The new GPX2-F100 has dual ARM9 cores, according to Gamepark, along with 64MB of NAND Flash and 32MB of RAM. Its 3.5-inch QVGA (320x240) TFT LCD supports 170K colors. Hardware controls include a fourway controller on the right and a small thumb joystick on the left. I/O ports include a stereo headphone port and a USB 2.0 client port that Gamepark says supports 500Mbps file transfers (about 62MB/sec). The device also includes a top-mounted SD card slot.

Gamepark says that in addition to native games, the GPX2-F100's Linux environment enables it to run a variety of game emulators, including MAME, SNES, Genesis, and PC Engine.

A handheld that actually advertises itself as a self-proclaimed game emulation machine? Holy hell, that's good stuff :lol

After "Emustation Portable" I doubt I need other system for emulation purpose (I had a GP 32 before of Sony lovely system).

It need some games designed only for it to interest me. But it looks nice, would like to see the performance of the screen.

That is very cool. I never really followed the GP32 after it was released. Was there lots of games released for it, or at least lots of homebrew stuff?

Looks familiar.

8 Hours batterylife of video playing doesn't fly though.

uh... 8 hours of battery life while playing a video is pretty good I think.. My vaio doesn't even last 8 hours when its idle.

Isn't that better than the PSP?
Well... yeah.

Oh. Well, ok. I guess it's good. I'm not familiar with the battery lives of video players and stuff I guess. Though 8 hours really doesn't seem that much.

I think he means, that it doesn't fly in respect that he doesn't believe that to be true.
You're sarcasm really has escaped the forum ~_~ I mean it's not good enough or doesn't seem good enough.

A Dual ARM9 CPU could do good graphics between DS and PSP but since GP32 systems will not have their own games this isn´t important.

But I continue saying that the screen has the most horrible worse design, a big resolution but with crappy colour support, the movies will have less quality than the DS movies played from the Play-Yan.

So hardware-wise, how does it compare to PSP? Would it run emulators better?

Should be able run any emulator that already runs on Linux (many of them) and the ones that could be compiled with gcc should be straight forward to port.

Operating on Linux and using the familiar ARM9 processors are definitely plusses (sp?) for this new GamePark. Odd that the thumbstick is only four-way, unless that's somehow a typo.

The "4-way controller" bit is referring to the ABXY buttons oddly enough. I'm wondering what the thumbstick is like. If it's anything like the NGPC stick....yum!
