The Benny Intensifies

The exploration part I get, that's why I play them, but story? I didn't think the stories were good in any of them.
Haven't played Fable 1 (yet), but I found Fable II and III's stories to be entertaining except for the rushed last act of Fable III. The ending in the Traitor's Keep DLC was much better than the ending in vanilla Fable III.

Edit: Besides, it's not like they couldn't hire better writers or change up the story in the next game.

I will give it a go when the full version comes out, but I doubt it will scratch my Fable itch. Fable is more than just colourful graphics and quirky Britishness to me. It's also about story, exploration and interaction with NPCs.

A bigger focus on multiplayer means that those aspects will not be as prevalent as in Fable I-III. The 4v1 element was especially disappointing to hear about, as it means that each level will have to be designed with that in mind.

Edit: and while I might end up liking it, I'd still want Fable IV anyway. Just like I still want a new proper Banjo-Kazooie even though I ended up enjoying my time with Nuts & Bolts.

Those 3 have been promised by Lionhead on several occasions and while I can't say too much about the story the Blood of heroes book gives you a good taste of what these new heroes are all about. I hate not being able to talk about the game when people have all these worries but, GC is tomorrow so i'm sure Lionhead will let you guys see more on the subject tomorrow.

I agree with you second statement as well (the edit) it's just different and that is not always a bad thing.

Maybe Lionhead realized that people want a real fable game and legends gets delayed.

Delay it to do what? FL is far too far along to delay it and do anything significant with it, they'd have to just start from the beginning basically to make anything else. At best in the Fable franchise they'll just release it and get on with Fable 4.

To be honest at this point after no mainline Fable game since 2010 i'd rather they just get on with that new IP, although hopefully its a big RPG and not someone else multiplayer free-to-play

You can constantly find a ps4 for less than 249 in Europe these days.

Microsoft needs to drop hard.

I haven't ever seen a retailer selling a brand new PS4 for €249 here. The lowest is the old 500GB model for €349, to clear the stock. Other than that it had some great bundles for 399 (PS4 + one or two games) or 449 (PS4 + game + 2nd controller + camera).

Used is a different topic. I got my 4 months old white PS4 for 289. Saw some people selling the regular black PS4 for 250 as well, but didn't bite, because I wanted a white one.

I know they've said this before, but I doubt that it'll be be on the same level as the main series.

-Will there be a similar amount of story as there was in the previous Fables?
-Will the story be more organic than "cutscene before mission + cutscene after mission"? If it is more organic, how will they please the co-op players that just wants to run around and kill monsters?
-Will it have a cohesive story rather than random missions from the wilderness?
-How will they be able to include the choices/be-the-hero elements from Fable 1-3?
-Will your co-op buddies be okay with you roaming around the level and exploring instead of helping them fight the baddies?
-Will they include content for single-player gamers that have been shunned by said co-op buddies because no one wants to play with someone that just runs around to explore stuff?
-Will there be more cities/villages than Brightlodge?
-Will you be able to roam through the entire world without having to enter a menu?

I reckon it's fairly safe to assume 'no' to most of those.

I honestly just woke up and thought it was the 4th, and missed the livestream. Such a relief when I found out it was the 3rd (work schedule is all messed up so I thought today was Tuesday).

Nearly all the MS games I was excited for pre-E3 were delayed to gamescom. I felt MS' E3 showing was weak as a result (the lackluster halo 5 and gears 4 demo didn't help). Really looking forward to this one.

I feel QB will definitely have a strong showing based off the previous ones, really hoping Crackdown and Scalebound are turning out well.

Indeed.

The game might have some form of exploration, NPC interactions and a story, but the multiplayer focus makes it nearly impossible to design it in the same way as the original Fable games.

I'd be seriously impressed if they managed to do it, though!

It's not a "real" Fable game. It's a very different beast. It's cool, but do not go in expecting a open world RPG from it.

If you expect L4D - Fable Edition with persistent RPG elements and character building then you will be happy

I know what kind of game it is. My questions were mostly rhetorical. I voiced my disappointment/concerns about the multiplayer focus earlier in the thread.

It's definitely going to be different from the main series we know the over arching story will be released in seasons with at least 15 missions(IGN interview from a year ago).

