1hr of Thrones left then a 10 month gap..... :(

I'm wondering where the hook for series 4 is going to come from tonight. I'm guessing that we're either going to see the Lannister's nerfed in some way, or Dany is finally going to decide to set sail with her army of freed slaves.

White Walkers have been pretty quiet as well, is that horde of wights/walkers going to turn up on the road south somewhere?

I would bang a hot farmer!
Honestly I don't see much difference at all between Stannis and Renly in that regard. Renly wanted the North to submit the same way they did to Robert - Stannis wanted the exact same thing (as was his right, by law).
It was all in the delivery. Renly knew how to talk to people while Stannis is an ass.

What they wanted was similar but Renly was just cooler about it. Renly talked about reforging old alliances whereas Stannis just threatened to destroy them if they didn't bend the knee.

This has left me somewhat depressed all day. I don't want it to end.

I think I'm going to read the books, at least 1 and 2...I need more of this world, and I'm also going to finally pick up the RPG,even though the reviews from both critics and fans has been pretty mediocre. The story is supposedly fantastic and that's what GoT is all about anyway so I'm sure I won't regret it.

Welp, for those hoping Balish will lift a finger to avenge Catelyn...I just remembered that he called love an illusion in his little monologue to Varys.

Doubt he will do a damn thing about the fact that she was murdered =/

Still waiting to see Balish's reaction upon hearing the news of Catelyn's death.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Renly is a dweeb. Stannis gets shit done.

I bought the first 4 books a while ago. I'm debating whether I should read them until the series is over with. On one hand, I want to read the books before asshole book readers can spoil shit for me, on the other hand it was nice to be surprised with last week's episode for example. I suppose reading the books that the seasons have already covered wouldn't hurt things.

Fuck me and my curiosity! I was reading up on more back story on some characters and I inadvertently spoiled something major for myself. Shit, fuck, ass lakjfkasjflasjglsajglaj!!!!

I want to know what you spoiled now lol.

My brother was googling a couple of years ago and spoiled the Red Redding for himself. (kinda at least)

Seems symbolic that a direwolf dies when a Stark dies and vice versa.

All my hope are on Arya and the Mother of Dragon now, haha. Team Ladies :D

Sansa's still kicking

Sansa's direwolf sacrificed for Arya, I suppose :p Sansa's role at this point is as good as dead anyways since she is completely trapped. Arya's wolf is lost just as Arya is to her families. I do hope that Sansa gets the last laugh though and turn into some kind queenslayer, haha. Chances are though, Sansa is probably doomed to die just like her wolf later down the story.

It would be great if Sansa finds out about her mom and Robb and just flips and murders Joffrey. But I'm sure she'll do nothing and be depressed and Tyrion will be named the lord of Winterfell. I'm sure Tywin would love to have to send him to rule over a burned to the ground city

this reminds me that Theon and his torturer are the only ones who know that Bran and Rickon are still alive. I guess one of them is going to tell Tyrion should he travel North to Winterfell

I'm more afraid that Sansa will kill Tyrion. Tyrion is the only Lannister worth rooting for and I'm convinced he will die before the others will.

Yeah, I just plan on reading the first 2 books, just to get more of the story, the world etc. I like being surprised by the show and having something as awesome to look forward to, so i'll leave the third for now, perhaps next summer.

I'm wondering what kind of end this season will get, considering its like the middle of a book in reality.

No matter what it is, it won't be able to beat what happened last week. Last week would have been a better episode 10 lol.

My brother told me what you just wrote about the book, but I would edit that out, just in case. Might be an unwanted spoiler to some.

Arya has the possibility to become super interesting, in kind of a reverse Jaime way. I think her biggest problem has been seeing the world in terms of black and white. She's at an age where she hasn't yet developed a good sense of the grey areas. Part of that is being Ned Stark's daughter, but it's also her being immature. She carries a lot of hate and instead of being healed of it, I think she will be driven to commit acts that force her to develop this sense of grey morality that she has been missing. I think she will still have that strong sense of right and wrong, but will have to learn that it's not always so simple.

She gets angry at Sansa for lying. Yes, Sansa was stupid for that, but she was also put in a delicate position. She was brought before the king and asked to call his son a liar, something Ned tried to teach Arya, but she just couldn't understand. She hates the Hound for killing the butcher's boy, but refuses to see that there is potentially some good in there. She gets upset with the Brotherhood for selling Gendry because she can't comprehend that it's possible they sold him both for the gold and for their god. And now she's in a position where she will probably have to do some very questionable things if she hopes to survive. Then there's the issue of her saying she doesn't want to grow up to be a lady, but she sure slips into that role pretty easily when she needs to get back into the castle after she gets back from chasing cats. "I'm Arya Stark of Winterfell, let me in or my father, the hand of the king, will throw you in a dungeon!" or something like that. Arya's story moving forward can become soooo fascinating because we get to watch how she develops. PLUS there's this little nugget my friend gave me about season 1: Robert says to Ned "I have a son, you have a daughter, we'll join our houses." Well, it seems that Gendry didn't want to stay with Arya because she'd always be high born and he'd be a big nobody from the slums. Well he just found out he is Robert's son! And Arya is Ned's daughter! Future love connection?! Who knows. AGBDSKJGNGJDS I'm excited to see where Arya goes now.

Arya's kept her resolve and managed to stay optimistic amid all the awful shit she's experienced, mostly due to her friends(Gendry & Hot Pie) and the lingering possibility of reuniting with her family--now she has no one. Any semblance of hope she held on to was massacred in Frey's hall with everyone else. What's worse is deep down she expected something to go terribly wrong, given that it usually does, and it did. Anger & cynicism will drive her going forward, if not full on fatalism. Going back to your point about her failing to see the nuance in situations, her hearing of Sansa marrying into the Lannisters will be interesting since she'll likely see it as yet another betrayal. And surely she'll think the worst concerning Jon & Benjen if Mance is successful in attacking The Wall. Dark times ahead for Little Arya. :( Hopefully she'll run stumble upon Nymeria at some point in her travels.
