Wait when Microsoft says Day One games are they just talking about 1st party releases or do they mean the 3rd party games launching on Game Pass as well??

Can someone summarize the changes coming to Game Pass and when they're expected?

The OP of the main news source has most of the details so far. Along with this thread.

I'm still curious if these "delays" are related to 1st and 3rd party titles.
At this point it sounds like it, based on the absence of information.

They 99.9% would have said the 1st party games are still coming Day 1. Like they clarified with PC GamePass.

It's basically PS+ model. I mean it's not the end of the world, just not sure it's going to work the way Xbox execs expect it to.

Edit: I do find it hilarious that PC GamePass is becoming so much better via Console Peasant Standard version. 😉

That's ok though as their PC backend is still shit. Also, you mostly can't play games offline unless Xbox app does a daily check or something.

Why does this even exist, they'll have wasted more money paying the retards to think up and market this tier than it'll make in its lifetime. Nobody's going to pay $15 for year long delays and a heavily redacted library.

The "sometimes longer" contingency makes this confirmation kind of useless.
I'm going to assume it's going to be based on how much the current game under consideration is selling.

The better it's selling, the longer it will take.

I don't know why anyone is acting surprised here.

Obviously Microsoft wants to push their highest tier of Game Pass and any sooner than 6 months and they'll cannibalize their own subscriptions.

Probably a little more skewed now that Gold -> Core is also counted in GP, but still likely the overwhelming majority.

Where is the source in that article? Last number we had post-merger of Gold into Game Pass was 34 million. Of those, around 12 million were reported to be Gold previously. So that means 65% were Game Pass as a whole and less than that would be GPU.

Wow. Wtf is Microsoft doing? adamsapple adamsapple you've got some 'splainin to do

Or move over to PC.

I'd be really curious to see the split in subscriber numbers between PC and Xbox. My assumption is that the PC tier isn't priced higher because they are still trying to build up subscriber numbers.

It ain't Xbox if there isn't some retarded piece of hardware or software the marketing team has to fumble their information through to the masses.

PC Gamepass is the place to be right now. However, with the increase to it's price, I will definitely be staggering my sub from now on.

Only subbing when there are games I want to play.

With Game Pass Ultimate, which accounts for nearly [70-80]% of the current […] million Game Pass subscribers
The fuck does nearly 70-80% mean?

They have to compete with Steam, which is a bigger mountain to climb than competing with PlayStation.

Even at its current price PC GamePass is still a bad value (aside from subbing for a month here and there) compared to Steam.

For example, I bought Halo MCC, Every Fallout game ever made, Prey and both Dishonoured games for around $30-$35.
