I will eat my Sunset Overdrive overcharge can* if Kojima partners with Microsoft exclusively for his next game

*Will not actually eat can :P

I don't really know on announcements, we're due a new Halo game announcement... Microsoft tend to announce the next one before the nearest one is out.

You have to look at the bigger picture of their line-up to see what they are likely to announce here:

I suspect Quantum Break, Scalebound and ReCore will all be first-half of 2016 or very early second half (ReCore).

Then you have Crackdown (it depends on the business model), Sea of Thieves (most likelyF2P so will launch in open beta I think), Gears of War 4 (Holiday 16).

Microsoft like to have at least 3 $60 games in the holiday, so it could depend on Crackdown - if its even 2016 but so far I count on Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 (it will happen, no doubt) for holiday 16 which leaves at least 1 game left.

With how Microsoft are announcing titles I would be very surprised if they didn't pretty much have Holiday 2016 locked for their big new titles after Gamescom with the exception of the Forza game announcement we know is coming. I could be wrong of course but either Crackdown is that third $60 title or they still need to announce it.

Obviously stuff like Killer Instinct, Twisted Pixel, Press Play and other smaller stuff could come around that time but I wouldn't necessarily expect them to announce them early.

So, a Halo game announcement with Halo Wars 2 the obvious one although I wouldn't expect that to launch in the holiday and then another title possibly.

I say all that but I'm not expecting actually expecting too much myself, what makes sense based on the past doesn't always repeat with the future but its a reasonable indicator.

This!

343 said they wanted to make Halo an annual franchise, so I expect a spinoff next holiday. Halo Wars 2 is the front runner for me regarding new announcements for Gamescom.

Battletoads is the only other game I have a strong feeling about given all the hints. Only questions are who is making it and when is it going to release.

I think Spencer will continue to make good on his claim that building new IP is top priority with at least one new IP announcement. We got Sea of Thieves and ReCore at E3, so I believe he held back at least one more for Gamescom.

Maybe we'll finally see what LiftLondon has been doing all this time? I believe we knew they were making games for mobile/tablet, so it wouldn't surprise me if they have a few Windows 10 games ready to show off now that the new OS is launched.

Lift London are on Hololens, that doesn't stop them making games but given how long its been, I have absolutely no expectations of them at this point.

Wtf? I don't even know what to say. The main art looks pretty good to me?

To be fair, he also criticized Nintendo for the logo of Bayonetta 2.

Why read so much into the tweet? He has never been big on going on stage has he? I thought it was even a shock he turned up on stage at all at E3, no?

You are correct. But we can see that Microsoft want him to be on stage, not some random yes-man producer who reads off the prompter.

And he is not one to do this.

Could turn out to be awesome GamesCom comedy in the end.

BUT WE NEED A THREAD TO DEMONSTRATE HOW TERRIBLE IT IS TO WORK WITH MICROSOFT GUYS!!

just ignore him. he feeds off the replies.

Subtle way of saying "don't feed the troll" without saying "troll"....

It's all in the subtleties, for example, the saying: "it takes experience to know one."

So who's on the ship of Scalebound being hack-n-slash? (ewww)

Or, Scalebound being a more traditional action-RPG ala Souls combat or Witcher 3 third person combat? (yassss!)

Witcher 3 combat- noooooooooo

Boss fight will make or break the game to me. I want epic scale boss fights

#TeamSinglePlayerRPG

I expect it to have some sort of multiplayer mode, but I hope it won't be the game's main focus.

Witcher 3 combat is garbage compared to that of Platinum's character action games so no.

I'm not against an action RPG if it has trademark quality Platinum combat, but I don't want it to be like Souls. It has to be faster, crazier.

Wiitcher fuck no, but a Dark Souls style game with a more actiony combat gets a big YES from me

Scalebound will be a character action game (like Bayonetta, DMC...). Mark my words.

I don't mind speed of movement. I love it in Vanquish.I just get a "light" sensation out of hack-n-slash gameplay that's generally unrewarding - at least for me. Prefer meaty, heavy combat instead. You can keep speed of movement and thus "spiced up" action without the usual hack-n-slash pokes.

Add Dragons (potentially dinosaurs/mosters of that ilk) into the mix and yeah...not looking towards hack-n-slash pokes. Been praying for a while. Dino Crisis and Turok ain't coming any time soon - dead.

It sounds to me like Microsoft is going to have a huge presentation on stage and not on the show floor for scalebound. The show floor is probably dedicated to all the games coming this fall.

Standard fare for first gameplay footage of big AAA games. Expecting something similar ala Horizon. Some story tibits, gameplay tibits, a hot action scene. More will fall through the cracks.

I don't necessarily like Witcher combat but I cited it cause it provides contrast with hack-n-slash and people can recall it quick. I can't see free-flow sword gameplay ala Shadow of Mordor fitting into this game otherwise I would of mentioned it.

What is capcom Vancouver (formerly blue castle) working on? Any chance a new dead rising is coming? It's been about 2 years.

I missed that development. That's so bizarre to me considering that Nadella put a stake in the ground and said HoloLens has an enterprise focus.

Oh well.

and what about Crytek? We need that Ryse 2 on England, right?

Ryse 2 was canned over an IP dispute, I'm not so sure over that England rumour too

Dead Rising 4 I suspect but they're also working on a new IP in some capacity if Linkedin is to be believed.

What the hell am I reading here? Witcher games aren't even known to have good combat.

Souls(especially BB) have awesome comebat but not half as good as H&S games like Bayonetta, DMC and MGR.

I wouldn't mind if it was ARPG but Witcher combat is a no no.
