I have one, got it on clearance for $50. (Not for sale obviously, but there may be cheap ones in Aus for you to hunt down)

2) Fire Emblem? Tactics Ogre is meant to be damn hard to find.

Thank you guys.

So, following your suggestion, the choice is between:

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis

What is the best one considering graphics?

I'd like throw throw in Yggdra Union.

It has ridiculous production for a GBA game, it's also a good strategy game, if not a little nutty, Sting style.

Grahpcis are not why I'd recomend an SRPG as gameplay can be such a big variance (personally, I find Fire Emblem is the best gameplay though is usually a step behind on graphics).

Personally out of the selection given I'd say:
FE:SS>TO=FFTTA

The classes made for FE:SS in particular are a bit better while not feeling out of place with the recyled graphics. Graphically they have some character too.

The latter 2 I've not seen for long but are kind of the same isometric look. They work but they just come off unremarkable.

As for the "but other SRPG has better graphics". Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 2. On map is bland and simple like always, but in-battle graphics are good. I think they flash the screen to get round some VRAM problems but as a result have a lot more frames of animation.
Shame you should probably play the prequel to get the most out of it (SRT OG2 difficulty is a bit higher) which being 3 or 4 years older looks worse.

Really? I recall seeing some not too pricey from 3rd party sellers on Amazon. Bootlegs?
For GBA or DS games its fairly likely. Also its fairly easy to get a refund but its annoying having to go through the hassle.

The most depressing thing about the Game Boy Micro is that once all the screen covers you own are scratched, you won't be able to replace them anymore.

This is why I have one particular faceplate that I always used when carrying my GBm with me, and I basically leave it on there all the time.

The drawback is that one is so scuffed that I'm probably losing some picture clarity at this point. I have a bunch of extras but I can't bring myself to use the official ones and scratch them up, and a lot of the third party ones just don't look that great.

Proudly debt free. If you need a couple bucks, just ask.

I've been using the silver one since the day I got it and I only have a few scratches on it. I keep it in a glasses case when carrying it around. My flame and camo ones have never been used.

Just bought a hot pink Micro from PAL Land. Woo hoo! I've been meaning to bite the bullet for a long time, but didn't do so until I saw this one. Can't wait to give it a go with Rhythm Tengoku :)
