Games that are an easy 600+ with achievements

When talking about achievements everyone alway talks about how easy or difficult achievements in relation to the prospect of getting all 1000 points. However, I think it would be much more useful to know what games can you get a good 600, 700, or even 800 points by doing a normal play through while making sure to do side missions, nab collectables, and use each weapon/attack technique. I do not play games twice nor do I have any interest in putting dozens of hours into the online.

What games do you guys think fit the bill?

Mass Effect 2, much easier on the achievements then the first game, my first run without looking at the list I must have unlocked most of them naturally.

achievements don't really matter to me when deciding what game to play, I never really under stood them, get a score for repeating an arbitrary sets of actions x number of times or rank up to a certain level, If they add replay to a game for some people then that's cool..

Not meaning to troll or derail the thread..

The Darkness
Brothers in Arms Hells Highway
Bad Company 2
The Saboteur
Mafia 2
Prince of Persia 08
Prince of Persia The forgotten Sands
Darksiders
Ghostbusters
Batman Arkham Asylum
Godfather 2

Prince of Persia 2008.

You'll get most of the achievements when you finish the game with only a few missing. Great game.

Why "600"?
He pretty much explains it in the OP. Games that give up a good chunk of their points on the first run through. 600 is just an arbitrary/minimum number.

...totally relevant to the thread to say how you don't like achievements, thanks for that.

BioShock. I vaguely remember getting a substantial number on my first play.

Also, obligatory King Kong suggestion.

And let's not forget this.

I'll skim my list...

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Got all but one in my single playthrough and without a guide in something like ten, maybe fifteen hours. That netted me 900 points. With a guide you could blaze through it and collect everything but I actually bought it because I wanted to play it and wasn't necessarily just to get points. I like Harry Potter, oh well.

Bioshock - I have 890 points and I know I only went through once. Not a crazy long game but I was likely thorough. So either lose some of those points for a quicker run or enjoy the game and get a good chunk of the points in the end.

Prey - Rented and went through once quickly and have nearly 700 points.

Bulletstorm - I have 665 points and that was from one+ times through. I think I got around 400-500 by the time I beat it (on Hard, which really wasn't tough) and then spent another couple hours cleaning up some fun achievement stuff that I enjoyed. Could probably spend another hour or two going through Echoes and get another 50 points maybe but I wanted to play something else for now.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - I saw it was already noted by someone else but I got all 1,000 points on a single run through the game. And while I did that on a few other titles (Mass Effect 2 and Call of Duty 2) this one is much shorter so I guess you could say it was easier.

Those seem to be the highlights for me. I don't play games just for achievements but will get achievements if I have fun working on them. So I know Avatar: The Last Airbender has the easiest 1,000 points but I don't see me doing that one. If you really want achievement points go snag that for cheap.

And do people really need to come into the thread to complain about achievements meaning nothing? Can't people that enjoy achievements be allowed to discuss them?

edit: oh looking through i guess i didn't quite understand the op when i read it first. hmm. i got quite a lot of points on the mass effect games with a single playthrough, but i don't really pay attention to those things. still buy king kong if you like achievements!

king kong is cheap and gives you a full 1000 for just playing through the rather short single player. it's also rather good, don't think of it as a generic licenced game, think of it as a take on a part of a classic story by the creator of beyond good & evil and rayman 2. it's a very immersive half-life 2 influenced fpshooter-adventure which does an expert job of drawing you into the world of the film, one that varies with moments of great awe at the scale of the dinosaurs to miserable treks through muddy swamps full of unnerving creatures, and is clever at establishing character through conversations and acting taking place as you play. the mood is hurt by some dull brawler bits as kong that break it up every now and then, but i think it's a very enjoyable and i didn't even like the film.

Personally when it comes to achievements the value means nothing, the achievement itself is nice however.

Gamerscore and achievement score means nothing to me.

I liked this article, which includes the best and the worst of achievements for 2010:
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/...rdest---Easiest-Achievements-of-the-Year.html

Sometimes just to get a feel of how long it will take to clear a game and know what I'm getting myself in for, I look at this site and click "Achievement Guide" (don't look at it, usually contains huge spoilers) and it will give an estimation at the top of how long to clear...sometimes it will have a "without online or co-op" estimation which is nice for lone wolves like myself
