Game Informer May Cover Reveal: Final Fantasy XV

I would not expect intricate multi-layered quests where your gameplay choices matter. If they can be fun to do, that'll be the most important thing.
Yep

Ok this is big I know for a lot of people that are worried about Final Fantasy.

GI has this to say, "FFXV isn't Witcher 3 or Dragon Age Inquisition in terms of your to-do list. That isn't necessarily bad because your quest log isn't bloated by insignificant or uninteresting tasks.....inspires a feeling similar to pre-PS2 Final Fantasies where there were huge overworld maps that made the setting seem authentic and enormous - even if you didn't find a quest every step."

Damn, Square might actually come through this time.

One cool screenshot shows Noctis using a powerful ice spell, I'm guessing Blizzara or something, and His hair, cloak, and arm are all being encased in ice. Also the grass on the battlefield is freezing over. Its a really nice touch how the magic has an impact on the world itself not just enemies.

I really want one for the sake of having it on my shelf to look at, but I'm Canadian....

Does anyone know if it's possible for Canadians to get individual issues? On EBGames.ca, it looks like they only offer digital year-round subs.

I really like the sound of the story, was worried the game would sandbox you in for the first hours, like FFXIII, but it sounds pretty open, that's great.

I wasn't around for this when he said this but, I am more of a believer. I mean, I knew FFXV was going to be massive for an FF title but after reading that article it's so ambitious. It makes me so happy they are trying to do do much with this title.

Can the dog replace my goons?

I want a story about just a man and his dog since Bethesda is very mediocre with scenario writing and I'm not too interested in his... dependable buddies.
If we could only replace Prompto with Noctis' dog :(

Why do people forget FFXII had a huge, explorable, amazing world?

Ok so this is sweet

Each party member has their own "special talent" that improves with use. One example given is Prompto will ask the crew to take pit stops with the car where everyone gets out, goes to a spot and he takes photographs. You can then share these photo's on social media. The more you do it the better his pictures will be. These are in the game for both character development and will have real consequences for the game. Prompto is photography, Noctis is fishing, Ignis is cooking, and Gladiolus is survival instincts
Time to make some throwaway accounts.

I don't know anything about this game or any FFs. Will it have character customization? If so, what about my companions?

i.e. can I change the four dudes' hairstyles? My purchase kinda depends on it lol

I'm kinda skeptical of that. I mean, it's obvious now that we've seen the Uncovered event and reveal of Kingsglaive that the FFXV project is bigger than previously thought, but FFVII is a remake of the best selling FF game ever made and even then, if we're to believe the words of Kitase and Nomura, the project is too big to be profitable with only one full price release. That sounds like it's even bigger than the whole deal about the "Versus epic" that was planned for FFXV years back. I'm more hyped for XV than I have been in a long time, but I have a hard time believing that Verendus' claim there was based on substantial info regarding both titles instead of his own hype.

Nomura next year: "FFVII Remake needs to sell 30 million units to succeed (...) My goal is to surpass FFXV."

This is the first time a Final Fantasy game has been on the cover of gameinformer since 2002 when FFX came out. That's crazy...

Character designs are not customizable. However, there are optional costumes (one is free and in the main-game, others as DLC, e.g. the Suit Costume as a preorder bonus).

Keep in mind Verendus said this before it was announced that VII-R was composed of three full games, lol.
He might have already known by then.

SE said the multi parts for FF7 Remake will be full length games. This was back in December.
Oh I know that. I just thought the actual FFXIII trilogy comparison is new. People selectively ignored the whole "full game" comment and stupid things like "well the order 1886 is a full game too", which completely ignores that SE has never made a story driven single player experience that was that short

Edit: I'm getting off topic. I'll just drop it, Kagari.
They need to sell 10 millions.
No they don't.

Haha. Do you really believe that they actually think the game is too big to be profitable? A remake of Final Fantasy VII? It's guaranteed to sell gangbusters with the talent they have on board if they make sell it in one package.

I agree with the rest, though. Don't look too much into Verendus' post about his faith in FFXV. I think what's being shown is great, too, but at the end it's personal opinion.

EDIT: Like, think about how dumb their reasoning is. It's such bullshit. They've made profit off of so many games in their catalog. That's why they're such a big publisher! To think they won't make profit with FFVII Remake? Outta here with that....

Anybody creating a spoiler free thread with all the infos ;_;?

He's the director of Crisis Core

Gackt partnership was first introduced with Dirge of Cerberus, which predates Crisis Core. Gackt even did the theme song for Dirge of Cerberus. If anybody was responsible for his inclusion into the FFVII series(urgh... I hate that), it's Nomura and Kitase.

I hope SE can have two major FF teams competing with each other, something like CoD but in a better way. This is the only way we can have FFXVI this gen.

I don't know, I mean they could just be trying to milk the game, but they're the ones that kept insisting that they would have to cut down significantly on the size of the project if they were to only sell it as one release. To me, assuming they're telling the truth, This means that the whole project for VIIR, across the multiple parts probably has a higher projected budget than what they considered reasonable for a $60 title even if it were to sell 7-10 million units.
