sn1pes said:Be diligent and keep checking eBay. Eventually someone will be selling one for 30-40 or a nice complete one for 60-70. I got an all black Japanese model, mint condition, all packaging, an EFA flash cart plus a leather pouch for $65 a few weeks ago.
Just keep on the lookout. Look especially at the 'recently listed' buy it now's.
I physically measured the difference in viewable area using a Micro and a DS (which has the exact same size and dot pitch of the DS Lite).faceless007 said:Question: What's the size of the Micro screen relative to playing GBA games on a DS Lite? GBA games only take a part of the DS screen so a direct comparison of the dimensions won't work. Is it bigger or smaller than on the DS Lite?
I know what you mean. I have a problem with hitting the volume control while pressing the right shoulder button, usually when playing Street Fighter or KoF.Danielsan said:It's a sexy looking machine.
I understand why you'd enjoy looking at it more than playing it because I do have some issues with it:
The screen is really small.
The shoulder buttons require you to hit them on the inside.
Hitting the b button like I normally would on a handheld/controller blocks the speakers.
The select and start button are awkwardly placed.
Seconded.Mr. Spinnington said:anyone have any extra faceplates?
i'm looking for solid color or a nice-looking design, none of that stupid spin art stuff ;p
Zing said:I physically measured the difference in viewable area using a Micro and a DS (which has the exact same size and dot pitch of the DS Lite).
The micro viewable area is 50mm.
The DS viewable area with a GBA game is 79mm.
So, just from diagonal measurement alone, a GBA game on the DS is 64% larger. Do what you will with this information.

I don't know if you have an account at racketboy.com, but I got a PM from a guy who's trying to sell a micro which needs a little fixing up for $20. If you want more info on it, send me a PM.vgamer1 said:I am also looking for a micro. Please help!

And Another World looks and plays great on the micro if you have the $$ and patience to set it up and order everything you need to get it running.

Worth waiting for the Pandora or does it do the job well like a Micro on steroids?

minor effort said:It's the Dingoo A320, and it's a pretty capable system for emulation. I have many of my GBA games on there, although I don't find the GBA emulator to be 100% perfect (some framerate and sound stutters, enough to kill Rhythm Tengoku). The Linux-based Dingux firmware has plenty more options too, like a better Genesis emulator, PC Engine, MAME, etc.
The build quality is actually surprisingly good. The dpad and buttons all feel very solid, even the shoulder buttons. It doesn't feel cheap or shoddy. And the screen is pretty bright and sharp, no complaints there.
They go for around $70-80, so they're a pretty good bargain.

I've been thinking about getting it for some time and from your impressions on the one you have it sounds solid.
:lol Yeah, it's the same thing. That's the other annoying thing about the system.Think Geek said:Important Note for Mac Users
When connecting the Pocket Retro Game Emulator to your Mac computer using USB, you will see it appear as any USB mass storage device with about 4GB available. However after copying over your desired files and ejecting the device, you may find the system needs to be reset (look on the left side of the system for the reset button). This doesn't occur on computers running Windows.
