Gamers Nexus: NVIDIA Dirty Manipulation of Reviews

All i see is that reviewers free money train is starting to come into danger.

They get free hardware early so they can make more money reviewing the hardware but are surprised when said company uses its power to push a agenda because guess what they want to sell said hardware.

Maybe those reviewers need to start to stop relaying on handouts of company's and buy there own hardware and then review it themselves. The same goes for game reviews.

Playing Doom : Dark ages on my old 6800XT 16GB, 3700X ryzen 7 on 1080P monitor on ultra high settings & I'm getting 70+fps.
My friend is playing on 4060 16 gb, Ryzen 5600x, 1080P & he is getting 55-63fps. I got my gpu in 2020....that is 5 year difference.
Upgrading GPU is pointless......

They wanna make even more money, bro, strategy is clear- sell xx60 model that gets obselete fast, and make buck on not informed casual customer once again, keep repeating= pure profit.
When some1 wanna buy 5070ti and up u can be sure in most cases person is well informed and knows what he is buying, 5060 tho- thats full on casual market where even the names of the cards are like black magic to majority of customers- those are easily deceived and scammed, and there is tons of them= perfect target :)

Yeah I think it was during the 30xx when they did the swap. the xx60s became the xx70s and the xx60s are basically the old xx50s. That is when the big deception really happened.

Your comment makes no sense.

A 4060 isn't an upgrade over a 6800xt.

What a load of horseshit from Jensen and Nvidia. They are scammy AF. I guess $10s of billions of AI cash is not enough so got to scam some from regular retail customers.

A $300-350 GPU in 2025 with 8GB is a travesty. Extra 4 or 8GB wouldn't cost them more than a few $, so this is completely ridiculous.

And I think who will get screwed even more are gaming laptop customers. A mobile "4070" is only 8GB as an example.

No dude, the problem is the algorithm. If they have to pay for the GPUs(and considering that some models are never sent for review, so they have to buy anyway), most of them would not complain. The problem is that the algorithm priorizes who publish stuff first, no matter how poor quality the content is.

For a company, a gpu is peanuts of money, even if it's a very small operation.

Considering how expensive all this garbage Nvidia releases is, relative to previous gens (read, up until 3000 series), there's no reason no to have 16GB as BARE minimum.

AMD has never had a better window. 2026 will be interesring.

Fuck AMD. After what they pulled with the 9070 XT (and the fake MSRP of $599, which suddenly turned into >$750 after the first wave of shipments), they're no better.

Do we know even how Nvidia mandates these review sites to push MFG?

It could be something-nothing like please talk about MFG, give it at least 15% airtime in your video reviews.

We know many youtubers love to create drama with over statements.

Nvidia thinks MFG is the future, just like how DLSS totally dominates the antialiasing conversation now.

5060 is a good 299 card for today's gamers, what's there to hide? Drivers were probably late to conclude

  • 25% More CUDA Cores
  • Up To 25% Higher Raster Perf vs RTX 4060
  • Same Memory Capacity
  • Faster GDDR7 Memory (28 Gbps)
  • More Bandwidth (+64%)
  • 22% Higher power rating
  • Same $299 MSRP as RTX 4060
  • Shittier performance than the previous gen

If you can afford $300, you can afford to wait and save up until you have double the money to get quadruple the performance not hamstrung by 8GB of useless RAM size.

Gamers Nexus does a ton of reviews where they buy their own stuff without telling companies so they don't get "special extra TLC" versions. They do this on purpose so they get versions of things that an everyday consumer would get.

They even do that with pre-builts including some fairly expensive ones.

GN does good work.

Not the same as a new GPU release when you get the card early to prepare your review to get it out for embargo lift and fight for views.

if Nvidia cut him off he'd lose thousands in ad revenue, merch sales etc for not being one of the 'first'.

What happened with pvr? Nvidia is great and innovative and cool.

Not sure if GN is throwing another of their stinking up the room shades, just because they (chose to) misread/over-reacted to real-world collaborations terms, and not just social media influencers saying nice things between themselves safe space
What we really need at Neogaf is a clown emoji for posts like this…..

Gamers Nexus pulls no punches. No matter the brand.

If nVidia wants to be cunts like they are to their consumers now, so be it. People will smell through the curated cuck channels.

The video Steve alludes to with other outlets could be interesting if only to see who doesn't want to be part of it. Channel like GN are vital to to expose scummy behaviour like this.

Why does Nvidia care what YouTubers say? their GPUs dominate anyway. Nvida has made 8 GB GPUs a necessity for devs to support for the next 15 years. Thats actually the most pro consumer move evear if you think about it.

That is the thing, what part of it? Steve isnt being clear. What was Nvidia review guidelines about MFG?

Steve made this video simply because he is pissed that Nvidia is playing hard ball and threatening to revoke his access to Nvidia specials because he didnt keep up his part of the deal. No specials = less viewership revenue.

Another long rant video adding oil to his own flames to summon the internet army, when the main issue is his MFG coverage did not sit well with Nvidia.

I dont want to sound like Jensen bot, but i think is fair to hear from Nvidia side.

I just think the conspiracy theories of Nvidia trying to hide 5060 so as not to hurt its day 1 sales....is LOL worthy. These reviewers think too highly of their critiques.

There WILL be a day 1 driver, so how long can Nvidia hide from reviewers? Reviews will be out in 3-4 days after launch.

5060 is the sku that wont get overnight queues at MC . It is an accumulator sku over time. Those who need reviews to buy, will obviously not buy on day 1 without reviews.

