Mad_Ban said:This game has been racking my mind, and I'm sure GAF is going to be able to help in my search for its name:
- RTS came out at least 10 years ago
- Units are various types of robots
- Cutscenes were in 2D cartoon style, often humour based.
- I can remember "Z" being associated with it.
- From what I remember the first level was a desert-ish environment.
- I remember some of the robots wore cowboy hats.
That's all I can remember, sorry.

PC .. very old.. came with my insanely old pc (also had the awesome Torin's Passage for any time idea)
2d fighting game
Cartoon style sprites
Characters were puppys and cute animals that transformed in Cybernetic Fighters (one of the main characters looked like a blue version of this dog
SSJ1Goku said:Ok I need help, old fighting game:
- I think it was one of the the first 3D fighting games
- Came out on the Saturn first...I think
- Characters were all humanoid robots
- Fighting system looked like a technical hand to hand figher, like Virtua Fighter
- Characters had breakable armor
- Had great animation but lousy everything else
- I believe there was a sequel that went to PSX exclusive (It is possible that the game started on PSX and the sequel went to Saturn I honestly can't remember)
- There are vids of the game on youtube (I saw them a longtime ago but I don't remember the name on the game)
*And no the game in NOT Fighting Vipers

The game I played back then, was a virtual reality shooting game, where yoh had to stand on a platform and put the helmet and somes gloves on. In the game, the main level was composed of many platforms connected by stairs. I remember shooting a flying beast (a pterodactyl?). It was very basic and not very fun, but as my first VR experience it was amazing!
GrumpyAlien said:Sounds like Zero Divide, made by Zoom. I think it started on PSX first and got ported to Saturn. I remember it had an entire hidden 2D shooter game hidden in it.

Nes game i think, about 99% sure. Basically your in a mech and it starts out in a city outside and you can hop and shoot but if you need to you could get out of the mech as a little guy and run to cover or hijack other mechs.
i was way too young when i first played this game and i would love to go back to it...its not cybernator but that game is sick!

major_killjoy said:Crap, this game has been on the back of my mind for years. An old mid 90's (?) PC game. All I remember is a fish bowl, a revenge-Bambi mini game, diffusing a bomb and talking to a guy & answering his riddles. (one of them involving a tube of cheese)
A little help here, please?

-This was a flash game on the internet
-You were given cogs and sticks and you need to build stuff
-It was about building stuff / machine so the red dot or stick reached the red zone.
I can't find the link anymore, I don't remember the game and I want to play again![]()

It's called Z. Just Z. By The Bitmap Brothers, if that helps you search for it.

ChillWinston said:My sister bought me a PS1 game when I was a kid, it was weird as hell. It was a third person, platformer(ish), I think. Time was a big aspect of it, you could either pause time or slow it down. From what I remember you could morph between 3 different characters whenever you liked à la Trine. The levels were really strange, think they may have been people's dreams or something along those lines, huge floating islands everywhere, really surreal stuff. No idea what it was called.
Beginning of PSX era.
Was featured in one of those black Demo Discs that came with Playstation Magazine.
It was a fighting game similar to Smash Bros. but darker and more mature.
There were powerups and platforms where you could jump higher.
The characters had funny voice taunts.

There aren't that many 3D fighters for the N64. A quick few seconds looking at screenshots points me toward Fighter's Destiny 2 though (might be right, might be wrong). I seem to remember reviews mentioning it having a weird board game mode (you land on different squares with different match conditions).Neuromancer said:There was a weird 3D fighter on the N64. Generally matches were held on big squares and you could get a ring out. I remember one of the characters was a sultan looking dude. It was an OK game, good but definitely not great.
OK close enough, I am certain now it was Fighter's Destiny 1. Thanks mate.Starwolf_UK said:There aren't that many 3D fighters for the N64. It's a space/flight game for the PC. Plays up the unsettling "invading aliens are destroying our fighters and we can't do anything!" towards the beginning. I keep confusing the name with Dead Space, so maybe it was a similar title that I can't seem to google. Every time I see the new Dead Space threads, I get that frustration of not knowing the game.

Going by the bolded statements I arrive at Killer Loop. It appears to be single player only (going by the fact that is the biggest critism of the game in the Gamespot review) so this might not be the game you are looking for. Also, I don't really see strobing lights from the screenshots though the tunnels/pipes look like you can drive on the roof in themMechanical Snowman said:OH sweet, I've been looking for this game for ages, maybe the pros can help.
I remember playing it on PS1, it was a multiplayer racing game.
Basically it was a badass game where you raced these futuristic vehicles that floated just above the ground. I can't describe the shape too well but they looked like an upside down Y, where at the end of each extrusion was a bulbous shape that I always assumed was the engines.
The race tracks were full of strobing lights, and I think you could actually go upside down in the tunnels like K and J do in MIB.
Does my vague description help anyone?
YES, yeah this is definitely it, thanks.Starwolf_UK said:Going by the bolded statements I arrive at Killer Loop. This was an old arcade game with tiny, detailed sprites. You could run around on foot shooting, or race around in a car. The closest modern analogue would be Assault Heroes, but the sprites were way smaller than that.
Every time I try this I get suggestions for similar games, but no-one has ever nailed the exact one.
Have at it gang!
