A prompt action and response, making it clear where they stand.
Sucker Punch, take notes.
I realized they can't do it because most of the studio would probably walk out in protest. They're fucked either way.

^^ This.Wishful thinking.
A sign that you are not thinking critically. You've got it out for "these people". Just few months back, we had two D-politicians murdered in their own home along with their spouses in an act of political violence. While some surely were, you don't have to celebrate their deaths to show clouded judgement. Selective indifference is enough.
My dad went down the youtube rabbit hole with crypto-currency as a gateway. When someone broke into nancy pellosi's home with the apparent intention of killing her with a hammer, I asked him if they should have done that and he said "maybe they should have". The violence may be ideologically driven but it's not as cleanly down political lines as you seem to think.
Right now, many liberals and not just the far left are crossing their fingers for trump to croak of natural causes. Not exactly the most noble wish. But if you remember the celebration of hillary clinton possibly having some rapidly terminal disease, you may see that wishing death on people you hate is universally a base and ugly side of human nature.
Void Interactive fired the CM for saying "nothing of value was lost" after the assassination. Good for them, honestly.
Moving forward, please keep this thread on topic as it relates to reactions to Charlie Kirk's death in the gaming community. There is a broader discussion in the Off Topic forum. And please, be civil.
Haha just seen the posts of trump saying Antifa counted as a terrorist organisation and he will come down on any company contributing etc to this organisation, and lead actress from ghosts saying "I'm antifa , so is my wife" sucker punch and Sony gonna regret putting activists etc into roles in there company
I liked Zero Down ... Forbidden West though... sheeeshhow innocent I was.... playing Zero Dawn.... then a someone casually said something like:
" have you noticed that every man in horizon is a pathetic, incompetent and whiny"

The fact that saying "we do not condone the celebration of political assassinations" is controversial to Sucker Punch says a lot about them as a company. And about SIE as the owner. If Sucker Punch and Sony would've done this a few ways ago I would be supporting Ghost of Yotei
Shame
According to Jimmy Kimmel Sony is MAGA Republican.I think it's time Sony was designated a terrorist organization
I'm Pony. So's my wife!I think it's time Sony was designated a terrorist organization
They are only saying this because of the backlast. They are not saying it because they are really sorry. Do not be fooled! If Sucker Punch and Sony would've done this a few ways ago I would be supporting Ghost of Yotei

for the AAA studios i'd agree but Void Interactive the OG team originally were pushing boundaries with portraying things like a college shooting and human trafficking, they didn't seem very woke. They are only saying this because of the backlast. They are not saying it because they are really sorry. Do not be fooled!
I just play Japanese games these days, especially Nintendo games. There's thousands of those I could go through instead of wasting time on the latest Western AAAA woke generic open world "masterpiece"As a gaming community, we really need to boycott these developers. They need to see some Concord numbers for these games. They will never learn otherwise. Just say NO. You have plenty of other games to play. You really do. Trust me.
I think this is the news that would sadden more people than the GoY.
That would be an overreach and a literal violation of free speech. Corporations have the right to hire anyone that says anything under the protection of free speech and those same corporations have the right to ban any type of public facing controversial speech; however, the government doesn't have the right to dictate what their speech related policies are.The heads of these major gaming publishers should be dragged before Congress or the House Oversight Committee and forced to explain why their staff behave like such consistently malignant cunts.

What the government could do is establish government regulation over the industry like they have with tv and radio and be more hands on, but that'd also not really be a good thing.
S Scrawnton I agree and to clarify:
This isn't about jailing anyone - it's about making clear that free speech comes with accountability. And when the western gaming industry openly nurtures Far Left activists, it's only right that authorities pay closer attention, given the shooter's history and the industry's impact on the young.
Lmfao why Kotaku
as i have said several times. this is not an issue of free speech but a case of extremist ideology infecting institutions and corporations. The receipts should be very easy to obtain. Too bad the people on position of power (Trump and the rest of the circus) they don't come across as very capable or/and assertiveS Scrawnton I agree and to clarify:

It wasn't Kotaku. Game File
I figured Fleming wouldn't talk about the firing, that I'd get a no comment. But on September 12, the political and corporate reaction to people's reactions to Kirk's killing was becoming a major story—even more the case this week, as it'd turn out. I couldn't not ask about it.
"The facts are accurate," Fleming told me.
"Drew's no longer an employee here. I think we're aligned as a studio that celebrating or making light of someone's murder is a deal-breaker for us, and we condemn that, kind of in no uncertain terms. That's sort of our studio, and that's kind of where we are."
I said I was curious how you weigh a person's 10-year run at a studio against a social media post, but a rep for Sony who was present for the interview (that's normal) said they wouldn't be commenting further.
We moved on.

The Sucker Punch interview
Ahead of PlayStation’s biggest release of 2025, Ghost of Yotei, I chatted with Sucker Punch studio co-founder Brian Fleming: talking Ghost, Sony deals, sequel-making and the elephants in the roomwww.gamefile.news
Too little too late
yep, the damage is already done. And the crazy ones on Purple World are not going to be happy either, alongside Sony supporting terrorists.. yikes. a complete and deserved shitshow of a release, throwing 5 years into the garbage....SONY and any other company should really ask themselves if going down the DEI/Woke path is really worth it moving forward.Too little too late
Yeah, that's what I'm saying — the damage is already done. What was the hold up?Apparently this was said on the 12th. So stupid to make this statement through Game File and not immediately on X. The damage is already done.

Gee I dunno me "think" sp is predominantly aligned with terroristsYeah, that's what I'm saying — the damage is already done. What was the hold up?

It also cleverly organised and placed all the peds and nutjobs into their own "safe space" Bluesky app where they can openly out themselves online and the world can see.Yeah and to riff off of this statement, many lambasted Elon's purchase of Twitter, but it couldn't have come at a more critical time. We were at the peak of institutional capture - media, academia, and tech all moving in lockstep to enforce ideological conformity. Musk's takeover gave the rest a fighting chance and reinforced how Batsuit the Blue Sky crowd really are.
May people decide with their wallets. I don't want politicians messing with the only entertainment industry they haven't fucked up yet.
The only case IMO that justifies an immediate public action is Roblox.
most of the failure are only on the western world thoughFair, but I think this entertainment industry of ours is already royally fucked up.
Amir Satvat told The Game Business that North America is, by far, the hardest hit area when it comes to job cuts. But there are parts of the world that are actually seeing growth.
"Over 70%, and in some years 75%, of the layoffs have been in North America," Satvat shared. "North America used to have 30%, 35%, 40% of the open roles, and that number is now down to 25%...
we condemn that, kind of in no uncertain terms. That's sort of our studio, and that's kind of where we are
Sure wish people were actually allowed to do that these days. Yeah, you can decide to buy or not buy what's available. Just a shame the Banks are now deciding what's even available to begin with.May people decide with their wallets. I don't want politicians messing with the only entertainment industry they haven't fucked up yet.

I can smell the slime from here.It wasn't Kotaku. Game File
