Why on Earth is the Gizmondo mentioned..
In the GS Live interview it took the guy 5 minutes to start the thing up and when he finally showed the game it looked like total crap.

edit - seriously, I can't believe they have seperate categories for these. What's up with that? I mean Killzone etc. are also hidef trailers. What goes where? Whoever thought this up needs a talkin to.

Some time ago DOAX received the "Best use of boobies" award, now DOA4 wasn't really so great, so they changed the category for Zombies?

My guess is that they didn't want to take flack for choosing a trailer that had no real-time elements, so they seperated the categories to lessen the blow.

They probably thought Stubbs was a great game, but just didn't win in any catagories :P The game will most likely become one of those games that people liked, but nobody bought. Giving it an award at least notifies the players of its existence :)
 
mario gets best sports game? give me a fucking break. i'm tired of sites/magazines not giving madden the recognition it deserves for fear of anti-EA/madden bitches whining about it. you know there is literally no competition for madden in the sports genre (and there hasn't been for a number of years), but yet every year some stupid ass picks some type of lame mascot tie-in/hybrid "sports game". fuck off gamespot!
 
Very solid list. I agree with pretty much all of their choices.. didnt get a chance to play/see Black though. Zelda was unquestionably the game of show though and it's really showing up in terms of awards. I was only kind of so-so on NSMB but maybe I just didnt give it enough time. I was kind of confused by it really.
 
Nobody wants to come back saying that the nth version of Madden was the best sports game. Websites look for fresh properties or amazing graphics with their awards.....with Madden 360 hidden away it didn't really have a chance at gaining much recognition.

Hrm, did you play Strikers? I think it's deserving. Also keep in mind that Madden is a simulation game, which never comes across well in short E3 demos. Games like SM Strikers are very easy to get a feel for in a five minute demo.
 
Hey maddenites, just curious as to whether you guys are getting the XBOX or PS2 (or X360?) version this year? I sold my XBOX so it will be PS2 for me.

A trailer that was released for download in 1280 x 720

Microsoft had HD trailers for nearly Xbox 360 game up on their web site.

ohh please almost every year Game Informer puts Madden in the top 10 of games that year and madden always gets good review scores don't act like Madden is some shunned game that the media secretly wants to destroy

Yeah, no kidding. I'm sure when EA is tallying up the tens of milions rolling in this fall they'll recall this 'snub' and cry.

I agree. I loved Strikers.
Did anyone read the article behind the win?
They saying how that was the last game that they went to before the doors closed?

Myself and 3 of my friends went right to the 4 player Strikers again 10 minutes before the show closed, and we didnt put it down till after the gong was a-done ringin'

Its just fast fun. And thats what gaming is about. It's refreshing.

It's the BEST sports franchise.

The feel of the game is just perfect.

Was it playable at the show? It looked like an NES super mario bros. title with much needed additions like wall jumping. I'm psyched for it.
