Game Developers celebrating assassination of Charlie Kirk [Update] Sucker Punch Dev Fired, and SP issue statement

The real question is why Reera is not in the list to testify.
Edit: what EviLore EviLore said is certainly correct and I am not...though even if they were in the US I think they would be too small a fish to get any play for the fund raising emails. My original post:

In the US our politicians advertise to get money aka "raise funds" all year round at all times.

The main way they do this is email and it is hard to get good material for that email.

So these hearings are usually an opportunity to create a soundbite or a video clip to send out in emails for each of the politicians who get to ask questions. This is usually the main point of the hearing and often once the hearing is over, nothing else is ever done or discussed again, since the PR opportunity is no longer fresh.

In order to do this you need nationally recognized names and organizations. That purple website just doesn't rate. That's also why you see steam here.

Sony Computer Entertainment and Sucker Punch Studios still didn't released an official Statement.

This proves that Sony Computer Entertainment and Sucker Punch Studios are actively supporting and celebrating the Murder of Charlie Kirk!!!

Though you may be right about national recognition, see Evilore's response. Resetera is not an American company, so that doesn't apply.

PlayStation seems to be hiding comments on their Ghost of Yotei trailer

The guy working the social media account at Sony right now.
Nervous Ted Striker GIF by filmeditor

well im surprised they didnt hide all comments cause ppl keeps MEOWING cause of that 1 person, come on Tophy u are older than that <3

Hiding all comments would have been a disaster. I don't know if they hid that comment or not really. But if they hid one then they probably hid others. Sony could have avoided all of this.

She hasn't turned away from the left. She is still very much a progressive. Just gained some sense and real world insight. She grew up, is all.
That's cool. I want there to be sane, level-headed people on both sides who are willing to talk/listen to each other.

And let me guess, other liberals are doing everything they possibly can to shove her into the open arms of the right.

Exactly. She is a political pariah now. Good thing is Cenk Uygur still respects her and gives her air time, despite his own insanity. That's all the country needs really. Open dialog and mutual respect. Getting violent or calling each other Nazis is a net-negative on our collective consciousness.

The real question is why Reera is not in the list to testify. They clearly did hide the thread because they feared the backlash of cheering over Kirk death would catch them. And we all know they have very often cases of wishing violence against people, one recent case being JK. They pretty much fit the tag of being hate cultists.
are they that important that you would ask them to participate a potentially legislative-changing hearing? it's like me talking to a kid that fucked up instead of their hopefully reasonable parents.

I skimmed the YT comments.

There's actually tons of people who said Charlie Kirk RIP and their posts were kept.

But it looks like someone at Sony doesn't like Yellow Flash. That guy likes to talk games and comics ragging or making fun of the left. So someone recognized his RIP comment and purposely deleted his post.

Had to use code tag to show the link.

I think what might be happening (I skimmed the YT list sorting by Top comment first), is that even popular posts like Yellow Flash with 88 replies are a day old. So older posts get punted for posts within 24 hours. As skimmed down the page, I think there was only 1 other "1 Day Ago" post like his. So it might be the older the post, the algorithm deprioritizes them??? I dont know how YT methodology works.

Yeah I have no idea how their comment shit works, it's confusing. It doesn't appear to be by likes, comments or time-based.

It's probably some kind of combo.

If Yellow Flash's 88 replies are old, his post gets dumped down the chain even if it's big quantity. But then if someone else does a post with 5 replies and it's all in the last hour this post rises to the top. Who knows.

Seems like good design. Otherwise, the top comments will always stay on top and over time, there may be 100s of days, weeks, years old posts before anything new shows up. This strikes a balance between popularity and relevance.

To be fair to YF, so far it looks like his 88 replies are way more than anyone else. And it's only a day old, so it's not some archaic post from years ago. So you'd think it'd still be a top trending post.

Then again, if guys like YF know how media works and knows YT does this shit ranking comments then he might be shit storming on purpose to create a false narrative.

lol I had a coworker (who was kind of a lazy asshole) one day he was just sitting there at his computer swearing and getting all pissed off. So I walked over to see what was going on.

We got a URL via email for some training, but it was just text (not a hyperlink). His solution was to print the email, then put it next to his monitor and attempt to type it in manually. It was some long string with $&?#_= characters and he kept typing it wrong and getting so pissed off.

I let him struggle for a while, then showed him how to copy/paste. It was as if I just showed him some black magic.

Still makes me laugh out loud every time I think of it (he was an asshole so it's OK to laugh)

At the speed of Youtube engagement, a day old comment is ancient. But yeah the exact algorithm is unclear.

Par for the course. I don't know if it was deliberate, but when you are pissed off, everything the other side does (or doesn't do) looks like foul play.

20 years ago, my job was to analyze sales and costs data, with most of working with sales people to see their deals and improve on it.

One person using Excel didn't know for formulas you can lock them referencing to cells using $..... like lock it to $C$4. So what she did for common formulas across many cells was make formulas one at a time. The calculations were correct. But there would be calculations she was doing involving lets say 20 formulas. So she'd do 20 different ones. I'm sitting beside her watching her to do and am like WTF?

When I showed her you can lock to cells using $ and drag across, she was amazed like I found the cure for cancer. And she was a long time account manager. She must had been doing this for a decade!

Youtube itself is rather notorious for deleting comments. I wouldn't necessarily pin it on a Sucker Punch dev. I'm not defending SP - I'm no fan and have no intention of buying the game - but it could just be standard Youtube censorship, which can be pretty random sometimes.

p.s. Although when Youtube does it, they (or their automated systems) will scrub a message before it is even posted. I haven't heard of instances where a post with 3.1k likes is removed. So maybe that isn't what's happening.
