Gamespot COD 2 review

Fannnntastic.

I don't have a gaming-quality PC, and I've held off on WW 2 games waiting for the right one...this will be it.

Call of Duty 2 will definitely deliver. And if you haven't experienced a Call of Duty game before, then get ready for an incredible experience in Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox 360.

This is definitely true for those who have only played the console COD's up to this point. Sounds awesome.

Uh-oh. Only .1 better than Kameo?

*Prepares for 1UP's innevitable 7 score*

Nahhh. The XBOX360 version runs so much smoother than the PC version and I believe 1UP gave it a 9 <--- Clicky the linky

can anyone detail the online multiplayer for me?

-online co-op?
-4 on 4? or 8 player free-for-all?
-deathmatch only or are there objective based types?

i want the game but i only buy a game full price if i know i'll play the single player plus get a lot of hours out of the online multiplayer. if its really good online, i might force myself to look over the 8 player barrier and pick up the game.

Naw, apparently they gave it a 9. They finally discovered there are numbers between 7 and 10!

Wow no lean 360 matches the PC version!

Great score

Still not buying it! Unless the multiplayer is spectacular

Not with 8 people online.

Stick with PD0.

32 players. Tons of online modes. Console FPS of the year. :D

Yeah.....if you can only buy one ;) I've got PD0 for multi and single...and CoD2 for the most immersive single player experience....I'll get enough replay value going through it on multiple difficulties.

Metal Gear Solid 3 just can't catch a break at Gamespot.
Just FYI, there were quite a few people doomsaying MGS3 when it's score went up on Gamespot. I don't know if that's your point, but don't act surprised when same happens with other anticipated games that score 8.x. It's just the nature of the beast I guess.

The video review mentions that grenades send bodies flying with rag-doll physics. Call of Duty 2 doesn't use rag-doll, right? They look like canned animations to me.

Gamespot quote "Online multiplayer restricted to eight players"

1up.com quote "With up to 16 players at once, firefights get pretty intense and any weaknesses would be exposed. Instead, you'll just move right into playing on Live seamlessly."

So which is it?
