My girlfriend was more pissed off at Jon for dumping the girl than because of the events of the wedding.

Mostly because she couldn't even begin to process all that.

That was a bit WTF for me, too.
So the Wildling was basically alone, and he had the two direwolves on his side, he could've killed him.
Besides, since the wolves were there, obviously his two brothers were too! Jon being Jon.

At least now he can report to the crows, though.

Does anyone think that viewership will drop because of this?

I drop a show because it's boring, not because it keeps me on the edge of my seat and make me scream at the TV.
I don't know about other people, though.

It's certainly possible. I mean I've heard stories of book readers not being able to touch the book for a while to grieve over what transpired. But tv fans have a week to grieve, so maybe that's enough time. Regardless, the story is fantastic, you have to stick with it.

That episode was brutal. But I doubt that'll be an issue. Firstly, you still have a bunch of protagonists to cheer for and just as much evil.

If you think about it, the best characters remain in game. It was only brutal because there was that build up of wanting the Starks to reuinite eventually. Last night's episode kinda took a huge bite out of that idea.

What do you guys think is in store for the season finale? This episode would of been the finale 99% of the time but we get one more. Will we finish the season with another death to a major character or will it just setup the next season?

Because he had no reason to marry away his best looking daughter when Robb had sworn an oath. He married away the good looking one to Edmure just to give the big FU to Robb.

There's a chance she was just some pretty commoner he used to give a FU to Rob before killing everyone.

At this point it doesn't really matter if she was his off-spring or not, I assume everyone along with the husbo is dead now.

Well if it's anything like the first 2 seasons, Episode 9 is always the crazy one. The last one being a quick recap of events passed and a build up of events to come next season. Nothing big will happen, not on this scale.

Im so bad with remembering some of the people in this show. Who was the guy showing Robb's mum his chain mail under his sleeve?
Roose Bolton, the guy with the flayed man sigil. Supposed to be one of Robb's bannerman but clearly he is playing both sides or eventually joined the Lannisters because he knew he was on the losing side. From the show you could tell that already because he sent Jaime back to King's Landing to get in good graces with the Lannisters and such (not for hostages, not much gold or anything). Just so happened he wasn't openly rebellious like the Karstarks were so Robb didn't see him coming.

After last night I wonder if Bran will be able to control the dragons. That could really turn things around.

IDK, both Dragons and this power are old as dirt. If that were the case I would think Dragons wouldn't be as much of a big deal for one family in the past.

But who knows ... I don't think he will ever get close enough to try anyway :P

I couldn't either, because she was trying to help him.

Im surprised you guys don't recognize what a pimp Jon turned out to be,

He was helping her in return. He bumped her so she wouldn't defend him against them, and then left keeping her "safe" with her people..

I'm gonna wait until next week to think harder about that.

I'm not exactly sure WHY he left other than ... maybe he noticed his brother's were there? But why not take her? Whats the deal with animal dude jumping into a Bird before he died? Is he stuck inside the bird now?

That whole part coulda be a lot clearer ...

So the last shot of Season 1 was Dragons.

The last shot of Season 2 was White Walkers.

Both had a fair bit of build up, is there anything similar we could get in the last shot of this season? Maybe something Lord of Light related?

I really don't think that's how they'll see it. She won't be safe with them, not after trying to defend Jon and attacking her own.

I suspect Tormund figured it out, which is why he didn't try to kill, but merely restrain her. Y'know, between this and his (admittedly cringeworthy) marital advice, he seems particularly smart, for a hulking brutal savage.