I can say no to some of those questions as of right now and maybe / yes to a few as well . But, I don't know how the final thing will work only how it is now. I belive Lionhead has heard the worries about this game and are going to try and do their best to alleviate them to the best of their abilities.

I remember when it first revealed I think one of the creative directors said they were making FL with the intentions of it being a 10-year platform, and that they could make all kinds of experiences. I'm very curious to learn more about their plans.

Even if it doesn't grab me at first I'll probably keep checking in with new seasons. Hopefully the FL team is going to be tuned into the game's community for some direction much like MS/Iron Galaxy have been for Killer Instinct. The KI season model and the engagement between MS/IG and the community has been one of my favorite things about this generation.

Tbf I'd be quite happy if Lionhead had FL as their long-term 'service' game and then a new IP RPG on the side.

I like the Fable games, but not enough to miss them if they took an extended holiday. Soz ;)

Are you guys expecting this conference to be as big or bigger than the E3 one?

I expect it to be bigger on games as far as I'm concerned (more games that may interest me, I'm not too big on Halo/Gears/Forza), but smaller on unexpected surprises (like BC, the Rare pirate games or even the elite pad).
Although I'd like to be wrong, I like surprises. :)

I'm super pumped.

I'm hyped for both QB and Crackdown 3. Scalebound will be a wildcard for me but I love Kamiya's work so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Way better. Look at the lineup. Quantum Break alone is more interesting than anything they had for E3.

ReCore, Sea of Thieves, CupHead, Halo 5, and Gears of War 4 were already pretty interesting to me at E3. Plus we got the backwards compatibility and elite controller announcements.

Let's no go overboard with the hyperbole ...

I predicted this at E3, but what are the chances we see EA on stage to announce a DA:I large story expansion (akin to Awakening) with the news that DA:I is available right now in the Vault (was previously announced as later this summer at E3).

I believe the DA:I Producer has been on record saying there is still more story content coming? And, I mean, the ending kind of hinted that they need at least another DLC.

edit: And oh ya, maybe we get another game or two in the game-preview program

I'd love to see a new Halo demo. I really want a good showcase of the campaign that gets me hyped. I loved the beta, but the E3 campaign demo didn't do much for me yet. I'm sure I'll love the game, I just want another tease!

I know they have been saying it's not going to happen but I desperately want a Warzone beta.

I hope so, it's what I've been waiting for.

They also dropped last gen support for future DLC so I would expect something big.

Crackdown has been one of my most anticipated games since it was announced during E3 last year. Can't wait for some more details.

I'm so hyped already, I'm interested in every single game news that has showed up today on the forums, Gears collection, SF5, MGS5, BF. Hot damn I need more hype overload tomorrow and I just got my Rare Replay shipping confirmation finally.

Nahh, I think QB will be sooner. I think they could have had it ready for this Holiday season if need be, but since their release schedule was already so packed with Halo/TR, they pushed it back to early spring.

I think Recore will be a May game, and Scalebound will get pushed back to second Half of the year......Here would be my release prediction.

March 2016 -- Quantum Break
May/June 2016 -- Recore
Aug/Sep. 2016 -- Scalebound
September 2016 -- Forza Horizon 3
October 2016 -- Crackdown
November 2016 -- Gears 4
"Spring 2017" -- Sea of Theives

Of coarse that is just speculation, and there could be a spot for Halo Wars 2 in there (if it gets announced).

Good lineup of games but here's my release prediction -

March 2016 - Fable Legends
May 2016 - ReCore and Scalebound
September 2016 - Forza Horizon 3
October 2016 - Crackdown 3
November 2016 - Quantum Break
March 2017 - Sea of Thieves
September 2017 - Forza 7
November 2017 - Gears of War 4

I don't see Quantum Break coming out early 2016 because well, Microsoft rarely if ever does that. May will probably be a slow and dead month which is a perfect time to release two new IP's. I see Quantum Break as being their big holiday title next year with Gears being their big holiday title for 2017. No gameplay thus far yet for Gears of War 4 so I would be very surprised if it's a holiday 2016 release.

Of course, we'll hopefully find out release dates or at least release windows for the 2016 games.