We can estimate the profiles of 5060 buyers, again those who just want a lower power consumption PC that is faster than IGPU, that plays their moba, fortnight, wow, genshin, something that can drive dual monitors and decode encode for streaming... etc etc

They can go in blind and still get the best $299 GPU today. 🍔

I find the reaction a bit weird. He said what Nvidia were wanting - for MFG to be included in all reviews and comparison charts He also showed statements from Nvidia regarding it and has said he's willing to put the calls online if Nvidia react badly. He's also said there's a second video coming this week with more people who have had the same issues.

You don't find Nvidia threatening to remove access to engineers if he and others don't do what they want in impartial reviews a bit disturbing? It hardly makes for impartiality on Nvidias behalf.

Pc GPUs are not the baseline for game makers, consoles are. Lowest performing console they HAVE TO support for their game is the lowest common denominator. Now this console is series S that indeed has 8GB available for developers, but - have you seen how some series s games look when it comes to textures?

8GB GPUs are struggling now and they will be completely dead once industry jumps to new consoles. Next Xbox or PS6 will be the next lowest common denominator while most games will require 20/24GB of vram to run on console equivalent settings.

Of course he is going to have 2nd video, he has mastered this kind of format

Just put the full original review guideline online now, since he is adamnant about breaking all Jensen bridges.

I dont care about the aftermath calls. Just the Nvidia full 50 series review guidelines. We be the judge, and not him directing the narratives.

The guidelines partially came through the calls. They deliberately weren't official and went individually to reviewers as told in the video.

They'll be supported alright, with muddy textures, stutters, and crashes.

Been saying it for a while. The illusion of a better choice is pretty fucking crap. They keep pulling the same thing since RDNA 2. The unicorn reference card at MSRP that AMD even themselves wanted to stop producing probably because of shit margins but continued because of the backlash. They're always in the same price range ballpark as Nvidia.

But but didn't you see how much more cards they had?

Somehow didn't even make it into the steam hardware survey list of april 2025. Reminds me again of RDNA 2's "not a paper launch" which was steamrolled by Ampere while 2 years later the entire lineup of RDNA 2 was 1.5% combined of steam hardware survey. They're pretty good at the illusion of being a fighter, but really they might as well be a statistical error.

"5070 has 4090 performance" = cant trust nvidia
under-producing 5000 series = nvidia doesnt care
driver issues = nvidia clearly doesnt care

amd's still too retarded though.

you guys can stop defending nvidia. You aren't getting a free GPU.

let's be real. Nvidia has been doing all these shady shit because not only do they own the majority of the consumer GPU market, but also the vast majority of their revenue is coming from the datacenter cards. They simple don't fucking care about the gaming sector since it's just miniscule to them.

The timing of the 5060 launch is no coincidence. Not supplying day1 drivers beforehand and every media busy at computex means nvidia is trying to suppress day1 hype. But why would they do that? Because they know the cards are bad and will mostly get negative reception. And considering how disasterous the launch of 50 series cards have been, it's incredibly naive and stupid to give nvidia the benefit of the dobut.

Here is one german preview of 5060, that GN, HWU and the likes are bitter about. Bitter about not able to go off-tangent and doing their hate watch reviews and take the high ground

Nothing 🍔

The conditions that Nvidia imposed on reviews:

  • the graphics cards tested
    • RTX 5060
    • RTX 3060
    • RTX 2060 Super
  • the games tested
    • Avowed
    • Doom: The Dark Ages
    • Marvel Rivals
    • Cyberpunk 2077
    • Hogwarts Legacy
  • the settings used
    • 1080p
    • Ultra settings
    • DLSS Quality
    • Ray tracing, ray reconstruction, and path tracing when available
    • Multi frame generation

This is what you get when you act like you know it all.
These companies want to promote their new technologies and these so called reviewers only want to push a certain narrative, there comes a moment in time when these companies won't care about reviewers.
Almost the same shit Nintendo went trough no matter what they did they only got bad press, then they decided they don't need certain outlets anymore, no more E3 etc.
And last week we heard reviewers complaining they will not get a launch unit before launch, Nintendo doesn't believe they need those people to sell the system or else they made sure these people had units.

So if in a few years time these reviewers won't get early acces or test units all together, this behaviour is probably the reason.

What happened with pvr? Nvidia is great and innovative and cool.

You do know you can support NVIDIA and still be critical about the shit that they pull right? You don't need to go scorched earth with it.

I mean yeah… bad mouth somebody why would they want to keep collaborating with you regardless of how good faith you might be.

The two cocksuckers in this thread, who would cheer on Huang if he raped their family members should not be in threads like this. It's kinda ridiculous to stick up for shady shit.

Because people build new PC's, my younger brother just build a new PC, he's still looking for a GPU but he plays games like gtav and some racing games.
You don't need the fastest gpu for that but it's not like he can buy a 1080 in the store.
Why buy a brand new card when there are many cheaper older GPU's out there that can achieve that?

What's kind of ridiculous is that Microcenter all over US has bunch of 5000 series cards in stock with 5070 Ti down to like $830 on the lower end. And other vendors like Amazon, Newegg and B&H Photo are also getting stock.

9070 XT is largely MIA and if it shows up at retail, it goes for the same cost as 5070Ti. And that will not fucking work to get AMD market share. They had an amazing chance and blew it as usual.

That said, fuck Nvidia for their shady ass practices.
